OMG - what a place. Situated in the centre of Birmingham and so easy to get to. I am a 70 year old female travelling alone from Spain visiting family before Christmas. I was nervous before I got there but my nerves were so unnecessary. The Staff were so friendly and helpful. The suite was spotlessly clean and had everything (and more) that you would expect from a hotel. Breakfast was superb from a full English to Continental. Every conceivable type of milk, tea, coffee etc freely available with helpful staff to deal with any help you may require.
I have often stayed in the centre of Birmingham but will never stay anywhere else again. I felt safe, looked after and well pleased with the facilities offered - there is nothing else to say except “thank you” and “ I will be back”.

Located in walking distance to the Birmingham New Street Station the hotel is a perfect getaway .The . staff is excellent and they really make sure you are well looked after .Breakfast is a good spread and . they have surprise on the house free drinks and snacks in the evening .
Wifi runs very well and rooms are cleaned every day except weekend where one has to notify them if you wish the rooms to be cleaned .
Downside ..rooms are too small as within the room is also kitchenette and it makes the space compressed .
All in all still a great lovely place to stay .

We had a three night stay in a one bedroom suite at the Staybridge in Birmingham. The suite was a generous size. The separate bedroom had a full size double bed, with desk and chair, and sufficient hanging and shelf space for our clothes and suitcase. The bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet at night. The bathroom had a good sized bath, with overhead shower, and ample towels provided. The living and kitchen room was spacious. It was furnished with a desk, sofa and armchair. The kitchen was well equipped and stocked with cutlery and crockery as well as kitchen utensils. There was an additional dining counter space with chairs so we could eat meals there.
We thought the breakfasts served on the second floor were very good, with a nice range of hot and cold dishes. Vegetarian sausages were available on request. Hot drinks were also available during the day.
Staff service was very warm and friendly.
The Staybridge Suites are good value, given the amount of space and facilities available, and that breakfasts and drinks are included.

A slightly awkward stay, but average for the price paid, for 2 rooms. Upon arrival at reception the hotel did not inform us about the £50 deposit/pre-authorisation that the hotel charges upon check in. I feel that they should make this clearer on the website and booking platforms. But it was eventually resolved, but we were still a bit disappointed and let down.

There was also some tram extension work going on in the vicinity of the hotel during the night, as there were lots of men and women in orange suits, but they weren't doing any drilling or loud noises during the late and early hours of the night/morning. It looked mainly like the night shift, inspection work or safety checks.

The bathroom was in very good condition though, and seemed very clean and tidy. The furniture in the main bedroom/lounge area seemed like if it was a few years old, and seemed worn and like the fabric had been used a lot. When I initially came into the room, I looked at the bed area, and the nightstands, and they seemed very dated and a bit worn, they also looked slightly scruffy.

I had to use the isolators, to switch off the kitchen area fridge and the stove, as there were noises coming from them during the night. The air con and fridge was quite noisy, so I had to leave the key card out to make it quiet enough for me to sleep. Also there was some corridor sounds, and the internal soundproofing wasn't that good. I could hear some cars and motorbikes throughout the night occasionally too. So I only had 2 to 3 hours sleep max.

A bit of another downside, was we had to be up at around 06:30am for an early train from New Street Station to London. The breakfast was a bit basic, but it was functional. It had bacon, sausages, eggs, tea and coffee and fruit juices. We didn't eat much that morning as we had to leave quite early, and because it was quite basic.

There was a slight smell of weed in my room that I noticed during the night of our stay. I brought this to the staff's attention at check out. However, my family friend (We had 2 seperate rooms), felt a bit upset that the receptionist was a bit blunt with her, when my friend wanted us to leave to get our train, and the staff member said "But the gentleman feels that it is relevant though"

Overall, an average stay, but I would only advise people to do a reasonable amount of research, before choosing to stay at this hotel. A few plus's for me, was the hotel is 4-5 minutes walking distance from New Street Station. And my room had an excellent view of Moor Street Railway Station and it's surrounding railway lines (I am a train/transport fan).

Room Tip: The soundproofing needs improving. And try to ask for a higher floor, as it's a bit more bearable.

Just had a fantastic weekend staying here - great location for shopping & restaurants. Staff were very helpful and easy to check in. Room was a good size, complimentary shower gel and soap available which smelt amazing and was nice to have a kitchenette - hot drinks and filtered water was available at all times and lots of seating to have packed lunch with friends. Was nice to have a self service buffet breakfast and there was a good choice. Would definatey recommend this hotel.

First time we had stayed at Staybridge Suites and was very impressed and surprised by the "free" extras of drinks and snacks early evening and the very good quality buffet breakfast. Rooms are well equipped with work desk and armchair with the added bonus of a kitchen area if you were staying longer. Overall great for a longer stay but excellent fir a one night stay too.

I have traveled to Birmingham several times on Business & always put up at an IHG property; this time I decided to try Staybridge Suites & let me tell you i did not for once regret my decision. The room is well lit, has all the utensils & amenities that would help cook a decent meal, is located in the midst of the City Center with all shops in close vicinity & has a decent bed for a peaceful sleep. The breakfast served is not exhaustive but decent enough to prep you for the day ahead & tea/coffee is available all day. The people at the front desk are quite helpful & there is nothing I can think of which made my stay less than 5 stars. If you stay for the 1st time & travel by car - locating the place could pose a little challenge - especially on a rainy day - as the car drops you a few feet away; its located adjacent to the Pound Store. Waiting to come back again.

We had a lovely weekend stay. The hotel is in a great situation, just up from New St Station and close to all the bars & shops. Booking in was quick & easy, even with a friendly trainee attending to us. The room was lovely, very clean & well kept. The kitchen was well kitted out with a fridge, stove & microwave, it was well equipped and it even had a small dishwasher. The bed was comfy & the shower was good. Breakfast had a great choice from cooked breakfast to continental. There was complimentary coffee & tea 24/7 in reception. The staff were friendly & helpful. We found this hotel quiet, considering how many floors & rooms there are we hardly saw or heard anyone, other than at breakfast. We would definitely return to the hotel. For the price, how lovely the hotel is & where it’s situated, you can’t go wrong.

Been staying here a lot over the years for weekend breaks. It's in a great location, right in the heart of the city, step out and you're right on Corporation Street so its good for hopping onto the Metro. The breakfast is really good, lots of variety from a cooked option, cereal, to porridge (Also has enough for vegetarians). The room is very spacious, good kitchen facilities which are very useful and really feels like a home from home. One of the best things about staying at Staybridge is the wonderful staff, especially Andreea. She's incredibly helpful, kind and lovely to have a chat to. We've always been made to feel welcome, and would definitely keep staying here in the future! Danny & Rachel x

We stayed in a one bedroom suite for 2 nights, on the fifth floor, with a 2 year old toddler. Overall our stay was ok, the apartment had what we needed, was well located and noise was minimal at night. Cleanliness was ok but could be improved eg stains on armchairs in living room, dust on shower curtain rail. Good range of items at breakfast. However a couple of issues we flagged to reception:
At the breakfast buffet on our last morning, I filled up my toddler’s milk cup with milk from the fridge, before passing it to another guest, and then filling up his cereal with the same bottle. Luckily, before he’d drunk much of the milk, the other guest came over to tell me she thought the milk was off and had seen me fill up a sippy cup with it. My husband tasted it and confirmed it was sour and fizzy. I went to check the fridge and there were several bottles of milk that had gone past their clearly stated sell by dates, including one that didn’t have a cap on. I immediately told breakfast staff who had been moving bottles around with ample opportunity to check dates, and didn’t receive an apology. Later we told reception, they apologised but no remedial action offered. Had the other guest not informed me, my son and other guests could have been very sick. Staff need to be trained to check sell by dates on items at offer at breakfast, before putting them out for guests to use. We had another issue with the travel cot supplied, it didn’t have a proper mattress, just a folded up board. Reception did offer to bring up towels/sheets to fold and act as a mattress but I thought this was poor. We ended up buying a travel cot mattress for our stay. These combined issues affected our stay so can’t give more than 2 stars.
