Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Last Friday it was the University of Leeds cricket ball which was hosted at Queens. It is one of the largest club events of the year. This year we had 200 people attend as part of the University Men's cricket club and the Women's cricket club as well as alumni from the respective clubs. Everything about the event was fantastically organised and ran smoothly in what is a great venue. We'd like to give a special thanks to Allison for helping out so much with the organising of the event, as well as Emily who showed us around the venue on several occasions. We'd also like to give a special thanks to Jamie who helped the event run smoothly on the evening. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and everyone we've spoken to has said how much they loved this years event. Cannot recommend it highly enough!

We had a classic double, room was lovely, spacious, with bottled water and tea and coffee. Huge comfy bed. All good. Lovely Art Deco feel. Good breakfast (lots of juices), you can order poached and scrambled eggs separately, swiftly brought out. There is an accessible entrance from the station (on the right), otherwise exit the station, turn right and you are there.

its an old building... lifts are horrendously slow, take the stairs if you can find them (no signs, i could see) bring your own cup the gym, none provided. breakfast team can be overzealous when it comes to trying to get breakfast added to your room... pay now is the only option, another trip up the awful lifts :) beds were comfy.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback Mark P. We are glad that you enjoyed our central Leeds location, just a short walk from everything that the city has to offer. It's disappointing to hear that the room was not particularly to your taste and that you thought the cleanliness was lacking. We hope you raised this with our team so that we could resolve the issue immediately. We hope to welcome you back to The Queens again.

My business needed an event venue to host a dinner night for approximatley 200 work colleagues, this was no trouble for The Queens hotel, Allison the Events and Banqueting Sales Executive made sure all our requirements were met nothing was insurmountable, her communication and due diligence was top draw. The event was a success partly due to the up most professionalism of the waiting Staff whom were under the stewardship of Harry and Ben. I am looking forward working with The Queens Hotel for our future event requirements. Highly recommended.

A little apprehensive when I booked, but the pictures don’t do this hotel justice. From the very first step into this hotel you instantly feel like you’re in a very classy establishment. Checkin in was quick and very very friendly and professional. We also received a complimentary room upgrade! The hotel has a very art deco feel everywhere. The room itself was very spacious, with 2 huge double beds. Very comfortable and a great nights sleep. Bathroom also lovely, a very relaxing double shower and spacious bathroom, plenty of room for 2 people to get ready side by side. Plenty of wardrobe space, compliments water and biscuits. Really get like staff couldn’t do enough and were happy and grateful for our stay. Will definitely return in the future - my new favourite hotel in Leeds!

Wow David C! What a wonderful review! Thank you for taking the time to write it and give us your feedback. We are thrilled to bits that we are your new favourite hotel in Leeds, what an accolade!! It's great to hear that you love the latest incarnation of The Queens. In our recent renovation we worked hard to retain the art deco heritage of the building whilst also adding some more contemporary touches. Thank you for your kind words about the team. They are at the heart of what we do and the hotel would not be the same place without them. We look forward to welcoming you back on your next trip to Leeds!

Every aspect was great ie service , food , room and bed but the prices and lack of beer choice was close to extortion, I mean £10 for a glass of supermarket wine? Come on! No real ale beers on tap don't understand why, drop your prices and have more choice it's simple then everyone's happy!

Wow what a lovely hotel and the staff went above and beyond. But slightly disappointed in the food, the evening meal was overpriced, the prawn cocktail just poor and my steak served warm and looked bland, they rectified the warm steak to a little warmer….. plus no wine by the bottle Sauvignon blanc Thursday evening . The buffet breakfast just warm under heat lamps, but nicely laid out and again the staff went above and beyond. Some areas lacking in cleanliness the walls, doors and floor of the lifts. Very noticeable the fruit flies in the bar area. Sticky tables round the bar area. We hope this constructive criticism and we say we cannot complain about the rooms, the staff the beautiful smell of Sandalwood wood on entering the Queens Hotel, we would love to come back.
