Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful hotel with great facilities. Staff are extremely friendly and caring, particularly Michael - always has a smile on his face and a proper gentleman. Had a great time and some lovely food too. Would fully recommend to anyone!! All the best, James

Please ignore these rubbish reviews! Two of us stayed here for 2 nights, room was amazing, food was wonderful we went to the spa the girls there are phenomenal and so lovely we had 2 treatments each then went for afternoon tea. Amazing. The reception lady was AMAZING! Me and my friend went out for food and drinks maybe drank too much and she was so lovely and funny had a nice chat and a laugh and every time we came in the hotel she was our welcoming friendly face. Thank you to everyone.

Watch out . For business reasons I tried to cancel my booking at this hotel. No they told me that I had unknowingly agreed to cancellations only allowed 5 days before and they would take the WHOLE of the fee that I had agreed to pay. And they did ! BTW I’ve stayed there before & it’s a not particularly nice place anyway, bedrooms are off long dreary passageways, this is not a Manor House place at all, run with a accountants mentality rather than with service in mind as demonstrated with them charging the whole agreed amount with my having to cancel TWO days before arrival. You might wonder why I booked with them at all ? The reason was that dreary though it is , it is a convenient hotel for having parking facilities

I'll start with the downside, very suprised to be told, on checking in that there was a £7.00 per night charge for parking; I didn't spot that when booking but it's not that much so not an issue UNTIL todayt (a week later) I get a £100 penalty charge for parking in the hotel's car park. I have called the hotel and spoken to the receptionist who has, apparently, emailed UKPC to get the fine cancelled (and I've told him that this fine is just for the 1st night, so I expect another letter tomorrow.). Seriously Unimpressed. Be carefull if you stay here AND the receptionist does not tell you about the £7 a night charge. Now the good stuff - the hotel is great, staff very friendly. Food is expensive, a £5 surcharge if you want anything other than a full English (even if you just wanted a couple of poached eggs on toast and nothing else) Room was comfortable and gave us the 'base' we wanted to see the town and surrounding area for a couple of nights. Just BEWARE of the parking fine you may get even if you pay for the parking in your hotel bill !

Dear Phil Thank you for your time for writing a review of your stay with us. I am very sorry for the inconvenience caused due to the Parking in our property. Its great to hear that you found our rooms comfortable and friendly staffs. In regards to our Car Park, all our websites display £7.00 car park charge each night and also a board displayed in the reception. To avoid any penalty charge from UKPC, there is UKPC tablet to register your car. I am very sorry again and will look forward to Welcome you back again. Kind Regards

Having stayed at Alveston Manor for the last 15 years and no complaints we found our stay this year inadequate and disappointing. The room was okay and acceptable . The breakfast however was a massive let down and felt like corners had been cut to save costs. The toast(bread) was completely tasteless . The jams/marmalades etc in large jars just left open had no flavour whatsoever and were clearly the cheapest option possible and were indistinguishable from each other. The staff were friendly and helpful but a bit over keen to clear away plates the second you put your cutlery down and the hot food was arriving before we had finished our cereal/fruit. The smell in the hotel reception area hits you when you walk in and smells like cheap deodorant/cleaning fluid and very off putting on arrival. Sadly after 15 years we will no longer be choosing this hotel for our annual Stratford stay . The hotel is looking tired inside and the food (breakfast) is on a level with a motorway service station.

Very attractive hotel in beautiful grounds. Great location for restaurants, bars and shops. Also river walks. Breakfast was very good. Room spacious, comfortable bed and clean white sheets. The room is in need of refurbishment, the carpets, bed throw. Bathroom needs a steam clean, tile grout and sink hole. Staff very friendly. We stay here most years and will return.

We booked a short stay at this hotel for our anniversary in Stratford upon Avon. At first we were really disappointed with our room which was really an adapted room for disability. Thankfully, the brilliant Amelia organised a room change with fantastic efficiency. The hotel itself was very overpriced in terms of bar and breakfast prices. The location just across the river from the town is great.

On checking in, the receptionist was not overly helpful, and she didn't explain where anything was like the spa, gym or were to go for meals. Our room 202 was a large room, comfortable but looking a little tired. The spa was great and very relaxing. My partner used the gym and was good. The restaurant menu was disappointing with not a lot of choice but the breakfast made up for it. Ideally walking distance to the town
