What a delightful and lovely stay we had recently with Alexandra at Sidney House. The place is stylish, meticulously clean and professional. Alex is warm and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfywas scrumptious and great ingredients, great choice and great quality. Alex is dealing with Covid regulations and restrictions well and still makes your stay enjoyable and welcoming. Thank you Alex.

I have stayed in Malvern a couple of times and thought we would try somewhere new. This is our first trip away since “Lockdown” and we were a little bit concerned COVID restrictions would affect our trip. Alexandra ensured it didn’t !! She is the perfect host, nothing is too much trouble. Our room was lovely with a fantastic view and the bed REALLY comfy. The whole place is immaculate and every care has been taken to make you feel safe, which we did. The cooked breakfast is incredible. Quality produce cooked really well. This is a great base for walking, perfectly placed. We will definitely be back. Thank you Alexandra.

We've been to Malvern many times and Sidney House was always on the list of places we wanted to stay. We were so glad we did. Alexandra was the perfect host and couldn't have been more helpful when I'd called up to ask about our visit. Although Covid has put restrictions on staying at hotels etc, you wouldn't have known. Sidney House is stunning with views to die for. Our room (Nightingale) was beautiful and we could lie on the bed and take in the panoramic countryside. It was very comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, all locally sourced produce and set us up for a full day's walking in the hills. It's a very short walk into town and is practically at the foot of North Hill so the best of both worlds for us. We will definitely be staying again! Thank you so much again Alexandra and team. It was wonderful!

This was a perfect post lockdown getaway for us. Wonderful room with stunning views, generous and thoughtful hosts, and a strong sense of everything being done to keep everyone safe in these strange days. As well as a fantastic B&B, this place is within a stone’s throw of amazing walks on the hills and within a few minutes’ walk of a pretty town that has plenty to offer for a weekend away, including restaurants and cafés that have reopened. If you’re looking for a short break to reassure yourself that there is life after lockdown, then we heartily recommend Sidney House. Thank you so much to Alexandra and team.

After driving for 3 hours in the wind and rain of storm Denis, we certainly were ready to get to sidney house. We were not disappointed with what we booked. A very presentable property from the road side with off street parking. Knocked on the door and was greeted with a smile. Guided up to our room and ask if we would like a piece of cake which was a nice touch. The next morning breakfast was loverly and plentiful. Would highly recommend.

Had a one night stay at Sidney House, shame it wasn't longer! Lovely reception and delicious lemon cake from the owner on arrival. We booked the Tolkien suite - room was really nice, very comfortable bed. Bathroom was enormous with a lovely bath and separate shower. Everything spotlessly clean. Breakfast was incredible. We both had full English, beautiful produce all very well cooked, one of the best hotel breakfasts we have had. Would definitely recommend and would happily stay again .

We stayed at Sidney House for two nights for the RHS Autumn show, Alexandra gave us a warm welcome when we arrived and the home made brownies were delicious! We stayed in the Tolkien suite which was very tastefully decorated and very clean, the king size bed was really comfortable and we loved the bathroom! The breakfast was really well cooked and there was a good selection of food for the continental breakfast too. I would highly recommend Sidney House for anyone looking for a quiet getaway!

"Professional" can be a two edged word. It can imply cynical and ruthless - 'a professional foul' - or slick, impersonal and corporate - 'he came across cold, and simply professional'. We are all used to the carefully crafted logos, the 'have a nice day smiles', the fakery of so much in the hospitality industry. The couple who have run Sidney House for the last few years are none of those things. But they are professional, in all the best ways. From the font and colour chosen for the sign in front of the neat and perfectly-sized car park to the choice of shampoo and conditioner in the bathrooms, one senses that everything has been thought about with care and with a clear view to creating a space which is true to itself, true to the town and area in which it is placed, and the most welcoming and comfortable possible for the guest. So what can we say? Location: Sidney House is on the top road in Malvern - top for proximity to the hills, to the best restaurants and to the best views across towards the Costwolds. Amazing location! Parking: as stated, Sidney House has its own parking area. This is an invaluable asset in this end of the town, where aspirant hill walkers come in fair numbers. Ambience: The home into which you arrive is a purpose-built 19th century BnB. I think that it fell on hard times - but has been restored to its former glory, and then some. The period feel is lovely - fantastic furniture and fittings, while at the same time contemporary. (On the assumption that the Victorians did not have a plethora of USB charging points in every room!) Welcome: Alexandra welcomed us personally showed us around and made us feel at home. Professional, but genuine. Not slick! Rooms and facilities: as well as your own room and bathroom, guests have the use of the communal breakfast room and a large lounge. Both these rooms run from front to back of the house, with light coming in at either end, and The View at the east side. We slept in Tolkien. We found afterwards that this is probably the best room. Ask for it. By name. The bedroom is wonderful; the bathroom is to die for. Excellent shower, separate toilet off the bathroom, and a bath set in the middle of the room. See my pics. The bathrobes provided were amongst the most comfortable I have had in a hotel. Breakfast: A very good full English breakfast - inc beans. Sausage relatively loosely textured, highish meat content, bacon good. Make your own toast, spread it with good butter and really excellent home-made jams. A breakfast to linger over! Quirks and cautions - though not quibbles! 1) You will not be allowed to wear outside shoes into the house. Slippers are provided (though I had my own with me.) This undoubtedly contributes to the fantastic freshness and cleanliness of the whole place, but may be felt quirky by some. 2) The provided towels may not seem generous. This is down to environmental and laundry targets - but if you take the trouble to actually read the info in the rooms, you will find that you can have a heavy bath sheet if you wish. My bad! TBH the towels we had were perfectly adequate, it was just that they seemed out of kilter with the sumptuous perfection of the room. rest assured - towels of that standard are waiting for you if you want them! 3) The place really is a small BnB run by one couple. As such, check-in times don't have the flexibility of a large multi-staff hotel. We tried to respect that, and got added value with a stunning meal down the road at the Terrace on the Hill for our pains - I will review there too! That's about it. We were here for work, but made a weekend of it. So glad! We will try to come back, and would highly recommend the place to anyone wanting to see this lovely part of Worcestershire.
