Lovely place, clean and comfortable. Lovely character in the hallway. Breakfast room bright and airy. Bed was comfy and had lovely soft sheets. Bathroom was large and had a bath as well as a shower. Hotel itself was very quiet, we didn’t hear noise from inside at all but some noise from outside which is to be expected in this area. We like to have the window open but if the noise bothers you you can shut the window & use the air con. We stayed on a Mon & Tue night & I’d checked that the nightclub in close proximity was closed on those days so no noise from that. Staff very accommodating and happy to store baggage for you if you arrive before check in. They also made up bed and refreshed tea, coffee & towels which was an unexpected bonus. Breakfast was not really substantial enough. There were cereals, bread, croissants, yogurt and apple & bananas & plenty of spreads, tea & coffee. There was not a lot of bread & we couldn’t find extras. They ladies who came in after us had to make do with 1 slice of brown each. The price of the breakfast reflected this however for the same price you can have a full English in the Wetherspoons round the corner which we did the second day. The hotel also recommended other places for breakfast in the information they send to you and in the information pack in the room. Overall fantastic stay and I would definitely stay here again.

I was nervous about staying here because of a lot of negative reviews. They couldn't be further from the truth. The staff were very welcoming when we arrived the lobby /entrance was very clean with plenty of hand sanitising points. The room itself was very comfortable, clean warm and spacious with great shower and tea and coffee making facilities.
The breakfast room was a fully stocked kitchen with do it yourself breakfast consisting of fruit, a choice of breads yoghurt cereals muffins croissants tea and coffee.
It was very quiet considering its right on the main shopping street very near the castle and theatre with loads of eating and drinking establishments on the doorstep.
We had a very comfortable stay and will most definitely be visiting again.

This hotel is ideally located right in the centre of Windsor, a stones throw from the castle. Room was a great size, very clean, comfortable bed. A little disappointed in the bathroom, for the size and style of the room I was expecting a decent size bath or walk in shower, what you get is a very narrow basic bath with wall mounted shower above. A nicer bathroom would elevate the standard of this hotel.

The room we had overlooked peascod street which stayed very noisy until about 0430, with people leaving the pubs and clubs.

Our only other issue was that we had paid for bed and breakfast, however on coming down for breakfast on the Sunday morning, the selection was incredibly poor for the price we paid, a couple if slices of cheap bread, a lonely croissant and some boxes of cereal, hardly the lovely continental breakfast that was promised! It seems the early bird gets the worm, if we came again we would not book the breakfast and find somewhere else to eat.

All that said we would stay here again due to the location, comfort and cleanliness but would opt for a room not on the main street and have breakfast elsewhere.

We had a 1 night stay as a family of 4. The room was one of the best family rooms I’ve stayed in - very spacious, all the beds (including travel cot!) were comfy. Nice spacious bathroom. We heard no noise at all yet our room overlooked the main shopping street, so ignore old reviews complaining of noise as their new double glazing clearly has done the job.
There are lots of parking options nearby and given the fantastic location of the hotel/B&B we didn’t mind not having on site parking. So many restaurant options and literally a few minutes walk to the castle.
I’ve rated it 4/5 rather than 5/5 as the breakfast wasn’t great and didn’t have a lot of the options that were advertised (no crumpets or bagels) and the croissants tasted stale.
Ideally the room would have had a small fridge.
Overall great value for money though

No main reception so difficult to leave belonging if you are not wanting to carry it around with you after you check out before you leave. Did have to use my google maps to find the hotel & when ordering takeaway food later in the evening they called to also ask for directions. It is right in the middle of all shops needed but just because it is down a side lane is is difficult to find if you have not been before. Room was very clean and quiet but I did stay in the middle of the week so unsure if those that have struggled with noise stayed on a weekend. Building very clean modern but if there was an issue I do think it would be difficult to find a member of staff to solve. During check-in I was not told about breakfast so unsure if they do it or how the food is. because of this I went elsewhere for breakfast the next morning. I did need to use the bathroom after check-out but was told there were no public restrooms in the hotel.

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review, your feedback is appreciated. It's great to hear that you thought the hotel was well located, clean, quiet and modern. Just wanted to clear some things up for anyone reading this: Although we don't have a reception due to the layout of the building, our guests are very welcome to store their luggage with us after checkout - we have installed an electronic bell in the ground floor hallway to enable guests to summon a member of staff for assistance. You can also call or email to let us know that you're leaving your luggage in the room upon checkout and we will bring it downstairs to the storage room for you. We have staff on-site 9am-5.30pm who can be reached via the doorbell or our phone number, and then a member of staff on call with the emergency phone for any issues out of hours. Our self-service Continental Breakfast is an optional extra, which is detailed on our website and in the confirmation email you receive immediately after booking. If guests do not opt to book breakfast at either of these junctures then it isn't mentioned during check-in, as we require advance notice and payment. Unfortunately there are no public restrooms in the hotel, but we have recently installed a partition wall in order to allow checked out guests to use the bathroom in the office if needs be.

We stayed two nights at the Goswell House. No main reception, but there was someone to meet us upon arrival to show us our room and hand us the card. After that you hardly saw anyone and was perfect if you want to just come and go as you please.

The room and ensuite were clean and tidy. The only problem I had with the room was you were only given one towel per person and one hand towel, which was difficult to dry your hair especially when the hair dryer in the room did not work. Our room was located right on the top floor and the air conditioning in the room was a life saver as we stayed during the heat wave.

The location of the hotel is central to everything. Less than two minute walk from the Windsor & Eton Central Train Station and Windsor Castle. Plus the shops are right on the doorstep. The hotel is tucked away down a side street so is not easy to find, but we had no issues.

Our only other issue was that the continental breakfast was worth the money we paid for. A mixture of slices of bread, croissants, crumpets, boxes of cereal, microwave porridge plus yogurt, biscuits, apples and banana. One of us was gluten Free and the only thing available was microwave porridge oats and cereal bars which they were unable to have due to not being able to eat oats plus the risk of cross contamination as only one microwave and one toaster.

Hi Laura, Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. It's great to hear that you were impressed with the location and cleanliness of our hotel, and that you enjoyed the freedom of our self-service accommodation. We appreciate the feedback about the number of towels per person, and have replaced the offending hair dryer. For our gluten free guests we offer gluten free bread, porridge, biscuits, cereal bars, yogurt, apples, and bananas, as well as a selection of juices, herbal and fruit teas, coffee, hot chocolate, and both regular and dairy free milk. Studies have shown that there is no significant risk of cross contamination via microwaves or toasters (less than 20 parts per million, or 0.002%), but we will look into stocking toaster bags for guests' peace of mind.

The hotel was so clean, very comfortable and cosy. The staff there are lovely and helpful. The hotel was very peaceful and the location was brilliant being central to all but surprisingly quiet when sleeping. Our huge superior room overlooked the street which was fun and noisy in the day but quiet at night. Amazing. We will definitely be back to stay and visit the wonderful Windsor in the same gorgeous hotel.

We booked a king bedded room. It was very nice, clean, and comfortable. Double pane windows have solved the problem with prior noise complaints about the busy street below. The location is great for the Castle and other sights. Breakfast is dry cereal, juice, stale bread to toast, and coffee to reheat in the microwave. Management is invisible. You'll be lucky if anyone hears the doorbell to let you in and the "emergency" phone doesn't work. I'm writing this on slow wifi in the hall because there is none in our room, which, as I noted, is very nice. We thought of staying one more night, but since nobody got back to us, we're going elsewhere.

We couldn’t fault our stay, the bed was very comfortable and the room was dead silent. Best night sleep Iv had in ages!

I wasn’t expecting breakfast as it wasn’t included but was very pleasantly surprised to find complimentary croissants and orange juice.

The manager was very polite and helpful

It was great to go to a hotel that didn’t have food on offer as it encouraged us to venture out and try many of the lovely local pubs!

Great location - until you try to get some sleep on a Friday night. It’s within a few yards of the entrance of a nightclub so there were groups of people shouting right outside my window until after 3am. The hotel had provided earplugs on the bedside table so they know it’s an issue. I still needed to bury my head under a pillow all night to drown out the noise. Maybe it’s fine earlier in the week, but be warned if you are staying at the weekend.

So sorry to hear that you had disturbed sleep from outside noise at night Ian. Just so you know we have now fitted all rooms with superb noise-reducing secondary glazing that has had a massive impact on external noises. We hope you will try us again - we guarantee a much better, more peaceful sleep! All the best.
