I chose this hotel because of the price, location and free parking. Clearly for under £36 I wasn't expecting luxury. Check in friendly and efficient- I didn't even have to say who I was. Parking was available at the rear of the hotel. I got the key to Room 38 on second floor at the back. Lift available. Basic room....

Terrible hotel. Room was so small I couldn't open my 1940s wardrobe without hitting the ancient uncomfortable single bed. I would have had more room if I slept in the car. Miserable decor and old and tired throughout. Miserable bloke on reception. Spend another £30 and stay at the Cairn Hotel on Osbourne Road .

Stayed at the hotel for several weeks and found the hotel a pleasure to stay at. It may be a converted set of houses with the associated hallways and weird shaped rooms but it is clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast is excellent and sets you up for the day....

I've been very pleasantly surprised by the Dene. Having been booked in by my company I wasn't sure what to expect. I have a lovely room which isn't huge but is nicely done out. The bed is amazingly comfortable and I'm really sad I'm here working so I can't spend more time in it! There is also a gorgeous wet-room...

Stayed for 3 weeks whilst family member in Freeman hospital. Large room, plenty of storage and very clean. Breakfast served to order. Food was hot and well cooked. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. I didn't know how long I would be staying but it was no problem for them to keep extending my booking and they didn't...

Good stay for the price, around £80 for b&b for 3. Friendly, good basic breakfast. Shower was very good as was a basic bath one. Clean comfortable beds. Used free wifi. Had to pay £1 for parking permit as limited spaces full at rear.

A warm welcome when we arrived, parked fine, extremely clean room with shower/toilet and kettle with tea/coffee etc. Comfy bed, hair dryer, tv, wardrobe. Reception staff were extremely polite and helpful - ordering us a taxi and chasing it up for us when it hadn't arrived. Doors are locked at midnight and if you think you're going to be late...
