We stayed here for one night to break up our long journey down to Cornwall, we did not plan to stay here, but found ourselves at Fleet Services at 8pm thinking we best find a bed for the night.

We were looking for somewhere that was clean and not expensive as we would be there for less than 12 hours.

We booked online and paid, then noticed that the latest for check in was 9pm, called and explained we would be late, very helpful lady said reception would be closed, however she would leave a key and map for us.

Any review I leave is always given with the price I paid in mind, for example if I pay £10 for a night, I expect very little so little to complain about, if I pay £5k a night it better be perfect with a cherry on top!

We paid £55 for room only and then selected breakfast for an additional £10 each.

At £55 we were not expecting too much and had that nervous feeling when we arrived, would it be clean...would the bed be comfortable...

We picked key up and made our way round to room one, it was perfect, modern, very clean, well decorated, comfy bed, we instantly felt at home and could easily have stayed a few days in that room.

Next morning we headed for breakfast, both had the cooked breakfast and toast, when it first came out I though it looked a little small and not worth £10, however, the bacon sausage and poached eggs tasted amazing! Very good quality meat and eggs! So yes small breakfast portion but well worth the money for quality.

If I had one negative, although it really is not negative, so I will say one improvement I would make, the chap serving breakfast was polite, friendly however, he should have worn tailored shorts (chino shorts) and short sleeve shirt, smart (hotel logo) polo shirt, as he did look a little untidy in his beach style shorts. However, as I said just a very small insignificant thing.

You would need a car staying here as not really local to anywhere.

All in all top notch hotel/B&B, I would recommend a stay here if

Great friendly service!

We received a warm welcome and when we were shown to our room it definitely had wow factor. The french doors opening on to the garden terrace were definitely a bonus. We had also booked the upstairs flatlet for our family and they had the perfect accommodation for the children with a small lounge, kitchen and two bedrooms all presented to the highest standard. We were please with every aspect of our stay especially the fine breakfast array. We felt that it was very good value allround too.

We were a party of four ( 2 couples ) in two double rooms . The rooms were well furbished and we were well looked after by the two resident staff who were very attentive.
We were there for 3 nights and had a very good breakfast with a large chopice each morning.
We would definitely recommend this hotel.

I was really excited to be going to Cricket Field House, the pictures looked great. However the room was tired. We stayed in in a suite and the bathroom particularly was less in quality than expected. Tired and in some places like the seat for elderly in the shower a bit grungy. We stayed two nights and on the last morning there was absolutely no hot water, so cold showers. Not a great start. This was a first romantic time away and this spoilt it. Also replay your room. Having the bed within about 4 feet from the bathroom, which has a flimsy door is not ideal! The staff were friendly and helpful and I cannot fault them. We were given a £25 refund for the cold shower, imwould have preferred it hot! We still had a lovely time but sadly would not return.

Stayed in Room 10 for four nights, a quiet and cool room when the day temperature was close to 30deg,
Breakfast was very good with a well stocked buffet plus egg bacon etc on order.
Ringside seat to watch the last cricket match of the season !
Thanks to Helen, Jason & staff for their friendly welcome and prompt attention to any requests .

My wife and I stayed in the Pavilion Suite for 3 nights and overall found it to be very comfortable.

The hotel is conveniently situated close to the main town of Salisbury and we walked into town without issue. There are also a number of shops locally, including a Tesco Express and Co-operative.

Inside the room the separate living area was spacious and we were able to connect a device to the TV via HDMI to get all of our subscriptions such as Netflix and Now TV.

The room overlooked the cricket ground from the bedroom window and the kitchenette, while small was functional enough for making breakfast each morning.

The main issues we had with the room were:

1. The room only had a queen sized bed. While I noticed upon review that this was stated in the literature, you would expect that the most expensive room would also have one of the bigger beds, especially when the room can accommodate it.

2. Opening both the bathroom and bedroom/living room doors created a loud speaking sound which meant waking someone up when one of these doors was opened.

3. We were fortunate enough to have some extremely warm weather during our stay, however the lack of a fan/air con in the room made it difficult to sleep, even with the windows and doors open.

We passed a room in the same area of the hotel which looked lovely, although it was all in one room, the room was spacious and the bed was larger than ours.

Overall I would stay again at Cricket Field House as it has many benefits, however I would probably choose a different room.

Really enjoyed our stay in the Umpire two bed apartment. Breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked and lots of choice. Staff were very friendly. Location was brilliant as only a 5 minute walk to the local bus stops that run into Salisbury regularly with the benefit of free parking at the accommodation.
The main beds were very comfy but the sofa bed made up for my teenage daughter to sleep on could have done with a mattress topper as you could feel the springs so she was the only one who didn’t get a good nights sleep. There are lots of mirrors but no practical mirror to sit and use to do hair and make up. Also the two bed apartment only has one bathroom, which has no window so a shower trap odour lingered.

I feel its almost wrong to call this place a B&B! It is so much more!

I booked Cricket Field House as I was to visit Salisbury for a two week residential training course. I had absolutely no idea about Salisbury or its accommodation, so I was so very lucky to have managed to book in here by chance. As they were so good at fitting me in, at rather short notice, it meant I had three room changes, which meant I had a chance to get a good idea what the place was really like. I just fell so sorry for the staff having to move my mountain of kit each time! All rooms were spotlessly clean. Really nicely appointed and furnished. I immediately fell in love with the place, which was a good job, as I had another two weeks booked in with them! All of the staff are really friendly, well trained, polite. The breakfasts are lovely - the only down side is you cant allow yourself to get carried away as I did, or you will end up putting weight on! Great food, fresh and well cooked. I feel thoroughly looked after every night I stay here with the room being well serviced each and every day even on a two week stay, where other hotels or B&B’s would provide very limited room servicing. The location itself is just minutes away from the town. It’s a really nicely laid out building and surrounding land. The rooms are a good size and the parking is excellent. As a woman travelling alone, I felt very safe, secure and spoilt here. Spoilt too, as I feel I will be disappointed with other B&Bs after staying here so much! I am looking forward to returning for a couple of weeks next year! Thank you each and every one of you for a super stay!

We have just returned from a lovely break exploring the area and staying at Cricket Field House. We couldn't have wished for a better base - it felt like a get away from it all escape, but so close to everywhere we wanted to visit.
The location was pretty much perfect, close enough to walk into Salisbury city centre and the lovely nearby village of Wilton, and within 45mins from Longleat Safari Park, the New Forest and the south coast, but really peaceful and serene in its setting. There is plenty of safe, free parking.
The property is quirky and decorated with luxury in mind. I loved the fact that there were no corridors and the rooms had their own front doors from the beautiful gardens. Our room was bright and airy, and so peaceful. The shower was powerful and I loved that there was a proper window in the bathroom. The bed was comfy and we had undisturbed sleep each night.
The breakfast menu was limited due to Covid, but the food was great and you could order as much or as little and whatever combination you fancied each morning.
The hosts were really friendly and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed. The other staff members were friendly too and made great recommendations for places to eat.
We would definitely recommend Cricket Field House to others wanting to explore the area and hope to visit again.

Our daughter researched this hotel and booked it for us as a treat. Our first impressions were what a wonderful setting right next to a beautiful cricket ground. The friendly manager was extremely helpful and showed us to what only can be described as a very well appointed suite. There were French doors leading on to a patio area and well manicured gardens. Suggestions were readily offered when we asked for suggestions where to have dinner.
We chose the second sitting for breakfast as we were not in a hurry to move on (covid 19 meant the breakfast buffet could not be offered but the freshly cooked full English with local ingredients was brought timely to us).
All in all great hotel, beautifully maintained and perfect service, will definitely make a return visit.

Very Sorry this person has felt the need to send this to the internet,The potential guest booked over night She then checked her booking to find we only have Children over 14 years of age, we do not have Family rooms and feel it is not safe for children younger to Stay in a room on their own..Although when booking she had only stated it was for 2 persons., Obviously going to just arrive with an infant plus the 2 already booked. Our Check in Times are 2pm until 8pm. We are a family business , which offers personal excellent service as many of our reviews reflect. At no time were communications between this person rude, She is for some reason a very Anger and , Because the Booking Policy here dose not fit in with her requirments.
