Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hotel is good location for theatres and new st station.Greeted warmly by reception staff. There are 18 floors with 3 lifts servicing them and were quick. Standard room supplied with the usual tea coffees etc and two bottles of free spring water. Breakfast was very good and a very good selection of cereals & hot food.If wanting something special worth adding to your list if visiting Birmingham.

Hotel's Favourite
Difficult to fault the Raddison Blu. An easy walk from Birmingham New Street and Bullring shops. Ideally placed for the Hippodrome and Alexandra Theatres which are only 2mins walk away in either direction. NEC (or whatever they are calling it now) is easy train link from New Street, and NIA (Utilita Area) a 15min walk. Ideal central spot for most things in fact. The staff are very attentive, personable, polite and quick. Really could not fault them. The hotel is not new but has clearly been regularly upgraded and stylishly renovated. The rooms are modern and slick. We were upgraded - no idea why! - to a suite (Room 1503) which was VAST and gave massive 15th floor views over Birmingham's rather urban landscape. It was only the 2 of us on this occasion but, if we came back with the children, this suite would make real sense with it's pull out bed and separate sitting room. Room tea making, coffee machines, irons, hairdryers, even a trouser press, all included in the room, looked new and working. If you are really picky, you might say small areas of the decorations looked less than 10/10, duvet for hot bodied people like me is too heavy and no blanket options available. But nothing that makes me want to take anything away from our very enjoyable stay.

I've been to Birmingham city several times over the years due to friends and business here, stayed at various hotels normally around Birmingham New Street. Radisson Blu is hands down the best hotel in this town in terms of service, location, cleanliness, and value for money. My advice is to download their free app, sign up for their free membership to collect points and get the best price especially if you know you are going to Birmingham in advance anyway. Do that and you'd find yourself getting great value for a decent sized, luminous, clean and comfy room with full sized windows, and bestoutstanding service - professional, hardworking and kind- which is so important. And they hire enough people so guests do not feel rushed when they are checking in and out or asking questions. The staff make an effort to remember repeat guests... You know, the good old traditional hospitality when we check into a nice hotel where everyone is attentive, smartly dressed and courteous.

I always choose to stay at this hotel. The location is fantastic, just a short walk all from the Bullring and China town. The beds are extremely comfy, the staff are very friendly and always accommodating. Great breakfast options and very attentive staff.

Good time spend there , the house reduction was wonderful and the place very clean. Just the parking night mere ,you have to park 500m+ away from the hotel but then that's the downside of staying in a hotel at the heart of the city .but it was clean and quiet.

Great location, very close to train station and other amenities. Room was fantastic and great view. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Spun the wheel and got a free bottle of Prosecco which topped off the stay fantastically! Definitely recommend !

I usually stay in a lot of hotels for work purposes. But on this occasion, it was a family trip. Being at the centre of Birmingham I thought it would be more convenient - but I was very wrong. The parking is very inconvenient, their loading and unloading bay taken by specially treated people making it very stressful if you have piles of cars behind you especially with taxi drop offs as it’s a one way system. Upon calling the reception to ask where the parking is, I was informed it was next to the casino which I took quite literal - next to it. It was in fact, the other side of the road with very little signage but also be warned not to go into the new street parking. Aside from that, the hotel is okay. There are plenty of hotels in Birmingham with their own parking and may even end up cheaper for you. Save your money and go elsewhere if you’re looking for convenience with the same level of “hotel experience/facilities”.

Thank you for your review. I understand how the car parking can be perceived as frustrating but please allow me to provide a little more context and clarification around the parking facilities available to our guests. I feel I have to respectfully contest your point about communication and also around parking for "special guests". We work extremely hard as a business providing lengthy and ongoing training for our team to ensure every guest feels valued as an individual. We have 211 bedrooms and conference space for up to 200 guests, so our 5 dedicated car parking spaces do get sold very early, on a first-come, first-serve basis. These are chargeable and available to all guests. We advertise the car parking available to our guests via our hotel website, in our pre-stay emails, and via our telephone switchboard messaging. This communication clearly states "Britannia Grand Central" car park, along with the correct postcode for convenience. We had previously had an agreement with the NCP you have mentioned directly behind the hotel, until such a point the car park went into new ownership and charged our guests £30 per 12 hours I hope most would agree that our new arrangement at Britannia, though an extra 100m walk, is far better value for our guests at just £9.50 for 24-hours. In such a central location and with 24-hour security (which other car parks in the area do not have), we believe this to be the best option available to us, and our valued guests.

Reception staff were so helpful with my booking and request for early check-in. The room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast choice and quality was excellent. All in all a great experience in a modern hotel around the corner from the theatre and the station.
