We had the perfect stay here with our dog. We stayed just one night, the room was simple, clean, with a large bathroom. All the staff were incredibly friendly, courteous & dog friendly. We had been told that our breakfast would need to be delivered to our room because of our dog, we accepted this but on arrival we asked it we could possibly take breakfast in a corner of the lobby instead as we were being joined by other members of our group, we were told this wouldn't be a problem & was something we greatly appreciated. I will most definitely be using this hotel again whether I'm travelling with my dog or not.…
We’ve just returned from a weekend in Leeds for the Emmerdale tour. When booking the Emmerdale experience they suggest Westwood Estate because the pick up point is in the grounds. It’s not cheap but my husband booked it as a surprise for my birthday We arrived just after 10 o’clock at night due to heavy traffic from Kent to Leeds and on arrival we was told the restaurant was closed, we could however get a snack from the bar. We went in and ordered two tuna sandwiches and two drinks, the bill was £32! The room was lovely and we both slept very well until 6.30am when we were woken up by deliveries under our bedroom window! Breakfast was buffet style and to be honest it was okay and the quality was good. We went out to the local shops before leaving for our day out and when we returned we couldn’t park the car. I went to reception to ask what we should do and I was told to park anywhere in the car park. I explained we were going out for the day and she just shrugged. Another guest told me where the overflow car park was and after waiting for a while did manage to park. When we left in the morning there was a sign on the stairs to let people know cleaning was in progress, someone had been sick! When we returned at 6 o’clock pm it was still there! Service was very slow throughout the hotel including dinner, £36 for fish and chips twice! I really don’t mind what I pay for food so long as I enjoy it... that cannot be said on this occasion! If you are planning on going to the Emmerdale tour and you’re driving, I would suggest another hotel, there are many to choose from in the area and make use of the free car park at Westwood reading for the coach collection. We did have a nice time... just far to expensive for the below standard experience.…
We stayed at Weetwood Hall as we thought it was ideally located so we could visit both the Emmerdale Village and Studios. It was our 25th wedding anniversary and when we checked in the hotel had upgraded us which was such a lovely surprise. The staff were all very polite and helpful and the breakfast was a good spread with plenty of choice. We are planning on visiting the area again and will definitely e staying at Weetwood Hall Thank you…
This is a very nice country hall estate hotel on the Leeds ring road. An ideal location for 12 of us on a golfing break. Reception: The staff on reception were excellent, very polite, friendly and competent. 10 out of 10 Room, We stayed in a twin rooms, the room was very clean with a good supply of towels and both heating and ac. The range of toiletries and teas and coffees was extensive and well received. The bed linen was good but the beds were a bit hard. 9 out of 10 Breakfast. Was superb, the staff again were extremely helpful, polite, pleasant and very efficient. The range of foods was extensive, very well served and very tasty. 10 out of 10. Convive restaurant. We had to give our choices of food 2 weeks before arrival, yes I know there were 12 of us but come on cant a large hotel restaurant cope. On the first night many of us had the ham hock starter (with apple sauce) followed by the pork chop, well how hard is it to cook a pork chop, not very, but this had been cooked until it was dry and tasteless, we asked for some apple sauce to go with it, but they did not have any (funny that they had it for the starter). On the second night many had the steak and ale pie. Well the closest the steak got to ale was when the pie passed the bar. The meat was almost inedible, it was all cut into similar sized cubes (that means it was cash and carry frozen cubes). The sweets on both days were passable. We reported our dissatisfaction of the meal to the restaurant manager who had no real interest in what we said or about the food, overall experience 1 out of ten. Don’t eat in that’s my advice.…
We stayed for 3 nights whilst the cricket was taking place, We were upgraded on arrival, our room overlooked the gardens very pleasant view. The room was of a good size with tea coffee facilities, bottled water etc. A nice fridge keep drinks cool. The room was clean and very pleasant. I do agree with other reviews though, the tv is in a crazy place and there was a strange smell to the towels although lovely clean and fluffy. We ate twice in the restaurant , both occasions food and service was good.the breakfast is very very good, self service but with a good selection and piping hot, staff also excellent. All the staff in the hotel were very pleasant. We were there when the weather was good and it was lovely to sit outside the stables pub, lovely area. All the grounds and gardens are beautifully kept. We have stayed before and will stay again…
"If you ask for quiet room do mention you don't want it facing out to the dual carriage way or overlooking the Stables Pub courtyard."Read full review
