What a fantastic weekend. We camped with our friends, three groups of families. Our children had so much fun. The little ones really enjoyed the craft workshops and face painting. The coffee shop was a bonus with smoothies and shakes made from fresh ingredients. The staff worked hard all weekend to keep the facilities clean. The nearest shop is a few miles away so we will plan this for our next trip. The manager was very helpful and given us useful directions on how to get to the nearby shop. We will definitely book again.

Based upon our previous amazing visit in 2022, we were keen to return. We booked for the Solstice Weekend (23rd-25th June) expecting live bands etc. as per the hype on the website. The site was dead, completely lacking any of the vibe previously experienced. A complete non-event. No music, bar open for a few hours a day and over priced coffee's & shakes. When challenged, the owner got quite defensive and cited that with only around 100 campers booked in, he could not justify putting on live music! If you can't deliver the goods, don't take the money. Generally the whole site looked in need of a good clean and some TLC. What we got was overpriced and under delivered, leaving us with a bitter taste. This weekend was supposed to be a taster weekend for our friends group to encourage them to book for Shenanigan's. Let's just say that none of our group will be booking for Shenanigan's this year. It's such a shame as this was a great place to camp.

The campsite is an overpriced, underwhelming and frankly not at all child/family friendly. The 'family/quiet' camping has a curfew of noise of 10pm, we had drunk groups of people screaming and shouting until gone 2am both Fri and sat night. Music being blared from the other campsite until gone 5.30am Sunday morning. The toilets and showers, we're given a basic clean with eco friendly cleaning products, which I'm not against, but given the fact these facilities are used a lot they weren't very clean. The sink for your washing up was beyond filthy. The cafe was overpriced, milkshakes I heard were complained about by lots of other campers. The three domes they had weren't utilised, despite it looking like the solstice camping weekend was going to have something on there was one craft stall ran by an 11yr old girl. There is a swing set with no swings, dirty tissue and rubbish in the field. And just generally the most overpriced camping we've ever come across. Having spent nearly a £100 for 2x nights for 2 adults and a child we expected a lot more, or at least something there for the kids. Such as swings etc but there is literally nothing. It's a drug filled, drunken campsite, people were lying on the floor in walk ways, weed was being smoked everywhere and it was just completely unwelcoming and unfriendly. We'd never visit again, wouldn't recommended and left disappointed and shocked at the way things are set up here.

- Camping plots in “quiet field” on a steep slope and very long grass with occasional nettles. This makes pitching as a group difficult. - Dogs both that of the owner and some of guests just wander/run around without supervision which meant that those dogs were not cleaned up after and on one occasion we woke to find dog mess right outside of our tent door. - Music, drumming and chanting went on loudly beyond 4am each night making sleep impossible (we were in the quiet campsite!) - The weekend was described as a family event but it didn’t seem child friendly/safe at all and the majority of people, including staff appeared high as a kite. - Showers were really poor in terms of pressure which seemed to dip out to become even worse when any other taps etc were being used. There were also only 2 showers and 3 toilets for a weekend which was very busy and had a lot of people to serve. Overall we found the weekend uncomfortable both from a practical sense and socially with the staff/other clientele.

A friend had visited a couple of years back and we saved the site as a one we must visit.. so this year was the year we did and I’m so glad we did! The weather was on our side, which always makes camping more fun! But the site was just like a festival, without the massive festival prices! What we loved about the place: The activity tent and all the things you can get to try The bar on site Entertainment Communal fire pit with comfy sofas Smoothie man & food on site Friendly people and dogs ( we are a dog-less, dog loving family.. so for us this is a pro) Lovely walks and off road mountain bike ride (not for the novice riders... the hills are a killer) Warm showers and very clean facilities Beautiful views in any direction Make sure you have everything you need as there are no shops etc in walking distance. We will definitely be back! It’s one of the nicest places we have visited in a long time.

Absolutely fabulous weekend. Ian and his team at OTG are superstars and couldn't be more friendly and accommodating. The site is beautiful in all directions, try to get to the ancient pines alongside the spectacular yellow rape feilds, it's worth it. Evening entertainment was a blast, Mal's bar is very reasonable, the showers are warm and the toilets are clean and flushing and when we were there, the weather couldn't have been better so we chatted into the early hours round the fire. We will back soon!

This was our second visit to this campsite, the first being for a friend's wedding, so we knew what it was all about. It's a beautiful location and not your usual campsite - there's a small festival feel to the place, and it's certainly a lot more relaxed and fun that other sites we have been too. We had a mixture of tents and pods when we were there, and the pods are highly recommend - way bigger inside than they might first appear and very comfortable with electricity, a gas camping stove etc. It's a beautiful site and even though the weather was a mixed bag when we there we were able to find space to chill out and shelter from the rain. Facilities are pretty decent - the toilets and showers are adequate enough for a few days, and there was a on-site catering stand during our visit (run by a lovely friendly couple who also moonlighted doing a quiz and DJing) and a coffee/smoothie van. More than enough for a few days, although be warned that the nearest shop is about a 5 mile drive so you'll want to ensure you have everything you need with you. The owners and staff are great, with Ian being a proper character. Out to Grass is certainly our favourite camp site, and we will be back again. The only downside I can think of is because it does have a festival-without-the-bands feel you might find there's a bit more noise going on than at other places with a strict curfew. For us though that's a bonus and we loved it. If you are looking for something a bit different then this place comes highly recommended.

This is a nicely kept site in a nice part of the world. We've visited before and returned this year having enjoyed our last stay. Pros Festival vibe, live music, bar and also catering as well on site this year. Relaxed feel. OK, clean facilities. Cons Noisy till late. Very limited number of toilets and showers considering the size of the site. Huge number dogs off leads, despite having a dogs on lead policy and assurances in responses to previous reviews that the policy would be adhered to. An issue (hopefully just for this year) was that very little had been done in terms of adaptations to account for covid 19...we visited three sites this summer and Out to Grass was by far the site with the least done to be safe for all on site. While I'm very much in favour of the site's green ethics I'm not in favour of the new rule that all rubbish must be taken away by visitors...if you want to cook your own food rather than buy food on site, that means that your parting memory will be driving with a stinking post-camping bin liner in the car with you... Disappointing overall and don't think we'll be back.

Found this campsite on Google, mainly for location but also the eco vibe. We were two family groups of 4 together, one in tent, one campervan. We had a lovely stay. The facilities were kept really clean, the coffee/smoothie van and BBQ caterer were unexpected but really welcome. The evening music was a great backdrop around the fire (we could have danced but didn't this time!). The atmosphere was really friendly and relaxed. The noisy evenings weren't a problem as our kids slept through it, but I can see how it might be for more sensitive children. Taking our own rubbish made total sense and as it was just a weekend, it was fine. We enjoyed a great walk off campsite around the woods, also found a lovely spot to swim/paddle at Lugg Meadows about 25 min drive away.

We had the most amazing weekend at Out to Grass for our friends 40th birthday. The campsite is set up for everything you could need including a bar, street food van and dance dome. The folks at Out to Grass are super accommodating and helpful and really helped us make the most out of our staff including letting us play our own playlists from the dance dome and screen a film in the cinema area. The location is beautiful with views of the hills and feels very remote even though it was easy to get to. We had a van with us and were allowed to park it on the site and made everything so easy. Thank you Out to Grass! We love you and we will be back ❤️
