We booked this on a deal for two nights with dinner, bed and breakfast. It is a fairly old building but has a modern annexe behind it. Car parking was good, and the location on the bank of the River Thames is obviously a major selling point.

Looking at the hotel website when booking, we got the impression that the interior was quite classy but the reality is a little different. It has a rather tired feel and although our room was quite large it was rather shabby with peeling wallpaper and ceiling paper. The bathroom was OK with a shower over the bath. There was no handle on the wall which I feel is an essential safety aid when getting in and out of the bath or shower. There was no shelf either to put shower gel on while showering. The bed was quite comfortable and generally, the hotel was quiet so we slept well although the air conditioning seemed to be on cold all the time despite us adjusting it. The provision of USB sockets for phone charging was good.

The breakfast was very good with a plentiful choice but please put hot plates out. Putting hot food onto a cold plate means your food gets cold quickly. Although we had dinner included for both nights we only dined once as the menu was pretty dull and we ate elsewhere. We had the fish and chips but it was pretty much like pub food that you'd get in Wetherspoons so nothing special. The menu options didn't appear like the food pictures on the website. The bar was also lacking any atmosphere in the evening so we went out as I suspect other guests did. I don't know whether it's because we'd booked on a deal but this is the first hotel we've been to anywhere where we couldn't charge drinks to our room - very odd.

The staff were very pleasant and as previously mentioned, the location is great but the interior does need some improvement even though they claim to have refurbished.

We booked our stay here months ago through Travel Zoo and got what we expected. Every time we book a deal through travel Zoo we now know not to expect much. On our arrival the hotel looked great outside and inside was fresh ,apparently it was revamped in January this year so we were told. We were given our electronic key and told where our room was. We had room 204 which was at the front of the hotel but near the river. Straight away we heard this noise and looked out our bedroom window to see air conditioning units below us . The noise from these is constant all day until about 2:00 am in the morning , we did contact reception but at that moment they had no other rooms to move us to. The bedroom was lovely decorated as was the rest of the main hotel. Breakfast time we got down to the restaurant at 8:30 just in time before it got busy. Food choice was good with cereals, fresh fruit and cooked breakfast. In the evening we booked the restaurant for 8:00 pm and on arrival people were waiting for tables over 1 hour over their expected time. It appears if you booked the hotel through Travel Zoo you get a different menu for food and different rooms compared to Groupon. Our food was not that good even though you get 20% discount ,even at that price it was not worth it.

Reception is up steep stairs. The allocated room was not in the same building but in a different building behind. Entrance to our room was again up very steep stairs. The room was like an average motel room but the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was large and the shower very good. Breakfast on the first day was ok buffet style. Cereal, fruit, croissant then hot tomatoes mushrooms bacon eggs beans and hash browns. Most of the food was hot but not all. Unfortunately the coffee machine was broken so we had to have instant coffee. The second day was awful. The containers were nearly all empty and no one was monitoring it. The lady in charge of the restaurant was more interested in clearing the plates . We asked constantly for the eggs, tomatoes beans and mushrooms but they failed to arrive till half an hour later as we gave up. It was a shame as otherwise we would have given it an extra star. The position right by the Thames was lovely.

We had an amazing time at this Hotel, the room was immaculate and the staff were really professional and accommodating. Beautiful location next to the water and lovely views during breakfast and dinner. We chose this hotel due to its location and we couldn't have been happier with our choice.

It is located on the banks of the river Thames, do make a booking for the river facing room. It can be a little difficult to reach via public transportation on public holidays but apart from that the location is easily convenient for travelling from public transportation. We were given a nature-facing room with a balcony view of the river from the side. The room was clean and the furniture added to the beautiful aesthetic of the room. The washroom was huge with ample shower area. The rooms were clean and we were provided with complimentary tea, coffee, and sugar packets. We were unable to operate the heater and the night manager kindly assisted us with the same. He had been extremely cooperative and I am thankful to him for making our visit memorable. I would visit this property again but preferably book a river-facing room.

Positive first. Hotel is located on Thames, wonderful views, clean and well maintained. Staff in the restaurant were welcoming, food good (well done chef) Rooms large, bed comfortable. Negatives. Reception located on first floor, up a steep flight of stairs, which for people in their 70’s was difficult to navigate. Having climbed these with our luggage, we were told we would be in the annexe, so down and up another 3 flights of stairs (to be fair knew there wasn’t a lift) The room was so cold, had to spend time under the covers of bed. Water was adequate but to put it into prospective, didn’t need to add any cold to the bath, so no soaking to warm up! Yes there were tea making facilities but was provided with one tea bag and two sachets of milk (don’t drink specialised tea and coffee)) Same for the bathroom, one miniature bottle of shower gel and small bar of soap for 2 people for 2 nights. Now, we could have contacted reception, but no information about contacting by phone, usual numbers didn’t work. Heaven knows what would happen in an emergency. Couldn’t face walking up all those stairs, so we had to go out to buy supplies. As seems usual of all hotels nowadays (since Covid) room not cleaned (that was the joy of booking hotels, having your bed made properly!) Apparently, you needed to inform them the day before you wanted it done. Lastly, just an observation, we came away for a pre Christmas break. Was surprised that instead of jolly Christmas songs playing in reception, it appears to be Asian music playing, not very festive. But suppose it’s everyone’s personal taste. Would I return, don’t think so.

Arrived at hotel, parked easily, wonderful location, friendly, helpful staff. Average food which took far too long to arrive at dinner, 45 minutes after ordering. That’s where the compliments begin and end. We had visited this hotel many years ago with no complaints, it has obviously changed ownership. We were staying at this hotel due to a family wedding at nearby Dorney Court. We’d had an extremely long journey that day due to accident on M3, which obviously isn’t the hotel’s fault, but we were desperate for a good night’s sleep, in readiness for wedding the following day. We went to bed, turned off the lights, but we were faced with a large bright green ceiling light that stayed on ALL night. The same green light was also in the bathroom. If there hadn’t been the same bright green light in the bathroom, I was so in need of sleep, I’d have put the duvet in the bath and tried to sleep in there for the night. Desperate times, take for desperate decisions. We tried to turn it off, tried ringing reception, but the room phone didn’t work. By 3pm we were getting desperate for some sleep. Husband had to get dressed and went down to reception, they said there was nothing they could do, the green light stays on for safety purposes!!!!!!! Having stayed in numerous hotels, along with re-decorating hotels, we have never experienced this problem before. On arriving in the room we expected some noise from the road directly outside to possibly keep us awake, but this green light was torture. We gave up trying to sleep, not a good start to the long wedding day ahead. The next morning we asked another lovely receptionist if we could be moved for that evening, but was told most rooms had this green light, there was no other room available, she was very apologetic on you, the management’s bad decisions. I attempted to book for that night at another hotel, but run out of time to find somewhere else in time, before having to leave at 11am. So we had to stay there for another night. The refurbishment was appalling!!!! Cannot believe decorators were actually paid for such a poor finish. Bed was way too soft, duvet cover had lots of very long loose threads around the edges, which I got caught up in every time I tossed and turned to try and go to sleep. Attempted to break all the threads off with my hands, but obviously it was strong nylon thread, which I couldn’t break and didn’t have any scissors to hand. We sat up chatting the rest of the night, couldn’t download the app to view the TV as it was useless, no live TV. Whose idea was this in these technological times, especially after having had a refurbishment. A bad decision! Simple, but annoying things like, there were no tea bags in the room, desperate for a cuppa 3pm, no instructions on how to turn the air conditioner off or down, so the room was freezing. No, DO NOT DISTURB sign, so cleaners knew to not come into our room. Would appreciate contact from management, along with a refund. I look forward to hearing back from you.

The rooms were drastically overpriced for what you got and several of our party had to change rooms due to noise, lack of heating and our standard. Provisions varied from room to room, some had refreshments, some didn’t, plus there were no toiletries provided. Service was slow to the point we had to go on the search for someone a couple of times as reception was unmanned. No atmosphere in the bar and the breakfast was mediocre. Will definitely not be recommending this hotel to anyone. Very disappointing.

The first room we were allocated was not ideal for me (a light sleeper) as it had a noisy air con outside the window. I chatted with the manager who could not have been more helpful and moved us to a better room with excellent firm mattress and no external noise. All very comfortable and well equipped. The shower was superb! Decent value and excellent location on river and near town centre.

This hotel is up for sale, so really don't bother, it was freezing cold and when requesting a blanket got shrugged off by very disinterested staff, the heater not working in the room, no instruction booklet and spent a freezing night. Booked for evening meal when we got to the restaurant in hotel was told there was no electricity in the kitchen so no meals we going to be prepared, we had booked for the restaurant, nobody tried to make a plan nor order anything in for us even though we were prepared to pay. They made their problem our problem. No coffee beans for morning coffee and the whole thing turned out to be a Faulty Towers experience. This was with a Travelzoo voucher, Travelzoo should no longer offer this as not great at all and gives them a very bad name.
