The hotel itself is clean, modern, and provides all the essentials for a comfortable stay. What really made our visit stand out was the exceptional service from the receptionist, Asfeer. When a room change was needed, he handled it efficiently and with a cheerful, professional attitude. His helpfulness added a personal touch to our experience.
Overall, Travelodge Moor Street offers great value for money in an ideal spot, with a team that genuinely cares about its guests. Highly recommended for anyone planning a stay in Birmingham!
I made the booking for my friend and I to stay in two separate rooms but didn't expect to be put on different floors. When checking in, I had to ask if our rooms could be changed to be on the same floor, which was sorted straight away.
When we went to our floor, the smell of weed was very unpleasant and even more so once my friend entered his allocated room. Causing us to return to reception to request my friend could be moved to a different room. Again, this was sorted straight away.
We left the hotel around 7pm and got back there around 2am to find my bathroom floor was flooded. We went to reception and informed them, the member of staff came straight to the room and said it was because someone had showered. I told them I had not been there all night and had showered about 8 hours earlier but they kept replying that it had happened because someone had showered.
There was also a bad odor, possibly from the drains in the bathroom from the moment I first entered the room.
Cleanliness and wear and tear is to be expected in a budget hotel.
Stay may have been better if room was on a higher floor rather than as close to the bus stops below as possible.
It was clean and very well run with pleasant and helpful staff and the vestibule was cool with air con!
However...the rest of the hotel was stifling in the current heatwave and as the windows barely open, the fan provided was of little use. Very pleased to find someone had the sense to put the quilts away and just put sheets on the bed as travelodge quilts are very heavy.
This is a fairly new Travelodge and had clearly been built to make the most use of the city centre space as the rooms were the tiniest I have ever stayed in. Thank good ness I was on my own this time as two in the room would have been too much
I had rung earlier to ask for a "quiet side" room and on arrival had just that- apart from the enormous and very loud fan situated on a building across the courtyard. I immediately asked for a swap and was given one with no problems. However this overlooked the green side of the building and it wasn't until later in the evening I realised this was used by the homeless community as an outside dormitory. I think in this day and age and in a large and allegedly affluent city, it is appalling we can let these poor people exist like this. A disgrace to us as a society. Of course there was conversation among them until into the early hours so avoid this side of the hotel at all costs. I have stayed in over a hundred budget hotels in Gt Britain in past few years and this is definitely one I would avoid due to its position.
Sorry Travelodge but Moor Street lets you down.
I also think it is about time Travelodge moved into the 21st century and provided hair dryers in the rooms as a norm. Premier Inn have had these for years. maybe Travelodge think it is preferable to be slaked in wine - as bottle openers fixed in place, rather than be clean and fresh!
Tea and coffee provided and a neat bottle opener on the side of the desk.
You can always rely on travelodge for an offordable stay
