Saint Pauls House hotel garners praise for its clean and comfortable rooms, although some guests have noted that upkeep could be better, particularly in the restaurant bathrooms. The hotel's prime location is a highlight for guests seeking convenience with ample parking. While the value is generally well-regarded, especially for the brunch, the additional costs for services like parking have been a point of contention.
The vibrant atmosphere, bolstered by live music, contributes to its appeal, although the noise levels sometimes detract from the experience. Service quality at Saint Pauls House is perceived variably, with commendations for staff friendliness contrasting with remarks about occasional slow service.

Detailed Reviews
I’ve visited St Paul’s House a few times and have never been disappointed in fact it seems to get better We had booked the offer with Room breakfast and £40 voucher to spend in the restaurant.
We were checked in quickly and efficiently had temperatures checked and details taken to adhere to test and trace regs but it was all done in such a way to make us feel relaxed . Rooms were all cleaned to a high standard and bar and restaurant staff are all so friendly yet attentive you manage to forget these worrying times and are able to just relax and enjoy yourself
I have to say the 3 course set menu for £20 is fabulous and if you visit mon-fri with help to eat out offer this is then £10 I defy anyone to provide better value for money . I had the prawns to start , tandoori hake with lentils which were delicious and mini donuts for desert .. all perfect . Our waiter was Tom who is the epitome of perfect customer service and provides laughs galore . The general decor of the building is effortlessly stylish and the terrace is beautiful. I can honestly recommend this hotel and restaurant to everyone and can’t wait for my return visit .. thanks St Paul’s House team !!!

What a beautiful hotel/bar,as soon as you walk into the building there are sanitizing stations waiting for you, you are then welcomed by very friendly staff who take your temperature via temperature gun then accompany you to your table. The staff let you get settled in then take your drinks orders, the drinks came very quickly. The vibe in there is really good even in lockdown.
After having a few pints with my friends we got a bit hungry and asked the staff for the food menu, there is a cracking offer on during the week.We ordered our food and could not believe the quality and quantity of the food we were served. We had a 3 course meal all for a tenner, everyone of us commented on how the food looked and tasted and how cheap it was. I recommend St Paul's House as it ticks all the boxes on everything you need, give it a try you wont be disappointed I will be back very soon, highly recommended

We booked one night at the Saint Pauls House, mainly because it was walking distance to the British Winter Beer Festival venue. The room was spacious and they has a "welcome" gift waiting in the mini-bar. This place has a very lively bar in the evening, but we did not hear it from the second floor. Windows are single panes, so you can hear street noise pretty well. Hotel location is great, in the Jewelry District and within walking distance of museums. Staff were helpful. Parking spaces are limited (and not free), so arrive early!
Will go back if in that neighbourhood again.

Visited the hotel as part of the £129 Friday night deal. The hotel is centrally located, beautifully decorated, and the food at breakfast and dinner were lovely! Very impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms, the track and trace processes and temperature checks, and the sanitiser everywhere.
Marina the receptionist was very responsive and informative. She remembered our names from the covid form when we checked in and was very helpful. We really appreciated the cake and birthday message left in the room - such a nice touch!
Our waitress at dinner (didn't catch her name but young with light blonde hair and gold chunky jewellery) was lovely and so helpful regarding my partner's allergies.
Unfortunately the service at breakfast was not as good. There was no one to tell us where to sit and no one came to our table for over 10 minutes. I tried to get the attention of a waitress (female, short dark hair) and was very rudely cut off and told "yeah, I'll get to you". She never returned despite serving other tables nearby and after a further 5 minutes I had to get up and ask at the bar for a menu. The rest of our meal we were served by the same blonde waitress as the previous night who was lovely again.
Additionally I saw that 2 of the room cleaners were not wearing masks when servicing empty rooms.

Hello, Thank you for the kind comments about the hotel, great to hear you enjoyed your stay. We're so glad the little touch of a birthday treat was appreciated so much and you found Marina to be so helpful. In regards to the not so positive comments - I can only apologise for the high standards of service to have not been carried on from the night before. These and the note re the housekeepers forgetting their masks have been brought to the manager's attention to ensure this is addressed. I am confident you'll see 100% top service from everyone next time you visit. With kind regards, Vicky

The booking at this hotel started well, with an email outlining there guidelines and instructions to stay Covid safe and also I had to fill in a form 24hrsin advance asking various questions about my health. So all good at this stage. Arrived at the hotel again everything was great in terms of information, temperature check, social distancing and clean check labels on each room. I then left the hotel to get a meal at an outside restaurant and when I returned it seemed that Covid was over. People just randomly walking in, no names taken, standing at the bar, sitting wherever they wanted. It wasn't as if the bar was quiet, it was really busy which made matters worse. We explained our concerns to one of the ladies who was on the hotel reception earlier and she asked if we wanted to speak to a Manager. We agreed that was appropriate, but no one turned up!!
This is a really good hotel, great rooms, nice bar, good staff but if you are concerned about Covid-19 it may not be the best place to stay currently. Also they told me it would be better to park in their Car Park but didn't inform me it was £12 when I could have parked on the street outside the hotel overnight for free, so be aware of this.

Hello, Thank you for your kind words in regards to your stay, but I am sorry to hear that some areas did not impress as much as others. We have strict guidelines to ensure our guests are as safe as possible and of course given the recent Government updates we have adjusted these as needed, including table service and no standing up etc. I am sorry that the manager didn't come to see you, this is most unlike our usual attentive service, so please accept our apologies for this. Yes, there is a charge for the car park, but as we have no reasonability for the street parking outside we can't promote the use of this. I do hope you'll consider another visit, we'd love to welcome you back! With kind regards, Vicky

Absolutely disgusted in this place. We booked bottomless brunch giving card details (understandable in case we didn’t turn up or cancel in advance). I have tried to cancel my booking over a week in advance (due to the rise in Covid cases and not feeling comfortable) and have been refused my deposit back. Instead told we can use it in the coming months (which I may not be comfortable doing). In my experience deposits are ALWAYS refundable as long as fair notice is given for a cancellation. This policy is disgusting in the current circumstances.

Hello, I am sorry if the deposit terms and conditions weren't made clear to you when booking. You're welcome to extend the end date of the deposit, not a problem, as we understand the ever-changing times we're all living in or you can use the deposit as "cash" to spend as you'd like (rather than it has to be another brunch booking) to offer more flexibility. With kind regards, Vicky

I arrived on a Saturday night and the bar/restaurant was too loud for my taste. There was a DJ and the amplified music was a bit much for me and spilled over into all the restaurant area. This was a shame since the food was good and I wanted to eat it as fast as possible and get out (a quiet corner would have been appreciated). The staff were friendly and the room I stayed in was quirky and interesting with some nice touches (e.g. orange juice included in a complimentary mini-bar). The breakfast the next day was good.

I have visited Saint Pauls House many times and always loved my visits there. However when I came for a Sunday Roast with my parents I was really disappointed. The restaurant nor bar were particularly busy, we sat in the terrace area (which is beautiful) due to having my dog with us and it was only us and one other table out there. However there were blow air heaters which were too much and shouldn’t be being used during current restrictions due to recirculating air.
Our order was taken quickly by a lovely waitress but she wasn’t wearing a mask and didn’t keep any kind of distance from us. Drinks arrived promptly but soon after our food arrived, however the order was wrong and they had to take it back. The correct order didn’t take too long to arrive though and it was delicious, although the portion a little stingy, less than I’ve had previously here.
However after this point, we were completely ignored, we had to ask 3 or 4 times for the bill and waited over half an hour for it to arrive, when it did it was incorrect twice and the guy couldn’t seem to work the system at all.
I think the main issue is the staff, there was a lot working for the amount of tables and they just weren’t particularly attentive, or COVID conscious, most not wearing masks and leaning in very close when talking to us. I didn’t recognise any of the staff and it seems there has been a big switchover recently which hasn’t been well managed at all. You could definitely feel they were missing the management of the young lady who used to be in charge since she has left.
Disappointing, hopefully they will step up their game again soon.

Upon arrival we were both required to check in on the NHS track & trace app and both had our temperatures taken. Good to see that they are taking the COVID restrictions so seriously.
We both were visiting for the bottomless roast dinner menu option, for which I had paid a £10 per person deposit.
The quality of the food and drinks was fab, what let down the experience was the level of service. We clearly had no specific waiter assigned to our table and there was no check back to our table during either our starter or main.
Considering we had paid for a “bottomless” drinks experience, there was a 45 minute gap between our first and second drink as the person we ordered with apparently just forgot to make our second drinks. Additionally the gap between our starters and mains was over an hour, we felt very forgotten about.
Overall value for money it was an average experience, not going to be rushing back.

Hello! Thank you for the kind words in regards to not just the food & drinks but also the Covid measures too - much appreciated! During bottomless, we have found we don't allocate a set waitress to each table and often this works like a dream, so I'm sorry to hear this wasn't the case recently, the odd drink order can get forgotten during a busy service, but still, this should have been picked up with you sooner - again I do apologise for this. I'm confident if you visit again you'd receive a much more positive experience so I hope we get to welcome you back soon. With kind regards, Vicky

We booked the deal they offer on a Friday (and a Sunday too I believe) and it’s great value. We had a lovely room, the free drinks in the mini bar were a lovely touch and breakfast was fab. Plenty of hand sanitizer stations dotted around and temperature checks being done. Felt safe and well cared for.
We also booked a table for the evening and the food was really good, tables fairly spaced out and a full menu on offer.
Every member of staff went above and beyond. From the initial email regarding the booking right through to checkout we were made to feel so welcome and looked after. Thank you all, highly recommended.
