We went on our annual Christmas meal for the Mother in law’s birthday. From the moment we entered the building to we left we all felt wanted by all the staff. The big difference from the Westmead to other places is that they may have had to put prices up every year like every other place of Business but the size, Quality and presentation has never dropped. The hotel reception and surrounding area have all been repainted and with the Christmas decorations loves so welcoming. We were shown to our table and we went to the bar to get drinks in and the staff were excellent in telling us which wine was best. Within 5-10 mins of sitting down our starters were brought out, then our mains around 30 mins later and then our desserts 30 mins later. We never once felt rushed and nothing was any trouble for the staff. After we all finished we decided to go into the lounge area which has also been redecorated and had new furniture and we all have tea/coffees with a biscuit. We be back hopefully for Mother’s Day next year but if it will be back for December next year. Well done Ben and your excellent team.

Firstly, I’m not sure the description or photos do this place justice. I am sitting in the beautifully appointed dining room with gentle music and glinting inlaid walls. I’ve just had a delicious breakfast and last night had a fantastic meal. The staff (from the chatty and helpful receptionist to the restaurant) are tremendous: solicitous and polite. We asked for Stilton sauce (not in the menu) and they rustled it up and it was delicious. The room was lovely with a huge king bed and nice size bAthroom. Down the road is a charming canal walk with a pond with leaping trout. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and I am so glad we detoured off the M5 and away from the generic motorway-side chain hotels with noisy road sounds and shuddering air conditioning. Give me an opening window and rustling trees any day of the week. Book: I cannot see how you you would be disappointed.

My daughter and I had a lovely wood fired pizza each tonight on the 2 for 1 pizza offer and we also took advantage of the 2 for 1 cocktail offer, and the espresso martinis were very nice. However, I have to say, I think £4.15 for a half pint of soda and lime is pretty extortionate - I haven't paid that much in London, so to be charged that for a hotel on the outskirts of Birmingham is a bit steep. The restaurant is not easily accessible by public transport so if you are driving I think charging this amount for a soft drink hardly encourages people to visit the restaurant. Most pubs and restaurants try and support the 'designated driver' by offering reasonably priced soft drinks, especially at this time of year. This is a shame as the food is always very good and the customer service is excellent.

2 very concerning issues happened while I stayed here. I stayed with my partner and he had to wake up and go to work at around 6am, after he had left I went back to sleep but was not completely out of it. I woke up to a man in my room, I was that scared and shocked I completely froze and couldn’t bring myself to get up and speak to him. He looked around and then left, but I was so shook up after this. This leads me on to what happened the evening before.
We had stayed with some friends and me and my friends had decided to stay on drinking and go into town, so my partner checked into the room and went to sleep. I was told when arriving back the front doors would be locked but to ring the hotel and someone would come and open then. I did and it took them a while but they came, I was concerned as I didn’t have much charge.
I had completely forgotten which room my partner was staying in, I asked if they could tell me as both our names were on the room and give a spare keycard to get in so I don’t have to wake him up. They said they don’t have those records on the reception and don’t keep key cards there. I said I knew that was untrue as when we checked in they looked this up and went into a small black filing box that I could see on the desk and got our key card out.
He then did exactly this and went into the box gave me the key and told me the number. Anyway I got to the room and the door wasn’t opening, the key card just wasn’t working so I was banging on it so my partner could let me in, no reply. With 1% left I called the front desk as the man had disappeared; he said oh yeah sorry I gave you the wrong number, then told me a completely different number.
He acted like it was a funny joke, I felt so bad if someone was in that room they must have been scared someone trying to get in during the middle of the night. Then when someone entered my room in the morning I felt even more uneasy.
Give this hotel a miss if you care about your safety and want a general decent level of customer service.

Had a lovely pizza and cocktail for our wedding anniversary this evening. Pizza was absolutely gorgeous and made fresh and the cocktails also made fresh not ready made. Even better that it was 2 for 1 on pizzas and cocktails. The staff were really friendly and happy it makes a difference when you are served with a smile.

First of all I would like to thank the team at the Westmead hotel for their caring and professional service throughout our stay. We stayed for one night with breakfast included. The room was spacious and had everything we needed - coffee making facilities/shower gel etc. The hotel is large and has a real homely feel and that was apparent as soon as we entered reception as staff were helpful and efficient. Our sleep was good, no noise from the outside window and the bed was very large and comfortable. We had breakfast which was ordered from a menu. I ordered scrambled eggs with a choice of bread. The eggs were cooked well and it was nice to take the time to order breakfast rather than it be a buffet where it could get cold! My partner ordered the Westmead breakfast and he was able to swap and change items without a fuss! Great service.
Thank you Westmead. I have now booked a Christmas themed afternoon tea! I am looking forward to seeing you all again soon!

We held our wedding in July 2022. From start to finish the staff were fantastic, really informative about the process of booking the wedding package. The package was priced very competitively to other hotels in Birmingham with option to use their own partner DJ and decorator or source your own. Once booked, Simon and Janine were fantastic in responding and accommodating any amends we needed. We made an evening of the food tasting which as my Husband and I are both vegan they accommodated with a fantastic menu. The food really was delicious. On the day our Master of ceremonies Katie took charge and helped us to ensure the day ran smoothly. Katie was fantastic, really reassuring and organised everyone so well. We decided to go with the hotels partner decorator Claire and we had a pastel colour scheme. The whole place was decorated beautifully. We had a standard package plus some extras that included a stocked sweet cart, wishing well postbox and giant light up LOVE letters. It all looked so beautiful and Claire did it all. Simon took the extra things we had brought like the placecards, favours and table games and had them laid our for us. There is a small garden area for photos which have turned out beautiful as well as a flower wall in the bar area that made a gorgeous background. During the wedding breakfast the food and drinks came it in great time, again our vegan option was fantastic and from our non-vegan guests the rest of the food was delicious too. No complaints at all. After the wedding breakfast the room was turned around for the reception which included laying out the light up dance floor and rearranging the tables for partying the night away. We also decided to go with the hotels partner DJ Paul who had called us beforehand for special requests first dance etc. Paul was excellent at reading the room and keeping the party going. We also had a last song request that he agreed to play before everyone started leaving - he timed it well and had everyone up. There was also a buffet for the reception which was again delicious and timed perfectly. All in all the whole day went so well and we can't thank them all enough for making our days so special and stress-free!

Yesterday we celebrated the christening of our 5th grandaughter at The Westmead Hotel. The room was beautifully prepared in accordance with our daughter and partners request, the tables were laid out giving everyone plenty of space to relax and safely socialise. The sunday lunch was served on time and without any bother at all, nothing was too much trouble for the staff led by Stuart. At its conclusion everyone was well fed and happy, in particular the other grand children who had a wail of a time! Big thanks to Ben and his staff for helping make our special day that little bit more unforgettable.

We celebrated my wife’s surprise 60th birthday here , with over 100 guests attending and I simply cannot praise The Westmead, Ben , Janine and their entire team enough. From our first planning meeting to the event itself , everyone of them went above and beyond to help make it the incredible success that it was. Following recommendations I chose their brilliant resident DJ, Paul, Their highly recommended Sweet trolley lady and their delicious hot and cold buffet ,together with the wonderful overnight accommodation and breakfast , which was enjoyed by several of our guests, the entire party was a completely overwhelming success. The helpfulness, kindness, attention to detail and the commitment of all the team was so noticeable in everything they did and the fact that my wife had the most wonderful Birthday ever ( her words, not mine ) was due in no small part to the work that the whole team put in . I would highly recommend The Westmead and can’t wait to return there at the earliest opportunity. 10/10

There was a large family from Switzerland staying while I was there, I overheard conversation and the hotel were extremely flexible about family rooms and the parents seemed really pleased.
