We stayed at the hotel for one night for a belated birthday treat. Service was excellent, all the staff were friendly and polite.

The room was beautifully clean. The complimentary drinks (both alcoholic and soft drinks) were very much appreciated.

My only comment would be the cooked breakfast could do with being replenished a bit more often and a 2nd coffee machine would speed the drink queue up.

We will definitely return for another visit.

We would definitely stay again at the Innside - Newcastle. It had a great lively vibe to it. We booked 2 studio suites over 3 nights, Thursday 3 - Sunday 6 June.

This was our first stay away from home since Covid started in February 2020. We hadn’t even eaten out, not even a takeaway for 16 months. So understandably we were very cautious.

Both suites were spotless, not even a spec of dirt. They were very clean and spacious. The beds were big and incredibly comfortable. It would have been nice to have a bath sheet included with the towels, but in fairness the complimentary bath robes were a good replacement. The views overlooking the Tyne during the day were excellent and even more enchanting at night when it was all lit up.

For breakfast there was a vast array of anything you could possibly want to eat. You need to request in advance poached or fried eggs and vegan sausages. For obvious reasons we didn’t feel comfortable about eating indoors with everyone else. A small minority of people did not always wear their masks properly (for whatever reason) so we ate outside on the terrace. Which was not a problem and very pleasant because the weather was so nice.

There was no shortage of anti-bacterial gel in all public areas, it was easily accessible and absolutely everywhere. Which was very reassuring.

All the hotel staff were extremely friendly, upbeat and helpful. We had a few minor issues during our stay, but we put them down to teething problems because the hotel had only been open 2+ weeks.

The water pressure on 2 of the 3 days went off for periods of time, once during a shower and the second time during a shave. We had to use the complimentary bottle water to wash with and have shave. Interesting!! Also when the hotel is busy and/or music playing, reception can’t always hear the car park buzzer. This meant having to come inside on a number of occasions to ask for the barrier to be lifted, to get into the car park.

Apart from the above issues it was a very enjoyable stay.

Stayed here for the Spring bank holiday weekend, service even before arriving was more than satisfactory.

Personal request for a bottle of wine to be in the room in preparation for the evening was easily done and a swift transaction as well.

Nice and warm feeling to the reception area upon arrival, checking in was a delight and also a swift process.

Rooms were easily located and aid with carrying luggage was requested by the staff however not used (nice touch).

The room had an extremely nice feel to it, a modern touch to its design. Room didn’t come with a specified ‘river view’ however the river was very much in sight from the window. The beds were very comfortable (firm with support) with plenty of space, pillows were some of the best hotel pillows I have used in quite some time - given the unique size and shape of them.

Room service was adequate with menus on offer at all times and drinks being available to the room as well.

Design of the open washroom to the bedroom had a slight romantic touch to it, I very much enjoy an easy to use and comfortable shower and I can’t say anything bad at all about the one in the room we stayed in.

Overall the night was extremely enjoyable, start to finish. The sleep was cosy and quiet, the curtains did a remarkable job of making it seem like it was still quite dark outside, however upon opening them we were greeted with 20° weather and a beaming sun.

The location was extremely ideal with easy access to the riverside and an easy walking distance to the city centre and other restaurants.

Hotel bar and restaurant was also (as expected) really good, the drinks from the bar were made swiftly and also enjoyable to have. Prices were as expected from a modern classy establishment.

Price of the room and the stay was very much worth the sum we paid.

Parking is restricted regarding space however calling ahead to reserve may potentially be the safer option but if you know of any local parking areas then it is no hassle.
The Stevenson car park around the block is the closest public space to park your car however it is a bit of a walk (quick Uber if you have a lot of luggage).

There is a small and narrow car park next door that is easily accessible as well however beware of the parking times and payments (easy app to use to measure this though!)

Overall, I would highly recommend INNSiDE Newcastle without question. If your stay is anywhere close to how mine was, you will thoroughly enjoy it.

I will very much look forward to staying here again.

Absolutely lovely hotel can't begin to start to say how much I loved this place. We had booked into another hotel for 4 nights checked out after 1 it was a flea pit. Found this hotel and booked for 3 nights. The minute we walked into the hotel we loved it everything bright and airy clean and fresh. Reception was clean and tidy and all staff we encountered on our visit was very professional and very friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely river view queen size bed good size TV. table with two chairs more like a bedsit without the kitchen area. Shower was a walk in very big good toiletries. The only thing that I didn't like was the towels were rather small need to put bath sheets in room. The hotel has a Gino D Acampo restaurant connected to it but is to serperate companies. You do use this restaurant for breakfast if you book B&B which is absolutely lovely a great choice of food to start the day off. The hotel is dog friendly. The first two nights our dog stayed with family but had to have her for the last night in hotel which cost £10 which is really good was told the dog can anywhere apart from restaurant which is fair but this is not the case we went to sit in lobby area near bar for a drink in the evening and was told by Gino staff that dog wasn't allowed when we question this Gino staff told us they had told hotel staff this last week perhaps both companies need to talk more. Overall brilliant hotel would highly recommend.

We had a lovely corner room with a great view of the bridges. Incredibly comfortable bed but, personally, the pillows were a bit soft for me. Our main criticism is the design of the lighting. The toilet has no switch - it's an automatic movement sensor which stays on for 25 minutes! - OK for young things but older bladders mean you can't avoid the glaring light coming on in the night. Definitely design over practicality. We ended up turning off all electrics and keeping a curtain open. Plenty of storage but could do with a few more hangers. In contrast with other reviews, I love a small, non-fluffy towel so the hotel towels were not a problem. However, I'm not sure small and rough is what the hotel was aiming for. The room could benefit from a full length mirror. We arrived too late to get a hotel parking space. The receptionists were very helpful although the first directed us to Stephenson quarter parking (£12/day) whereas the second suggested we use the pay and display behind Wetherspoons – cheaper and much nearer (£3 all day Sunday £1.30 / hour other days). Eventually we got a hotel space. We had a delicous evening meal in the terrace restaurant and breakfasts were really good. However, our pot of tea outside in the afternoon was only half full of tepid water.

Dear Hugenot, Thank you for your review! I accept your point regarding the toilet light being on a PIR sensor - I always shut the door fully when I stop over in the hotel! When you are next visiting please let us know to bring you up some additional hangars, we would be happy to do this for you! My F&B team will be delighted that you enjoyed both your dinner and breakfast in Gino's. Thanks again, Calum

I stayed for four nights, and for the most part, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The hotel is new and modern, and the room was comfortable, albeit little and compact. The mattresses were firm but unluckily consisted of two single beds pushed together; I prefer a larger mattress. The fitted sheet is ok, but there is no flat sheet, and the duvet cover is not soft and comfortable.

The safe was not left in an operable state, so that I couldn't use it. After a long journey, I did not want to faff around getting someone up to sort it out, but this ought to have been reset when the previous guest departed.

The temperature control system is excellent; you can cool the room down to 18 °C and heat it to 25 °C rapidly. The toilet light is automatic and extremely bright; this is a problem when you are half asleep and need to go to the loo in the small hours; you get dazzled by this powerful light. The blackout curtains are highly effective.

Plates and cutlery were delivered to my room upon request without issue, although I had to phone twice in one instance to get them.

The hotel is close to city centre conveniences; however, you should be prepared for a steep ascent to get into town. This isn't a problem and was good exercise, but it isn't easy when you leave the hotel and head for the station with a large case.

On Friday and Saturday, from early evening, the hotel lobby area is quite loud. I recognise they may want a party atmosphere, but the ambience wasn't very sophisticated. I checked into the hotel around 7 pm on a Friday; I thought I was checking into a nightclub. The Manchester INNSIDE is different in this regard. It wasn't too bad on Sunday and Monday.

The staff were friendly and agreeable, for the most part. A colleague gave me a late checkout which was helpful, although this wasn't recognised when I checked out.

From 11 am on checkout day, I had four knocks on the door shouting 'housekeeping'. These repeated disturbances were wholly unacceptable. Staff ought to have touched base with housekeeping to ensure that I was not disturbed during late checkout. I also had a phone call from reception to check that I was checking out. I had to indicate that a colleague sanctioned a late checkout.

The hotel is nice, new and has an excellent location with good views of the river and bridges. The hotel has a strange layout with the restaurant having a prime outlook onto the river but the main entrance is on a busy street, which would appear to be to the rear of the hotel, more suited to users of the car park.
All the balcony rooms are located on the first floor, whereas the best outlook is on the higher floors, especially if you could be allocated a corner room, which may be the studios.
The bedroom area also has a (very nice) walk in shower with the washbasin next to this. The toilet, looks as if it had a door put on as an afterthought, looks like it's in a cupboard just next to the shower and washbasin. This entails coming out of the closet!!, to wash your hands and if someone happens to be using the shower they have no privacy, which is fine if you are there as a couple but if just friends who are sharing a room this might not be a suitable arrangement.
Whilst everything in the hotel, including, housekeeping, is eco friendly the towels are so thin they require replenishing after every shower. The tea/coffee etc. is in a pre-packed cellophane pocket, so if you do use the allocated 2 tea bags from the pack (and leave the empty packets visible) they are not automatically replenished, you have to make an additional request, which is fulfilled immediately and in a nice manner by the housekeeping staff.
The breakfast overall is good with plenty of choice and nice friendly staff, who come round frequently to top up your coffee but not the luke warm tea, you have to request this if you require some extra or a pot of boiling water. If you book bed and breakfast and request an omelette be prepared to have a charge of £8.50 added to your bill. I have, over the years, stayed in many Melia hotels Sol, Melia and Level - but first time for an Innnside -as well as other hotel chains from 2 star to 5 star and have never been asked to pay for an omelette at breakfast!
The hotel is clean, good bed, quiet and an excellent location but having stayed in others in the area e.g. Hilton and Copthorne I don't think I would bother going back to the Innside Melia but I was asked for my opinion and this is only my opinion.

There was an event happening in Newcastle that meant hotel prices were inexplicably hiked so a Travel Lodge type hotels were similar prices to the Innside. I decided to stay here mainly because of location, right on the Quayside it couldn’t be better located with the most fabulous views. As has been mentioned by other reviewers the parking is insufficient so don’t even bother trying, however, I will say the receptionist who came out to explain and took my luggage was excellent. I had checked in online the day before, not sure why because it made no difference as still had to check in on arrival. The room was clean and modern but I couldn’t control the air conditioning, the towels are a joke and the hairdryer is hard wired under the sink with such a short cable I couldn’t stand up straight to dry my hair - just why? Breakfast was a standard buffet offering, had to ask for coffee refill but overall ok. Staff were very pleasant. Would I stay again? Probably not, it’s expensive and having to pay an additional £20 for parking makes it even more so.

Our second stay at this hotel because of its great location. Choose a river view room if possible. Parking is extremely limited, can't be booked advance and costs £15/day. You can park in the public carpark just beyond Wetherspoons but be warned that, on both our stays, the app wasn't working properly so we had to get up at 0800 to go to pay the fee. Not ideal. Breakfast is excellent with plenty of choice and well presented. The town house rooms are very large but rather austere - totally grey and stark lighting. Also, if you're of a certain age and have to pay a visit in the night, the toilets all have automatic lights which will turn on and totally wake you up.

Struck lucky booking here after cancelling with a hotel along the quayside , with the weather at it's worst , reception checked us in early - really friendly staff on the desk , our room was on the 4th floor with a view of the Tyne , floor to ceiling windows made full use of the panoramic view of the bridges and the water .
The room was spotless , complimentary bottles of water in the fridge along with a choice of teas and coffees .
The bed was massive , ( almost far enough away from each other to not hear the snoring ) , very comfy too .
Curtains were thick and blocked out the light . Room also has a safe ,
Big desk with a chair , large tv and complimentary wifi . Bedside tables and a phone .
The shower is big , brilliant water pressure and toiletries .
MINOR points we thought were maybe coasters for mugs or glasses ? Won't take long to damage the light wood finish , towels - maybe bath sheets rather than the size currently ? A tray perhaps for the kettle and drinks to be on .
Breakfast had been added , huge selection ! I can't say they have missed anything off , cold and hot buffet . Served tea or coffee on arrival and then free to help yourself to juices etc .
Feedback ! - the tongs to serve were wooden and not great , they don't open ! I only noticed scrambled eggs ? Not really my thing perhaps a fried option . Cutlery , maybe access to more once plates were taken and you fancied another sausage !
Staff were all very nice who seemed happy to be open to welcome guests , great chat with a lady ( I'm going to say Helen ) who even took photos and made some chefs famous lol .
I look forward to staying again soon .
