The staff are friendly and do what they can to make your experience the most enjoyable it can be. The food is very tasty. The rooms are very clean and sanitary plus the beds are comfy. We visited this hotel to go to a concert at the Utilita..The hotel was exceptionally clean and tidy..rooms were very comfortable and warm. The breakfast was amazing loads to choose from. It was about a 15 minutes walk to the city but taxis are just outside if you fancy one. The staff were friendly & helpful and the Hotel Manager Edwin was just the nicest man, he went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect and it was. He's a credit to the hotel..we'll definitely be back again..thank you. 💞

Great hotel in the centre of Birmingham with excellent facilities and a FABULOUS staff. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt very well looked after, even though there 100s of people staying at the hotel. Special thanks to Mel on reception, Si in the bar and Carolyn in restaurant. Great hotel. Love the simplicity of the rooms which are perfect for a good price. Everything you need with no frills but at the same time modern and comfortable. Check in was great, friendly staff behind the desk and even free cookies being provided! Room temp was good, comfy bed and relatively quiet (other than it being bin day). Definitely order the breakfast, was very tasty.

Where to begin with this review...I'd honestly recommend to avoid this hotel! Travelled up from London to find car parking isn't on site, it's a short walk away (which would have been fine had we no luggage. It would be helpful if they provided a short stay bay just to unload your luggage). The rooms are ROASTING hot. This is a "4*" hotel that doesn't even have basic facilities such as an AC unit, something in which even Premier Inn & Travelodge hotels have (and 2 budget chain hotels I would recommend staying in over this hotel). There was one fan in the room, which just circulated the hot air. When we asked in reception for another fan, the gentlemans response was 'don't you have one in your room?'...we did, but it made no difference. We ended up having 2 fans, which didn't reduce the temperature at all. We had to resort to wetting bath towels & putting them on our body to try and cool us down (I genuinely feel sorry for the housekeeping staff having to make up the rooms in those conditions! And I thank them for doing so) To end this on a somewhat positive note, the location is great-a short walking distance to the city centre …

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to make contact and for sharing your recent experience following your visit to Conference Aston. Naturally we are disappointed to learn that you were dissatisfied with elements of your stay. With regards to the car parking facilities, our car park is located on campus as we are and is a short walking distance away from the main entrance, which is also mentioned on the booking site you booked through. When contacted we are happy to assist and allow our guests to drop of their luggage of via the back entrance. We appreciate the extreme hot and humid temperatures in September have been unprecedented. Our hotel rooms do offer fans and our housekeepers take additional steps to keep rooms cool, such as leaving the curtains closed and opening windows to air rooms prior to guest arrival. We apologise if we did not offer our cooling gel pads to help manage the heat, I can assure you, we will be providing more training to the staff members to ensure all options are offered to our guest to make their stay more comfortable. In addition, we do keep the air cooling system under review with guest feedback and balance this with our sustainability commitments as an ISO14001 accredited venue. Ate in the restaurant of this hotel. Service was amazing with staff who knew the menu and also had astute people skills. But Mumma Mia! I had a blue steak here. Most hear me say the word blue and mistake it for the words “medium rare” or “rare”. Maybe I’m not making myself clear but few understand Blue. I’m told someone called Anas here is the chef and cooked it perfectly. I’ve eaten at a number of Michelin starred restaurants but this steak equalled their attempts and at a fraction of the price. Very satisfied.

What a lovely hotel! A special thanks to the reception staff both Siri and Mel. Me and my friend stayed here for a concert in town on a Saturday evening. It was so close to the Bull Ring and the other main ammenities. The pool,sauna and steam room were included for free which we used Sunday morning it was lovely and the oldest building in Birmingham,such lovely character. Parking was at Millennium Point literally 5 mins walk away from the hotel they also provided another car park nearby. Will definitely stay here again. Thankyou 😁 Linz and Nikky

Stayed here for 1 night. Reception staff incredibly friendly. Cookies on the reception counter too - a nice touch. The room was small, but comfortable. Ate in the restaurant. There are 2 pubs in walking distance but were incredibly busy due to graduations taking place. Food at the hotel restaurant was incredibly expensive. £19 for fish and chips and £18 for a chicken burger. Food quality was poor/mediocre. My colleagues didn’t like the fish and chips. Definitely not good value for money. For 1 starter, 3 mains, 3 desserts and drinks, bill came to £120 which I thought was astonishingly expensive. Breakfast was strange. Buffet style breakfast, but served to you by a server. Would have preferred to have helped myself and got what I wanted rather than what I was given. I suggest venturing further afield for food or ordering in. Rooms and staff made the stay enjoyable. Would return but wouldn’t eat in restaurant again.…

I can assure you that we pride ourselves on both the quality of food and service we provide. If for any reason quality issues arise we ask that it is reported at the time, which enables us to rectify issues on the spot. We served numerous guests on the same day and have not received any other adverse comments. I would like to point out that we have a varied range of dishes to choose from and that our menu prices are on par or lower than our neighbouring establishments, we continuously benchmark against other venues in the city to remain competitive when it comes to pricing, whilst changing our offer quarterly to ensure seasonality and provenance of all dishes. We have a wide selection of breakfast items readily available which caters to all dietary needs, with additional cooked to order items like, fried eggs, pouched eggs, omelettes, black pudding, veg Sausages etc available upon request, these are not pre-cooked to reduce the impact on food waste. As a company we feel it’s vital to have interaction with our guests to ensure team members engage and deliver on customer service, it is for this reason we serve our cooked breakfast, each customers requests is catered to with a smile, and as many times the guest wishes to return.
