You know what to expect from a Premier Inn but this one also gives you a great location by the canal where there is seating and is a short walk into Stratford itself.

Plenty of sanitiser on entry with signs saying that they are concentrating on cleaning handles etc and we did see someone cleaning the lift buttons while we were waiting.

There is parking available at £5 per day.

Rooms are as you would expect with the usual comfy beds and air conditioning which was welcome after a very hot day sightseeing.

Well recommended.

Cant believe this is only 2 stars, the room was spacious and had everything we needed for a comfortable night, clean tidy and simple check in. Although we did not use the bar / restaurant looking at the menu it had again all needed with great choice.
The hotel is a 5 min walk from the top of the town so we found it a great location and 24hr parking for £4 - bargin.
I personally have stayed in some more expensive and higer rated but were much worse. This ticked all the boxes for a cheapish night away allowing us more money to spend in the shops than line the pockets of the hotel chain lol, the only critisism was the pillows a bit hard

Overall this was a typically good Premier Inn experience. Good location near both the train station and the town centre. Clean, comfortable, spacious room at a very competitive price (booked and paid in advance). They are very strict about the 2pm check-in time at this location (at least they were on this occasion) so if you get there earlier, don't even expect them to check if there is a room available (fair enough at these prices). Only complaint is that we were on the first floor and could hear foot traffic quite loudly from above, so if I were to stay in this Premier Inn again, I would definitely want to be on the top floor.

The location of this Premier Inn by the canal was lovely, especially as we had a room overlooking the water and were able to watch the ducks, swans and boats going by from our window. It is a 2 minute drive to supermarkets, Costa, Pizza Hit etc. McDonald’s is just next door, and the town attractions 10-15 mins walk away.
The restaurant in the Premier Inn is not open except for breakfast which has to be pre reserved or risk not getting a table. The breakfast was disappointing. My husband’s full breakfast was not hot enough and the eggs were overcooked. I’m vegetarian and have the quorn sausages normally so requested 2 as usual but they only had one left. This is so annoying as a lot of people are vegetarian it’s not exactly unusual. To be fair they did take my breakfast off the bill though.

Disgusted at the state of our room. Upon arrival we discovered: clumps of dust, hairs on bedside table, water marks on toilet and a contact lens on bathroom floor! All of this easily recognisable and not simple oversight.
I reported this to the manager who said no one was available to clean our room and at no point offered us a new room. I’ve worked in hotels for years and no matter how few staff were there, someone would clean a room for a guest; because it should be clean, never mind the current health risk.
I was offered a free breakfast and when I told him we were having breakfast for 3 mornings he told me he was only authorised to refund for one day. Barely plausible but I accepted, expecting this to be followed up, it wasn’t. He then cheerily informed me I was lucky and getting extra money back, the breakfast I’d paid for on booking had been 50p cheaper than my refund price. Seriously?
On the final morning my girlfriend was rudely shouted at by a manager for using a locked door to reach the terrace. We’d been told both mornings that this door was ok to use and thought no more of it. When my girlfriend pointed this out and that the sign said it was locked during dinner service only she had the door abruptly shut in her face and was told “Breakfast.” Other guests commented about how angry she’d been and we were left upset and embarrassed.
Despite all this, on the morning of checkout, we discovered the same contact lens on our floor.
A poor stay in a reputable hotel.

We stayed here for 2 nights on a bed and breakfast basis, asked to book a time for breakfast which we opted for 9.15am. We ordered full breakfasts and expected these to arrive after we we had eaten the cereal however after waiting over 45 minutes we cancelled the order and requested a refund for both days. Drinks were left on the bar for around 10 minutes before being brought to the table and were luke warm. Staff appeared stressed and overworked so service fell short of the usual Premier Inn standard. Overall cleanliness not great saw fluff on the carpet in same place over a couple of days so clearly not hoovered and no signs of enhanced cleaning regime considering Covid. We would return as overall the hotel is well located however we would not book breakfast.

Considering the hotel is having to adapt to a changing environment - hotel coped well.
good location and easy walk into Stratford

There was an issue with no hot water in the bathroom sink and was not fixed. You should not have to run the tap for a considerable length of time to get hot water.

Why do all the bathroom fans in Premier inns make such a noise and are generally useless at removing steam from the room.

Guest now need to bring more of their own amenities.

Stayed overnight on a Monday in room 323 which is at the front of the hotel near the main road.
No complaints about the quality of the room or the cleanliness etc.
The only downside was the traffic noise from the main road. From 4am to 7am the road was very busy with heavy lorries which not only created a lot of noise but at times actually caused vibrations too. I assume that all the heavy traffic was aiming to get on its way before the morning commuters were due. The noise tailed off around 7am as the lorries were replaced by cars which were not so intrusive.
I would imagine that if you were sleeping in a room further away from the road the lorry noise would not be an issue. As there is no way of selecting which room you are given I would not personally stay in this particular Premier Inn again or recommend it to others.
I booked a few weeks in advance and got a room at a cheap rate which meant it was very good value. If I had paid "full price" I would have been disappointed.

Second time staying here, the first time we had a room overlooking the canal which was lovely, this time we overlooked the parking area, not quite as lovely! As we were only here for a night it really didn't matter. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Tea/coffee making facilities in room and reception gave us more coffee and milk when asked. Hairdryer in room and plenty of electrical sockets. The bathroom was also spacious but the air vent was so noisy that we couldn't put the light on at night as it would wake the other person and likely next door too! It also affected the 'relaxing bath' I had, lying in the bath listening to the constant thudding sound.
We had a full English breakfast which was well cooked, due to covid restrictions, breakfast was brought to us and the staff were amazing, professional and efficient, they all worked hard in the restaurant and gave excellent service. The reception staff too were friendly and professional. All in all very good value for the price we paid and in a good central location, literally 4-5 minute walk from centre. We paid £5 to park which we were happy with. Well worth a visit

Stayed for husbands birthday from Sunday to Tuesday.

As with all premier Inn's, great standard room which was clean and comfortable.

The staff are always what and make or break an establishment and I have to say - the staff here are wonderful. Welcoming, friendly, attentive, helpful and just lovely.

The location is brilliant, a fairly short walk to town via the main road or along the riverside tow path - also a short distance to the out of town shopping area. There are roads to cross (with crossings) on route to town but fairly stable and wide in case you are navigating with a mobility scooter or need wheelchair accessibility. (We don't use either but I am always conscious of these things having elderly and disabled parents). If you are people who enjoy a walk, like us - there were plenty of nice circular walks to do around here and also a nice jaunt up the tow path towards the next town along.

The air conditioning in the room was a godsend! When we stayed there was a heatwave of up to 31 degrees!! Coming back inside was a delight.

As we were right on the Waterside, we were able to eat dessert outside on the river and enjoyed a drink as the sun went down. Lovely.

You can take drinks and some limited menu items up to your room as well and there is a snack and drink vending machine in the lobby. Right next door to McDonald's as well if you fancy that sort of thing.

We didn't do breakfast or dinner at the hotel as we had other plans in town but we did have dessert (which was smashing!) Hot chocolate brownie and sticky toffee pudding both with ice cream, it was delicious.

If busy, it's a good idea to book a table for your dinner as they can get very full. Another guest did say that the food and breakfast was very good.

In short. Lovely stay, great location, wonderful staff. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Thank you!

Hello, Is it possible to walk in to town along the canal from this hotel? Thanks.
Answer from DJBirch
Liverpool, United Kingdom136 contributions166 helpful votes
yes, head to the car park then canal, go to the left towards the road, follow it and you'll end up by the little marina on the river Avon in the town centre, it's a nice stroll but some low bridges.

We only stayed for one night and had breakfast. It was most enjoyable - the restaurant was well run - Alex was on duty and extremely efficient, polite and calm. Result was everything went very smoothly and we felt safe Covid-wise. Food was plentiful and well-cooked and presented. We did not have dinner there, instead ate at a pub in the town as we were sight-seeing. So an't comment on the meal deal option.
