Went here for lunch for my birthday, service was great, al carte menu was lovely. Really pleasant lunch, Not cheap but worth it, nice touch at the end where they brought me a little desert to wish me happy birthday.

Me and my partner came here for a little break away and we were so happy with the service received. All staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly the receptionists who were very welcoming. Our room was absolutely beautiful and the breakfast that was included was delicious! Would definitely return here!

Took my mam here for afternoon tea and it was absolutely exquisite. The surroundings are beautiful and we'll worth a visit. The cranberry scones were to die for! Service was excellent and couldn't be faulted.

Stayed in the Noble Suite which was very quaint but had everything we needed. Fabulous meal in the restaurant and staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. A beautiful quiet location - one I would recommend wholeheartedly.

Originally booked for Sunday lunch with my son who is at University. Had a great meal with friendly excellent staff. Fancied a few more glasses of wine and so sought availability of a room. Very attentive staff found a standard room no problem. The room was small but had everything required and was very comfortable. The breakfast was superb and...

Fantastic selection of teas, I went for strawberries and cream, beautiful! Lovely, delicate, fresh sandwiches, followed by 3 scones! Great to have cheese, fruit and plain options. The Chocolate financier was rich and velvety, the rhubarb and vanilla cheesecake was topped with a delicate meringue kiss that just melted in the mouth. But my absolute weakness was the white chocolate...

Was allocated room 6 overlooking the quiet garden (this might be busy if a party was in full swing as it also overlooked the patio outside the dining room). The room was large and tastefully furnished with plenty of good facilities. The bathroom was also large and included an excellent shower over the bath. Breakfast was excellent and in very...

I took advantage of the Valentines day offer of an overnight stay and the meal complete with champagne reception. The whole experience was amazing from start to finish. Check in was quick and easy and the bags were taken to the room which left my girlfriend and I time for a drink at the bar. We booked a junior suite...

This is the second time we have stayed at Jesmond Dene House. I am from Northumberland originally, but now live in Buckinghamshire and travel up to visit family. For this last trip it was just me and my two sons (aged 4 & 6). We had a truly superb stay - the staff were wonderful, so genuine and decent and...

Our son bought a Virgin experience for two at Jesmond Dene House in Newcastle upon Tyne. We used our experience for Valentines' day and night stay. What an amazing time we had. Welcoming staff, fabulous food and a lovely room. Great car parking too. Not long enough though. We need to go again, maybe in the summer to appreciate the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A grand house with contemporary style, a leafy setting near the heart of the city. Jesmond Dene House is neither a townhouse nor a country house hotel. It's simply 40 well-designed bedrooms and suites in a richly historic building offering understated luxury and rather good food. Overlooking the wooded valley of Jesmond Dene, the privately owned hotel guarantees peace, escapism and a refreshing change. Newcastle's city centre, however, is only a five-minute drive. The hotel recently received 4 red stars and the AA Hotel of the Year 2008-2009. ... more   less
