Great location, easy to drive to, parking on site, all reasonably priced. Staff were lovely, room was clean and comfortable, and the bar sells 24/7 pizza what's not to love! There's a couple of real good places to eat and drink nearby and is only a 15 minute walk to the centre or a 15 minute walk to the Brudenell

Room Tip: I'd recommend Kirkstall Brewery for pizza and drinks!

I am a fan of Premier Inns but, having stayed here a couple of years ago we decided to stay again and weren't disappointed. We got a really warm welcome from Tim at reception who went out of his way to recommend a room. He told us of nearby restaurants. Other people have described the rooms. Ours had twin beds and was quite spacious. Very comfortable bed and good shower. Not a lot of storage space and, surprisingly, no drawers at all. A drawer in the desk would be useful to avoid clutter on the surface.
The breakfast (included in the price of the room) was limited but more than adequate for our needs. The porridge in a pot was very tasty and the guy in charge is a real comedian and very helpful.
They don't do dinner but we went to the Indian directly opposite which is very good.

Stayed here this weekend while visiting the city for the Emmerdale studio tour. I did stay here previously with work but unfortunately the fantastic Chinese place nearby has now closed down. Aside from the next door Indian place there is a void in eateries unless you head towards town.
On arrival the guy on reception ( sorry - didn't get a name) was extremely helpful, explaining where the best rooms were, providing a map and pointing out the best - and worst - walking routes into the city. On check out today again he was helpful, allowing us to leave the car in the car park while doing the tour.

The room was clean, tidy and with plenty of space. Breakfast was plentiful and well presented, only suffering from the usual hamfisted individuals not sufficiently skilled enough to keep the utensils, etc to the correct item.

Good nights stay in a handy place to visit the city.

If you’re arriving from the train station it’s about twenty minutes walk, or from the airport a thirty minute ride on the city bus. A sizeable car park also means that it should be a convenient location for most. Reception staff are always friendly and welcoming with the check in process never taking long. It’s the same staff who serve the bar though, so if you do time it badly during a busy period then there can be a wait, both for drinks or arrival.

The restaurant and bar area is a great size though, with tables for individuals and families, as well as a sofa area for groups. A couple of TVs in the centre add some atmosphere although there isn’t any background music in the evenings.

A couple of lifts serve the accommodation floors quickly. Rooms are large with plenty of space and storage. Air conditioning works well and although nothing special, the views are decent enough depending on the side of the building you’re in. Standard hot drink facilities are available but no bottled water. TVs are a good size and picture quality acceptable. I’ve always had a comfortable enough stay in the room and other than it not being possible to push the beds in a twin room together, little to complain about.

Bathrooms have always been clean despite feeling a little dated. There’s the standard amenities you’d expect, along with hair dryer (and ironing facilities) in the main bedroom area. No bath but the showers are a good enough size with the water hot and decent power.

I’ve stayed here a few times now and have always left happy enough, and if I didn’t need to be based directly in the city centre would certainly stay here again.

We stayed here for 2 nights, and had a very enjoyable stay. Plus points -
Car park in front of hotel (£6 per night)
Clean rooms, comfortable bed, warm room even when it was snowing outside! large towels, full length mirror, tea and coffee and tastefully decorated.
Extremely helpful and professional staff who go out of their way to help.
Bar
Restaurant next door
Kirkstall Brewery Pub a short walk away
Quiet at night allows for a good night's sleep
24 hour reception
Good breakfast included in price
We were a group of 8 and had 4 rooms on the 5th floor.
We went for the York Christmas Market, and caught the train to York, it all worked out cheaper than staying overnight in York!
Thank you to all the team at the hotel, we loved it!

Just returned after a one night stay on Friday night.
Having booked Friday whilst in the area for a football match, on arrival we attempted to extend our stay to Saturday night. The receptionist quoted a price of over £350.00 for Saturday night, which we found ridiculous and over the top, when compared with the charge for Friday night. Having asked if any deal could be arranged for an extra night, the receptionist said it was unlikely and although there were five rooms available she could not reduce the price.
Having entered our room it was basic with extremely uncomfortable beds and whilst the room was clean and tidy, it did not merit the price we had been quoted for an extra night and we just stayed the one.
It has to be said that whilst the breakfast included within the price was very nice and you could help yourself as often as you liked, and the receptionist we spoke to was very nice, it is ludicrous for a hotel to even attempt to charge so much for a Saturday, irrespective of what may be going on in the city centre! This is a sign of the times currently due to the pandemic, whereby many hotels are basically ripping customers off in the knowledge foreign travel is still difficult so they believe they have a captive audience!
The hotel is also a considerable walk from the city centre attractions and you have to pay a parking fee upon arrival.
Would not stay again.

The staff here is excellent! I've had so many changes to my stay due to flight changes and the staff here has been wonderful with helping me adjust my arrival and departure dates. The location has been great for me with easy access to bus stops and easy walking distance to the city centre. My room was on an upper floor and faced the parking lot, so I noticed very little noise from the outside. My only complaint would be the air conditioner. It isn't always quite and is above the bed - just seems like a strange place for it.

A warm welcome from staff on reception and they let us check in early. The room was great with air conditioning, iron and board, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities and a huge walk in shower. Breakfast was also great with individually wrapped croissants, cereal in bowls with lid, yoghurts, fruit, orange juice, tea, coffee hot chocolate and even some hot bacon baps. Excellent Covid procedures with clear instructions and sanitiser everywhere. Highly recommended would definitely use again.

Stayed here for two nights with my friend and my two foster kids, aged ten and eleven. The hotel isn't in the city centre but I have mobility issues and with two kids in tow we just ordered Ubers which didn't cost much at all. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable, the beds and pillows were great and it was good to have Dove hand wash, shampoo and shower gel available because it meant we didn't have to carry a load of toiletries from Newcastle. All the hotel staff were cheery, very friendly and very accommodating. We packed up on Sunday morning and left our luggage in a secure room at the hotel whilst we made the most of our last day and visited the Armouries. Not the biggest selection of food, but more than adequate for a short stay. A big shout out to Beth, who went out of her way to make us feel welcome and who my boys took a special liking to. If we visit Leeds again in the future we will definitely be staying here.

Used to stay here regularly over 15 years ago and upon my return it looks like not a penny has been spent on it in that time. Very tired looking in both the public areas and bedrooms that fall way below the usual standards of Holiday Inn Express.

Heating in rooms was an old fan stuck to the wall that meant you had to listen to it whirring away if you wanted hearing which wasn’t great. The bedding was ok though.

Location is around 15 mins walk from railway station which is safe enough even at night. The car park however that used to be free isn’t now and big signs up offering that the public can park in it, so if your taking a car I wouldn’t be too confident of getting a space.

My main issues were with the staff. At checkin I asked for a late check out till 1300 which is a benefit of IHG Diamond level, the staff member agreed that was fine that didn’t bother doing anything or telling anyone. So next morning the card wouldn’t work after 11am, then had trouble trying to get through to a new member of staff that I had late checkout and needed card reactivate. 30 mins later I had the clear just walk straight in. Then twice in ten mins a very blunt female receptionist rang twice to ask why hadn’t I left, when I explained the agreed late checkout she relied “no one told me” which isn’t a great response.

I then went to check out at 1245 and there was no one at reception, however I could see multiple staff members in a room behind reception but none of them reacting to me shouting hello or even ringing the hotel to get them to come through to reception. When someone finally came out it was the blunt female who rang the room. I advised her it was a male in the room who agreed the late checkout “well he didn’t tell me” so their are real staff communication issues in this hotel and basically I won’t be back as a result
