Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We've just had our annual family get together at the Arden and what a great time we had. Sai and the team made us very welcome and were on hand throughout the day to make sure everything went without a hitch. Food and service were excellent, together with friendly, attentive staff. Worthy of a special mention are Penelope who looked after us on the day and Peter who went 'above and beyond' with his care and consideration towards my 91 year old father who stayed overnight. Thank you so much.

All the staff absolutely brilliant - welcoming, smiling and appear happy in their work. Afternoon tea and breakfast delicious. Excellent location and bonus being the hotel car park. Needs some TLC / upgrading but would definitely go again.

Had a lovely 3 night stay at The Arden. Received a warm welcome from the receptionist who then showed us to our room - which was superb. Breakfasts were excellent with a gluten free option. The management and staff couldn't do enough for us, and were friendly and helpful. The decoration and furnishings throughout were lovely and the location perfect. We look forward to our next stay. Thank you.

We chose The Arden for no better reason than its location, so didn't really know what to expect. From arrival till departure the staff were phenomenal. Thanks guys. We were only there two nights and had come to see Midsummer Nights Dream . Two breakfasts, one evening meal and some drinks. Great stay. See you again.

Second time staying here whilst going to the races. Hotel is in a great location and staff are friendly. The two rooms we’ve stayed in were lovely and I would award 5 stars if not for the following; A welcome drink was meant to be included in our package but we ended up feeling like we were trying to pull a fast one when it was queried by 4 different staff - despite it being on their system. Secondly there was a spot of blood on the duvet cover at the end which had been covered by bed throw - I didn’t notice it till the night before we were leaving Last thing - like some else commented the bathroom needed a bit of tlc- cracking in the ceiling, spots of black mold and grime in the joins of the shower doors

Enjoyed a relaxing stay at the Arden. Staff welcoming and helpful, and rooms very clean and fresh. In particular, Mehmet, the night porter, greeted us warmly on arriving back in the evening. He’s a great asset to the hotel and brasserie. Thanks to everyone for a great stay.

Stayed at this hotel whilst visiting the theatre. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. Our room was called the Monkey Puzzle which was well appointed with beautiful views of the river. We ate dinner in the restaurant and the food was superb. The hotel is well located for all local attractions. There is also a lovely outdoor seating area and terrace for warmer weather. I would certainly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was very nice, a good breakfast, lovely staff and a great location. Just a couple of minor negatives; we were expecting complimentary prosecco which was offered to be delivered to our room but I think the gentleman on reception forgot. We soon hunted it down though. The beds were comfy, decent room but the shower needed some attention in terms of cleanliness. The build up of orange on the grout in the shower tiles is bacterial and black spots of mould on the shower seal. Just a little bleach and elbow grease would sort that out and everything would be perfect. Overall we had a lovely stay.

Room Tip: Free car park behind the hotel so don't park elsewhere. Would recommend Vintner bar and bistro...

A very chic, elegant place to stay just opposite the theatre. Staff pleasant and helpful. Accommodation clean and comfortable. Food very good, particularly breakfast. Ample parking. Looking forward to staying next time I visit the RST, maybe in the summer when I can enjoy the outside space.
