We had the pleasure of staying for 3 nights. The owner Joanne is hospitable and reacts quickly to any issues or requests you may have. The location of Portreeves is ideal for exploring Arundel and the River Adur is at the back of the property. The garden is lovely with apple trees (excellent apple variety) and a superb deck. Unfortunately for us it was not the best weather for sitting out. One bright morning, the dawn chorus was beautiful with a robin, a blue tit and a sparrow sat in a row on the fence 😊. There is a huge choice of eating places but we found the Beefeater to be the best value and has excellent ambience, pleasant staff and wines (red). It is about 12 mins walk away. All in all a very pleasant stay despite the terrible weather

I found this on Google search, and we've just had the best 3 night stay. There are 2 one bed apartments, both are on the ground floor. We had Calceto, which is at the front. You've got everything you could need, it's all high spec and very clean. Joanne (the proprietor) is so helpful without being intrusive. We really enjoyed our stay. You can see the castle from the front and back. Arundel Town is an easy walk away with a large selection of eateries and independent shops. Perfect!

My daughter and I enjoyed our stay at this wonderful place. Location is great, so near the Arundel train station and town centre. The apartment had a patio and garden and a footpath behind the house leads to the downs where I managed to catch a beautiful sunrise one morning. Joanne and Jeremy were warm, friendly and helpful with information. Really enjoyed our stay. Would recommend this place.

We stayed in the garden apartment which had great views and access to a fabulous large garden, with a patio and plenty of garden furniture choices. As there was ample parking and the property is a short walk along the river, or road to the centre of town we did not need to use our car at all. Joanne is a helpful and friendly host who let us park the car when we arrived early and leave it after we checked out so we could have extra time exploring Arundel.

It was a pleasure for my wife and I to stay at Portreeves for a couple of nights at the end of November. Joanne (our host) was agreeable to an early check in for our arrival which was greatly appreciated and she was extremely helpful and efficient with her communications about our booking and she gave us a very warm welcome on arrival. The pint of milk in the fridge and a small bowl of chocolates were a nice touch. We had been assigned the front of the two apartments which was very comfortable and well equipped and the central heating worked well which was important given the time of year! There was a table and 2 chairs in the front garden. We could have had access to the back garden, if required. The location is superb as the apartment is a 5 minute walk to the bottom of the High Street with its shops, tea/coffee bars and restaurants etc and similar too, for Arundel station in the other direction.

This is the perfect place for a West Sussex break. Well designed and equipped apartment although quite ‘compact’ and great outdoor space to the rear and front of the apartment. 5 min walk to the lovely town of Arundel with its castle and plethora of interesting independent shops and eateries. A riverside path runs along the back of Portreeves, very handy for dog walks and fantastic views of the castle. Quiet and dog friendly beaches at West Beach in Littlehampton and Goring/Ferring only 10-15 mins drive away. Jo was a pleasure to deal with and clearly genuinely cares about her guests having the best time, which we did !

Apartment was great and homely. Everything you need for your stay. Joanne is such a lovely lady and helped us out with local info and other questions. Couldn't asked for anything more . Location was a short walk for the town and backed onto river for the great dog walks. Perfect and quiet, which is what we wanted. Definitely going back again.

Booking experience was great with Joanne answering all the questions we had. Location is excellent, a few minutes walk from the centre of Arundel, with easy access and plenty of parking. The easy access does mean that there is some traffic noise, as the building is just a few hundred yards from the main road, but this is not excessive. Apartment is very well equipped and was just right for our five night stay. The only thing dropping one point from a excellent rating was that that we thought the mattress was past its best, so sleep quality could have been better. Joanne did comment that we were the first to have raised it as an issue and would be checking it out. Would we stay again, yes!

Just want to say how I really enjoyed my stay at Port reeves. It is one of the best holiday destinations I have stayed in fact "the best." So comfortable so clean and Joanne is the perfect hostess. I have stayed here number of times and hope to again. The accommodation is so well equipped everything you need. Lovely garden and very quiet but just a short walk from the town centre.
