Be greeted with tea and cake and shown local maps to get the best of your stay in Stratford-upon-Avon at this charming bed and Breakfast in a quiet location. We only use quality local produce in our breakfasts and serve home made bread together with our very own home made jams and award winning marmalades to compliment your cooked breakfast. Within easy walking distance of the town centre and its many attractions. Also very close to Stratford racecourse and a short drive from Warwick castle. We take your safety very seriously at Moss Cottage, therefore we have undertaken a full risk assessment and made changes to stay Covid safe. Our 3 rooms are cleaned before your stay with antiviral cleaners and all high touch areas are cleaned very regularly with the same antiviral substance. We also still service your room daily. We have changed from a family setting breakfast table to two smaller tables to aid social distancing. We test our temperature twice daily to ensure that we are free and wear masks to serve your breakfast. We want you to feel as safe and comfortable as you do in your own home.

Bill made us so welcome. Coffee and lemon drizzle cake on arrival. Then Bill spent time showing us the route on foot into Stratford and recommended places to see and eat. We had a downstairs twin room, clean and comfy with help yourself tea, coffee and biscuits. The ensuite was modern and clean with a bath and shower above the bath
We enjoyed yoghurt and Muesli followed by a delicious cooked breakfast, toast and homemade marmalade. There is a great choice of different jams and marmalades which you can buy as well as chutney
The bed and breakfast is about 10- 15 mins walk to the pub. Despite being on a main road it's not noisy. Certainly we felt very welcome and enjoyed our brief stay.

Just returned from our two night stay at Moss Cottage. What a delight it's been. Bill was the perfect host, nothing was too much trouble and he made us feel so welcome. The rooms were a great size and really bright and airy. The beds were comfy and the added touches of biscuits, water and tea, coffee and hot chocolate were fab! Bill kindly got our rooms ready early so we could freshen up and check in before heading out into town. Whilst we waited for our friends he made us coffee and offered us homemade biscuits and showed us a map of town and gave us some suggestions of things to do.
The room was made up the morning of our second day with a replenishment of refreshments and towels.
The breakfast was lovely - especially the scrambled eggs, smoked salmon and homemade bread (toasted).
We bought a couple of homemade jams to bring home with us, which we can't wait to try.
Thank you Bill for your hospitality....we will return!

We stayed at moss cottage overnight, welcomed with tea and homemade cake by Bill the owner upon arrival. Bill and Peter were incredibly hospitable, with Bill even helping to scrape the snow off our cars the following day. The ro was clean, warm, quiet and comfortable. The beds were comfortable and got an excellent night's sleep. Bill informed us about lots of local history, gave us a map and was able to recommend landmarks for us to visit. Peter makes and sells homemade jams, preserves, and marmalades - all of which have won awards - on the premises. I purchased a few and can say they are very tasty! The whole experience of staying here was extremely positive and I hope to return. Thank you so much Peter and Bill for making myself and my friend feel so welcome in your lovely b and b.

Just back from our 2nd visit to Moss Cottage.
Met at the door by the host Bill. Who is such a lovely man, with great knowledge of the area.
When you arrive you are offered tea/coffee and a slice of homemade cake.
This is where Moss Cottage excels. Homemade bread, award winning homemade jams and marmalades. Good quality ingredients for breakfast.
Which is now served on separate tables due to covid. Bill wears a mask whilst preparing food. There is hand sanitiser in each room. There are only 3 rooms so book early. Space on the drive for 2 cars. Its about a 20 minute walk to the attractions and town centre. If you need to use the car, parking in the evening is only £3 near the wheel.
The whole place is spick and span which is testament to the owner. Would definitely recommend and if we are in the area again there is only one place to stay.

My Mum and I stayed at Moss Cottages on the weekend beginning Friday 6th January 2023. We were staying in Stratford-on-Avon as we were celebrating my 30th birthday weekend. Bill was an exceptional host: he was genuinely kind and enthusiastic when recommending where to visit in town whilst also providing interesting facts we didn’t know; breakfast was delicious and it was a lovely touch that it included homemade bread, jam and marmalade and he went the extra mile by lending us books about a local entrepreneur.
The B&B itself was cosy and homely. Our room and bathroom was a perfect size and was very clean. Again, Bill included lovely touches such as providing tea, coffee, hot chocolate, bottles of water and biscuits in our room. Even though he provided this within the cost of the room, he made us a pot of tea when helping us navigate our way round the town when we first arrived.
When we first arrived, we were looking for somewhere to eat and Bill recommended The Bell pub which was a 10 minute walk away. The pub was exceptional both in terms of atmosphere, customer service and the food. In fact it was so welcoming and the food was so delicious, we ate there the second night.

My Partner and myself have just returned from an excellent stay here. If you have difficulty walking or do not want the hassle of parking then the hourly X18 bus that can be caught just opposite runs into Stratford and back again until around 6 pm. Thank you Bill and Peter.

We had the pleasure of staying at Moss Cottage for one night. Bill is the perfect host; he welcomed us with open arms and was fantastic at making us feel comfortable from the outset. He gave us great recommendations for what to see and do, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious! We will definitely be staying here again next time we visit the beautiful Stratford upon Avon. Thanks so much Bill!

+1
Bill was a lovely, welcoming and friendly host. He is obviously very knowledgeable about the area and on top of that, he produces the most amazing breakfasts. Peter is clearly a whizz at the jam and marmalade making, with a brilliant selection available for your homemade toast.
The beds are comfortable and the rooms are cleaned every day, with fresh towels. Moss Cottage is so close to everything - you don’t need a car, although we did take ours, but only used it once whilst we were there. Everything is within walking distance and you certainly won’t starve as there is a multiplicity of restaurants and cafés in town. A great way to explore Shakespeare’s environment and a trip to the less-well-known and performed ‘All’s well that ends well’ rounded off a very pleasant trip.
