Detailed Reviews
I stayed with my family for 2 nights and it was absolutely amazing. The rooms had lots of space and an en-suite bathroom. The receptionist was really lovely and helpful, she leaves breakfast out in the morning from 8-9 and there is an open kitchen with everything that you will need.
Westbourne Lodge also has the Bull Ring shopping centre near by, and lots of places to eat and explore.

I've stayed in hotels across the world and this by far has the best hostess - Norma. She does everything in her power to make you as comfortable as possible and I couldn't feel more at home, whilst working away from home.
The rooms are spacious, clean with a comfortable bed and the heating is just right.
Breakfast was laid out just for me, every morning which was a lovely touch.
The road is very peaceful and quiet and travel to and from City Hospital made this the perfect location.
I've stayed in other hotels in the area which offer a substandard service in comparison. I wouldn't doubt about returning here in the future and can highly recommend the Westbourne Lodge.

Just held one of our regalar residents meetings at Westbourne Lodge on Fountain Road. Norma the owner once again provided unrivalled hospitality and we can not thank her enough.
She maintains her property in a excellent condition. The interior is spotless, with a beautiful calm ambiance. Oh and don’t forget to spend some time in her beautiful garden!
Thank you once again Norma.

This is a great place to stay and so convenient with busses into the centre of Birmingham at the end of the road. Norma is a brilliant host and is always on hand to help with anything needed. The room I had was clean and spacious with a lovely bay window looking out to the quiet road.

Great find in this part of Birmingham with lovely outdoor seating in a beautiful peaceful garden. Norma was most helpful and couldn't do enough to make us comfortable. Close to Botanical Gardens and easy to get to and from the town centre on the bus, car or taxi. We even had an upgrade to a superior room as the double room wasn't available. Thank you for a great stay.

Westbourne Lodge is a well-appointed brick house in a leafy street just off the busy Hagley Road. I prefer B&Bs to corporate hotels and chose to stay there overnight on a business trip. When I booked I tried to secure a room overlooking the garden, but was refused on the grounds that all rooms were quiet. Not strictly true: if you open a front window (necessary as there was central heating on a warm May evening) the traffic noise from the nearby road intrudes. I overheard a new arrival being told that she had been given a back room because it was 'nice and quiet.' My other complaint about the room is the thin curtains which let in streetlight and dawn: by 5.30am the room was bright as day!
As I booked through Late bookings, breakfast was extra. £7.50 for a bowl of packet cereal and a pot of tea seemed a little steep, but what really stung was being told after breakfast that a long-term guest had organic porridge with fruit and honey made for him each day 'oh, I should have told you you could order it last night!' Long term guests also had their shirts ironed. I think if you stay for longer this would be a better deal. The landlady reinforced this impression by saying 'you are only here for one night' at least four times during my visit!

I stayed at the Westbourne while on a brief trip to the UK recently. I found the staff pleasant and welcoming, and the hotel itself comfortable and warm. Excellent breakfast in the morning served by friendly staff. I would stay there again if I found myself in Birmingham.
I particularly liked that it was pointed out to me where to get extra tea, coffee and milk for my room. Many establishments ration you to the two they leave on the tray.

Very pleasant little Hotel/B&B located just back of the Hagley Road. Rooms were comfortable. Staff/owner very friendly, helpful and efficient. Cooked English breakfast was very good and there were a range of other options. There is free car parking in front of hotel and on street so that was very convenient. Overall we were very happy with the hotel particularly the service and the breakfast and it was good value for money.

We stayed at Westbourne Lodge overnight when visiting our daughter at the University of Birmingham. The place was clean but the decor was tired and there was a distinct aroma of damp in the old building. There was plenty of space in the family room with a double and a single bed. Kettle and cups were provided in the room with access to milk, tea and sugar in the bar on the ground floor. The bathroom was clean enough and the shower was working well. Breakfast was charged as an extra which did not make sense in a B&B establishment. We will try somewhere else next time we visit I expect

Thanks to Norma and her team for looking after me when I was let down by the ludicrously misnamed Edgbaston Palace!
My superior room was spacious and light, with a modern bathroom and good shower. The bed was very comfortable, I could have stayed there all day!
A proper breakfast was served with a smile, and the rate was good value.
