Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A really nice hotel with a good feel to it. We had an evening meal and breakfast there. The meal was great with good service. Max was our waiter in the evening and was attentive without being too overbearing. Good service. The room was clean and modern. The only draw back was the parking charge of £22 for one night! We were not made aware of this when checking in and came as a bit of a shock when we checked out. There are cheaper parking alternatives seconds away.

Stratford is lovely place, the hotel is a well positioned boutique hotel & dog friendly which was a bonus for us but what makes all the difference is the staff who work there. Everyone we met was great and helpful. A warm welcome on arrival from Imi. Beth went out of her way to bring special tables to set up a lovely dining area for our group in the lounge bar which was very much appreciated thank you. The famous Mary at breakfast who is a true gem, a delight and such as asset to to the hotel. The best hotel breakfasts we’ve ever enjoyed, cooked by Zoltan, the king of the fry up and perfect poached eggs every time. We stayed for 2 night en route to Devon.

Fantastic hotel, the du vin hotels set the standard. Rooms are to a high standard and service is 5 star. We stay here a lot with work and we’re always looked after. Mary on breakfast is amazing and is fantastic at her job. Well done to all the team at the hotel. See you all in the near future.

Lovely hotel no complaints a part from the cost for room service, and the food is expensive. I stayed when the hotel was having a function so the restaurant was closed. After a long drive I didn’t feel like going out. The food was nice enough but not worth the cost. £18 for a burger and chips. If you use the parking spaces behind the hotel rather than reserving spaces with the hotel it’s cheaper and a few steps away from reception. I’ve also been told that on street parking is free.

As is always the case, the staff are what make Hotel du Vin a classy place to stay. In Stratford, the breakfasts were particularly nice - Mary went out of her way to attend to our every request and she was both gracious and friendly. I always enjoy the high-end toiletries - little touches make a big difference.

Booked evening meal as well as breakfast, the food was top notch and Max the waiter was extremely helpful and so were all the other staff. Would have given 5 star if it wasn’t for the slowest shower I have ever used and the less than luxury scratchy bathrobes. Fingers crossed they sort the water pressure out for next time as would certainly return if coming back to Stratford.

Excellent from start to finish couldn’t fault almost anything about this hotel and bistro. MAX is an incredible host and made us feel so comfortable and knows his stuff. Only thing I could fault was the towel gowns in the room were rock hard but it wasn’t a big deal. Coffe machine in room is class ! Best food and drink we have had in a while the chateau brand I’d definitely recommend! Breakfast was faultless lots of choices and all top drawer. Don’t get any better ! Tip you need your room card to use the lift lol we stood in there scratching our heads for a while 🤣👍🏻

We paid £481 for a 2 night stay, with breakfast in a deluxe room (a Saturday and Sunday) dinner was not included The room we stayed in, is named Gerhard Pittnauer. a large room, large bed, comfortable and nice pillows. The space. Good space in room. The monsoon shower, dreadful. The only link we can give this to a monsoon is how much it soaked the floor and how unpredictable it was. It is impossible to get the right temperate and I jumped in and out as I tried to avoid burning my skin or having cold water over me. We did mention this to a member of staff who said they would ‘pass on our concerns’. The extra we paid for the deluxe room included a balcony (no roll top bath in the room) and the balcony overlooks the local police station. There is no nice view for this price. There is also only the door to the balcony in the room. No windows and this gives the room a glum feel and while spacious, the darkness makes it feel somewhat stuffy. If you like natural light or need natural light to apply make up, this room isn’t for you. There is no natural light at all and I had to apply make up with lights and wall lights on. It was very dreary in the room during the day. We used the lights in the day when in room. Parking, hotel parking is about £22 per day BUT in the same car park (behind the hotel) you can pay independently on the machine, we paid £28 for the 2 nights stay. So don’t book your parking with the hotel, it costs more although they don’t tell you this. They added parking to our booking when we booked over the phone. We arrived. Saw the machine and price, paid the £28, then, when we checked in and was told the parking cost, we advised we had paid at the machine, and the hotel parking cost was removed. Breakfast is plentiful in terms of pastries, yogurts, fruits, toast, preserves, juices, coffee and tea. There’s also freshly cooked options. My husband enjoyed his full English on both mornings, he said the bacon was nice and sausages good quality. First morning I had the avocado on toast (I’m a veggie) it was nice, so much avocado, I did waste some. The second morning I had the vegan breakfast. Strangely there is a full English meat option and a ‘full English’ vegan option but not a veggie option. So vegan, the scrambled option was scrambled tofu. This is completely subjective and down to taste but it was the worst breakfast I’ve ever ‘tried to eat’ I tried a bit of the scrambled tofu, a bit of the sausage and a tiny bit of the black pudding and it was all awful BUT as stated, that’s personal preference. Also on the second day my husband said he didn’t want black pudding so was asked if he wanted beans instead and we commented there aren’t any on the menu and she said they don’t include them on the menus? Why?? How odd. Location is great. Staff are lovely. Room and the room price for what we had, definitely puts us off booking here again. It was definitely not worth £240 a night for just b & b.

These things count for me when going to a hotel, ambience, quality of food, quality of rooms, and service. Well that's five stars from me then, with particular mention of the receptionist Imi for which nothing would have been too much trouble.

First class experience. The room was gorgeous, all in heavy masculine colours with a feature bath. Very Peaceful, not disturbed at all and the staff were excellent! Check in and check out was easy. Nice bar for working in laptop and tea. Very close to all venues. Will be my first choice if I return. Thank you.
