The Crown and Cushion is a delightful pub with 8 en-suite rooms. It is pleasantly situated in Eton High Street, which is a stone's throw from Windsor. Situated in the picturesque setting of Eton High Street, we are surrounded by history. Dating back to the 1600’s, The Crown and Cushion has been an Inn since 1753. Just minutes walk from Windsor Castle and Eton College and a short drive away from various attractions including Legoland, Royal Ascot Racecourse and Cliveden House. Having recently been refurbished, The Crown and Cushion offers you good food and good accommodation at reasonable prices. We have eight en-suite rooms: 2 Kings, 5 Doubles and 1 compact double. Put up beds can be added if needed at no extra cost; please discuss this at time of booking. Continental and a full English breakfast is included. The building is full of character and is very quirky in places. Allegedly built from old ships timbers, some of the floors are wonky and lots of the floorboards are creaky – but that is what makes it charming! The rooms are situated over two floors so if you require a first floor room please mention at the time of booking and we will do our best. We have an unusual American theme and our aim is to make you feel as relaxed as possible and send you off happy whether you have just had a drink, meal or a whole night’s stay. There is an outside patio should you wish to eat or drink outside. All our food is available for takeaway if you don’t have time to stop or you want to eat at home. For our staying guests, parking is available on site but this is not unlimited and we therefore request that parking is allocated to one car per booking. We will try and accommodate any reasonable request from any of our customers so if you do have any special requirements then please just ask.

On arrival we parked behind the pub in the dedicated car park and walked though the courtyard to check in. We had a very warm friendly welcome and were shown up to our very nice large old fashioned room on the first floor, overlooking the front of the pub. We had a king size bed, wardrobe with plenty of hanging, tea and coffee making (plenty of tea/coffee sachets) two bottles of water and lovely wrapped biscuits. The bathroom was spacious with large shower (rainfall and adjustable), plenty of towels and complementary toiletries.
After walking round Windsor, where there wasn’t much mask wearing we decided to eat our evening meal in the courtyard garden. There was a large menu and we had jacket potatoes which were delicious and came with a large salad and coleslaw…..all for just £7.50 each. There weren’t many people there and we felt quite safe.
Breakfast was served from 7.30 - 9 and was excellent. Self service tea and coffee, cereals, toast, fruit juice and a good served full English breakfast . No masks were worn though in the pub by staff or guests.
The pub was quirky and had sloping floors and creaky floorboards…..we expected that as the pub was so old…but we weren’t prepared for such creaking noises from the room above us….the guests got up numerous times in the night and started preparing for their day at 6 am! There was such creaking and banging, we thought they were in the room with us!!Perhaps we were unlucky, because this can’t be the norm!? My husband has always been a good sleeper but even he couldn’t sleep through that! Also be prepared to get the suitcases up narrow steep stairs….that’s why we opted for the first floor…..perhaps tops floors are quieter though?
The pub was only 50 yards or so from the bridge over to Windsor, so was in a perfect position and with the inclusive rate of parking and full English breakfast we would have loved to stay again.
We would have given it five stars, because the staff and everything else was really excellent, but for the quality of our sleep!

I can't rate the Crown & Cushion highly enough. This is the third time we have stayed there and the service and food just seems to get better (if that is possible).
The variety of food (and quantity) is unsurpassed value for money and needless to say the location is perfect + free and secure parking.
We have already booked for our next trip in the summer.
Keep up the good work.

We chose The Crown and Cushion Inn for our stay in Windsor because we had tickets for Hamlet at the Theatre Royal and had also arranged tickets for a visit to Windsor Castle. The inn's location is excellent, being only a five minute walk to the theatre and less than ten minutes to the castle. Our rooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean, breakfasts and bar food were good and all the members of staff we met were unfailingly pleasant and very helpful. There is a small dedicated car park to the rear of the inn the use of which is included in the price of your accommodation. If we were to come to Windsor again, we would not hesitate to book our stay at the Crown and Cushion. By the way, the inn, being about 400 years old, has some really quirky features including uneven floors, narrow staircases and small landings but it all adds to the interesting atmosphere.

We stayed here for one night to enjoy the sites of Windsor
The room ( 3)was beautiful and spacious, clean and very unique with a stunning balcony looking over Eton High street.
Parking is limited but when we arrived they made sure we could park by moving staff cars around so we knew it was safe for the night. Nothing was too much trouble and the lovely outside garden area was a great place to stop for a few drinks. Location is perfect only a 2 minute walk to river where you can book boat trips and the choice of places to eat was amazing. You can walk to
Windsor castle in approx 10 minutes and there’s city bus tours available by the castle too.
Breakfast was fresh, hot and lots of choice of cereals and yogurts.
Would 100% recommend to anyone and will definitely return.

Spent 2 nights here in room 2. Very large comfortable room with excellent bed. Breakfast was superb with loads of smoked salmon with the scrambled egg, and the full English a great example of a British breakfast! The free parking in their own car park, was a really advantageous inclusion. The large tabled garden with a timber covered area is also an asset. The location, just across the bridge from Winsor Castle means you are 5 minutes walk from it and the plethora of restaurants and pubs. Highly recommend this venue for your trip to Windsor.

We stayed in Room 1 which is directly above the bar and over looks the beer garden so double whammy when it comes to being disturbed with revellers on a warm night when an open window was required. Bed was comfortable enough. Bathroom with a shower functional.
Good location 5 minute walk to Windsor, 2 minute walk to the Thames. Friendly staff. Bar was nice to sit in for a drink.
Parking included in price and is supposed to be for guests only but there were easily 10 plus cars, some double parked on our first night.
Staff couldn't cope with breakfast if all rooms come down at once. Breakfast - cereal, yogurt, bananas & apples, full English or scrambled or fried egg on toast. Tasty. Toast the first day was delicious thick cut bread, second day was generic shop supplied thin sliced.

Stayed Friday to Monday for my Birthday. We parked in the Hotel carpark which is free and a bonus and checking in was straight forward as well as logging into WiFi. Yes room rather small but just needed for sleeping in. The room had everything you would get in a 4 star Hotel and bottled water and biscuits a lovely addition. Only 5 TV channels but not a issues as here for sightseeing. The bed was comfortable and ensuite bathroom ok and a good size. On the Friday night went down for dinner and ordered chilli con carne and the Malaysian dish. Unfortunately both were dreadful and ate out for dinner after this. However the breakfast in particular the Full English was brilliant, the best l have tasted in a very long time. It was well made and presented and hot. The ingredients tasted fresh and good quality in particular the sausages. I can not fault the Breakfast and give it 100% as the highlight of my morning.
Windsor is a great place to visit and the hotel is in a fabulous location as less than a 5 minute walk over the bridge to the Castle and River Thames. We booked in advance to visit the Castle and St George's Chapel and you see the burial place of the Queen as plaque already in place. Did the long walk which is 5 miles long from the Castle gates to a copper horse and rider. So only walked 2 and a half miles down and then turned round again. There are Security Staff at the Castle who can direct you on how to get to the long walk.Next day did the Hop on and Hop of Bus Tour which passes the Hotel and stops behind the hotel and did a River Thames cruise as you get a running commentary on both tours.
Would definitely return to the hotel in the future and already missing the Full English.
Thank you to Mr and Mrs and the large Dog for making my birthday extra special in your interesting Hotel.

Booked an overnight stay for a theatre visit rather than driving home. Booked because it had parking available and was an easy walk to the theatre, also because it seemed reasonable value for the area compared to other places.
Very old and quirky place, uneven stairs and floor adding to the charm. Very efficient and fast check in.
Room was clean, quiet and had the usual amenities.
Standard cooked breakfast from friendly staff, although latest time is 9:00 am, which might be early for some leisure travellers.
Car park is very small so you do have to leave upon checkout.
Would definitely stay there again!

Stayed here whilst attending a function in Windsor, great location right on the footbridge into Windsor. A great pub, very busy and really nice bar staff especially the young Brazilian woman behind the bar. T he room was a little small but the bed was very comfortable and it was warm. A good shower was followed by a good cooked English breakfast, cleanly and perfectly cooked with your own bottle of orange juice and milk. Small car park at the rear so make sure you book in. The two ldies who served breakfast and did the cleaning too were just fantastic. Recommended.

Cannot recommend this place enough! From the moment we arrived the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. We stayed in room three which was lovely, spacious, light and really quirky with the slanting floors and lovely little seating snug area which looks out over the high street. The bed was super comfortable. The ensuite was small but perfectly functional with big shower. We ate in the pub in the evening, food was really good value, generous portions and very tasty. Again the staff were so friendly. Location of the pub is perfect, 5 minute walk over the bridge into Windsor, and parking behind the hotel. Breakfast was included too and with good selection. The Crown and Cushion is a real little gem full of old creaky floorboard character and charm.
