Travellers' Choice
The Great Malvern Hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Great Malvern. We are a friendly, family run business offering comfortable accommodation, great food, and good, old fashioned hospitality and service. Built in 1842 the hotel has been updated whilst still retaining many of it's historical features. The Sutton Family bought The Great Malvern Hotel in 1999, with the intention of running a small town centre hotel which had been an ambition of Jeremy. Rani, his wife, his children and parents have a day to day influence in the hotel and are supported by long standing members of staff. Good accommodation, good food and fine CAMRA cask ales.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed here as a we were working locally and cannot fault this lovely little hotel. From the moment we arrived (obviously first stop was a "refreshment") after the 2.5hr drive, we were welcomed with great warmth and a smile from the barman on duty. As we had the evening to explore Great Malvern, we ventured out and there is so much within walking distance. We came back and had a "night cap" - Different staff on duty but just as welcoming. Breakfast is so good (in such a lovely little quiet area), and a nice change to be able to pick what you want rather than cold soggy buffets offered elsewhere. Rooms are a good size and have everything you need (including some retro sweets) My husband booked another nights stay while on site as he is still working there, and is about to book another 2 nights next week. So nice to have somewhere so warm and welcoming while working away! Cannot recommend this hotel enough :-)

We had a wonderful time in Great Malvern stopping at the Great Malvern Hotel which is right in the Centre, the staff were very friendly, helpful and we were made very welcome, the breakfast was outstanding and plentiful, the bar has 14 draught beers and was always very busy, our room was large with a fantastic view of the Malvern hills and modern bathroom, we would differently go back and would recommend this hotel, on site parking was a bonus

It was just what I needed. The breakfast was delightful as I could have whatever I liked ( rather than being a set piece) as long as I ate it all.... They hate food waste and so do I! I loved the waiter... The owner's cheeky sense of humour as he served. The trays in the bedrooms for walking boots were great.

Lovely family run hotel, bar and restaurant. Five of us had supper there last week and the whole experience in their small dining room was excellent. Helpful attentive staff, tasty 'Home Cooked' food and a lovely atmosphere. Prices were very fair and the hotel is also 'Dog Friendly. Highly recommended.

Very pleasant stay. Comfortable beds, clean room. Great hotel bar with real ales. Excellent meals, breakfast was first class but we also had a bar meal which I highly recommend. Stones throw away from the theatre. The staff were so great, best customer service I have had in a UK hotel. Great hotel, highly recommended.

Nice hotel with a warm feel, music in the bar is nice and range of beers good. We didn't eat but the menu looked nice and prices were reasonable. Only shame is the grumpy old barmaid, I don't think she was made for customer service!

Comfy bed. Lovely clean room with views and lots of nice touches like fresh milk on request you can keep in your fridge. Also a bowl of sweets.Great breakfast choices and cosy pub downstairs with well priced drinks. Super friendly staff. Thanks especially to Jeremy for attentive service and local recommendations including theatres. Great for walking the hills straight from the door. Would highly recommend.

Lovely hotel set in the heart of Great Malvern making the location ideal. Staff were all friendly & polite at all times. Also went that extra yard to help with any other things that were required. Hotel was clean throughout & held some of it's old charm. Price wise was great value & all round an enjoyable stay.

Great family run hotel in the middle of Great Malvern. We parked in the small car park (with room for about 7 vehicles) in through the side door to reception and there was a lift up to our twin room on the second floor. The room was spacious, twin beds, comfy chairs, coffee table, TV, hot drink station, big wardrobe and a large bathroom with shower over a bath. All toiletries and fluffy towels were provided. We had a G&T each and a super evening meal, really nice. The bar was a bit lively, (it was Saturday night) so we sat in the smaller quieter room across the corridor. The breakfast room was on the 1st floor with a great selection for vegan, veggie and meat eaters. I had scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, coffee, orange juice, my sister had smashed avocado on toast with 2 poached eggs. The staff were great, funny, friendly and really helpful. The food was great, the beds were comfy and it was slap bang in the middle of Malvern.
