Stayed one night at the Houndshill Hotel, booked it on line last minute as a surprise for my partner! I phoned up after to see if I could check in mid dayish'..and they were great and had the room ready! Lovely old building amongst beautiful settings..reminded me of an old Hunting Lodge..we were up on the top floor, room 8....

The bar is ok and the ale is good, but the food is disappointing and the aged decor and borderline unsafe children's play area equipment suggests a complete lack of re-investment. The kitchen door was wide open when we were there - staff in the normal clothes eating as they were serving, dank kitchen smalls hanging in the corridors leading...

John had the roast lamb sunday lunch and a glass of red wine and I had the salmon and a glass of white. We were served promptly by a lovely friendly lady and we both agreed our meals were really delicious and filling. The salmon and lamb were beautifully cooked and it was nice to have a selection of fresh...

Our favourite local country pub for a hearty lunch. Great home cooked food, relaxed atmosphere, gorgeous setting. Not bells and whistles but sometimes it's nice to just chill and have some honest, no frills, good food. Can't go wrong with the Houndshill Platter for starter and a delicious steak and kidney pie. Sad to see it so quiet, the locals...

Had a flavourless Sunday Roast. Very average meat, only two roast potatoes, which were pretty average as well, and the rest tasted like off the shelf supermarket food. Quality of the interior was poor and relatively average service. Place looks nice from the outside though.

We recently spent a night here, the room was spacious and clean and the bathroom looked like it had been recently refurbished. Downstairs they have a bar selling real ale and good pub food with a extensive specials board, bring your appetite, the portions are generous! The Inn is set in large grounds in the countryside and is very peaceful

We organised a lunch out for our car club (nineteen people) and had an excellent visit. Friendly welcome, nicely cooked food (I think someone else has commented on the steak and kidney pie!) and well organised service. Thank you to the proprietors for coping with us. (I can't comment on the accommodation as this was only a lunchtime visit)

This is very easy to find just a few miles outside Stratford and it is set in large grounds that includes a children's play area. The food on the menu is pretty much standard pub fare at lunch time and although well cooked and tasty we all found the food to be really over priced and poor value for money....

We arrived here at just after 9.00 p.m. on the Friday of the August bank-holiday weekend, hoping to find they were still serving food - my wife had just travelled from London on the train and we hadn't eaten. We were staying locally but don't know the area, so we went for the first nice-looking place we found. We asked...

Unusual Hotel. It has a small number of rooms and it is set just off the Ettington Stratford Road in parkland. Our room (3) had too large windows that overlooked the car park, field and a magnificent cedar tree. Room was massive with large TV and DVD player. The Resturant serves reasonably priced meals. The unusal part is that there...
