Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went for a family Sunday lunch, food was amazing, fresh beef was bought out, roast chicken was made for my son who didn’t eat the other meats served in the carvery, desserts were lovely and the service was outstanding, will definitely be returning.

Whilst the decor feels a little dated, overall look is good. I had a full English for breakfast, cooked to perfection. Main attraction, the staff, nothing is too much trouble. At 1.30am I popped out for a cigarette, ended up spilling tea all over it, then the night manager offered me one of his cigarettes, that’s service for you. Thank you ‘the white swan‘ for a lovely stay.

A handy stop next to the A27, parking ample, check in smooth, room was basic but clean, bathroom very small. The whole bedroom lacked any warmth and felt soulless, The restaurant and hotel needs an update and some tlc This place could be very nice but needs some money spent on it.

Came here for a meal with my dad and was excellent food and drink. Staff was very helpful. They didn’t have any roasts left but no trouble as I didn’t want a roast but a steak. Had a starter and we both shared. Excellent meal overall.would go again if in area

Came here tonight for work Christmas party. We had a three-coarse meal, but each option we were given for the starter all sounded worse and the last - I chose salmon mousse purely because I had to do something, it went uneaten. For the main I had a turkey roast. Turkey, pig in blanket, carrot, parsnip, stuffing and sprouts. I was hungry so ate it all (except the sprouts) As I really expected from a venue catering to so many people, it tasted like packet turkey, and there was only a dribble of gravy on the meat which was so dry! None for the rest either. The pig in blanket had an unusual taste, not overly pleasant but as I said, I was hungry. The potatoes were very soft inside and out, not left in the oven long enough. The carrot was ok, it was essentially one whole carrot, sliced lengthwise (same for the parsnip) it was my first time tasting a parsnip and it was ok. For dessert I had the chocolate mousse, the moose itself was nice, but what they failed to mention, was the numerous maraschino cherries hidden in the chocolate. It was nice on the whole, but much too rich for me so I couldn’t finish it. As you would expect for a Christmas party, it turned into a disco after the meal, which is certainly not my scene! I had a drink at the bar (nice Birria Moretti) and a friend convinced me to do a shot with her (tequila, not so nice)

We had our Christmas party at The White Swan this weekend and decided to stay the night too. The food was yummy and hot, there is a large choice of wine here and the staff are really fun and happy. The bedroom was nicely decorated with a comfy bed. It was my first time here but I will definitely go back. The pub had a really cosy feel to it, with lots of Christmas decorations!

Impromptus stay over in Arundel which is a beautiful location. We dropped into the White Swan for a late bite to eat and they were very welcoming so we decided to stay overnight. Very happy with the room, a little small but perfect for our needs. Clean and tidy. Breakfast was very satisfactory with lots of choice but coffee was a little…meh! Overall we thought it was great value and we’d be happy to come back. Thank you.

We have been to the White Swan a few times now, both as a staying group and just for a meal. I have reviewed it previously, with favourable comments. However, I have just been again this weekend with a group and it was quite poor compared to previous times. We were served dinner, admittedly there was around fifty four of us. A good proportion of the people I spoke to were all saying that the main course was brought to the tables barely warm and on stone cold plates. I believe our organiser even sent his back. Comments were also made with regard to the quality and quantity of the food in comparison to our previous visit. Through no fault of her own, my wife was unable to attend due to illness. All of our menu choices were made well in advance because of the size of the group. Her starter was brought to the table and we shared it amongst us. Her main course and dessert never appeared. I paid a fairly significant price for her meal, which never came. Someone made the decision to hold it back. I was not asked if it should be brought to table, so either it was wasted or a staff member had a free dinner. On this visit I also found a supply of hot water to my room somewhat challenging We return in February, let’s hope that there are improvements

Such a lovely stay… the lighting outside was really nice. Food was great, room was clean and bed comfy.. staff really friendly and would definitely stay again. Loads of parking spaces and only a throw from Arundel itself.. the cost was very reasonable and we left having enjoyed a very nice breakfast. Would recommend a stay
