We stayed in The luxury shepherds hut for 1 night (should have been 2 but work called) we would have gladly stayed longer ! The site was easy to find and check in was effortless. There was a pub directly on the front of the site but unfortunately closed on the day we stayed if not we would have definitely used it as it looked lovely. In the hut itself we were very surprised as to what was included , oven, grill, hob, sink, toaster, kettle , even washing up utensils and liquid etc, a tv (although the channels didn’t work we were able to watch dvds which were provided) , books , maps (if we wanted to explore) , cards , dominoes , jigsaw , radio , infact too much to mention !! the chemical toilet was a god send not having to go out to the shared block in the middle of the night (which were very clean and I was happy to use at other times) . The log burner kept my husband happy for hours 🤣 again everything provided what we would need. There was a table and chairs outside for us to use and lovely views over neighbouring fields or over the private pond where our hut was situated. We very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely return, we have recommended it to friends who loved the photos we’ve shown them. Please ignore any negative reviews or comments some people are too picky and don’t understand that Glamping is a luxury form of camping ! Not a pristine 5star hotel stay. It’s relaxing , very well equipped and one of our favourite sites so far.

Broadown lodge, dirty, dated, should not be rented out as a holiday let until fully deep cleaned, day of arrival cobwebs in every room big enough to hang washing on. The smell was just awful,. There is no excuse for dirt none at all

Perfect & Peaceful Second year we’ve visited , staying longer this time a full week including the 4 Day Jubilee weekend , both times in the deluxe shepherds hut. The deluxe hut contains all you need for a peaceful and relaxing getaway . Kitchen area is equipped with all you need ( Stove , kettle , microwave , plates and utensils ) , log burner & Wood provided . TV / DVD also in place ( signal on TV can he temperamental BUT the perfect chance to switch off from the world ) Beds are comfy & easy to assemble , the toilet is a bonus too. Short walk to showers ( and additional toilets ) - these were always clean. Beyond all of the above … it’s so peaceful , beyond the sounds of the countryside & nothing else . Useful numbers provided . Highly recommend The Duke of York pub situated on the entrance to the site ! Fingers crossed we’ll be back in 2023 .

This was our second visit and this time we brought our son daughter-in-law and grandchildren., ages 7&5 . We had the most amazing time . Yes the huts are quite basic but that’s the point to do something different. We had the luxury , family and rustic huts between 6 adults & the 2 children and a dog and they were excellent. Everybody on the site were really friendly and helpful and the Duke of York pub very friendly and welcoming, there was a birthday party on and we were invited to join in. All the amenities are there and the huts are totally charming, our grandchildren want to live there ! So all of us would definitely recommend (even Archie the dog who loved it ) 😁😁

Great staycation in the Deluxe Shepard’s Hut. only stayed 3 night but wonderful that we could switch off and get away from everything. Great location and only a short drive to Malvern and Ledbury. This is our 3rd stay here and would come back again. Only reason not a 5 is the loo seat needs securing as when you sit on it keeps sliding to the side. Everything else perfect thank you !

A friend, myself and the dog have just had a wonderful week in Broad Down Lodge (sleeps 3). It was spacious and warm and the sofas are really comfortable, as are the beds. The shower was wonderfully powerful. The lodge was clean, warm and well appointed. The site is glorious as it’s so small and quiet. The birdsong was amazing and the little path Out the back leading to an open field was a godsend for the dog. The area itself is a fabulous place for mooching around historic towns and walking of course. We treated ourselves to a splendid, posh meal out at the nearby The Inn at Welland too. I’ll be booking Broad Down Lodge again for sure. Thanks Davina!

We just stayed for one night in a classic caravan. We were very happy with the site, accommodation and facilities and whilst there were already discussing going back to stay again. The classic caravan had everything you needed and certainly more than we were expecting. The site is quiet, peaceful, relaxing and well kept. The facilities were very clean and well stocked with toilet paper, hand towels, soap, cleaner, etc. The caravan had instructions throughout on how to use everything and where everything was, and had full contact details available should you have any questions or require help with anything. We were emailed detailed instructions what to do on arrival, which one was our caravan, etc. There was also plenty of information in the caravan on the surrounding area, walks, places to visit, etc. There is very little phone signal, but once you are at the pub next door, which is about a 1 minute walk, you can use the free wifi there should you need to. The site seems to be a mixture of rented accommodation and owned caravans and the owners came across friendly. The food and drink in the pub, (The Duke of York), was very good and the landlord, staff and locals very helpful and friendly. We will stay longer next time !

A nice setting for the site, next to the pub and with great views. It's in the middle of the countryside so nice and peaceful. Unfortunately when we arrived there's no instructions or anyone to greet you so you just have to find things out for yourself. We had to go and ask other people staying there how we found the places we were staying and check in. There's basic instructions in the caravans and huts as to how things operate but we weren't expecting to be woken at 3 o clock in the morning by an awful screeching noise that turned out to be the water pump when the water is running low. The toilet block and showers is really very basic, the lock on the shower door was broken, there were a few plates supplied but only one bowl, a broken brush and dustpan so you can't clean up, a broken old mirror on the wall, the bedroom door kept coming off the roller. We won't be going back.

This is a review for the traditional shepherds hut. It was incredibly quiet, more so than any other place I have stayed. You can hear the birds and not much else, although there is some noise from the pub as you get closer to it, especially at closing time. There were very few people staying on the site, especially the first night which was a Monday and the pub appeared to maybe be closed that day too.We loved the peace and quiet. I think if the whole place had been occupied, we might have liked the site much less. The hut is delightful. Owners have thought of everything inside the hut to make your stay comfortable. If you want to self cater, this makes it much easier. It had a gas camping stove/grill in the traditional hut which was fine. I could not get it to light the first evening so I called the owner and Jim came out immediately and showed me how to work it which was lovely. What the hut lacks is a proper fridge though as the cooler box is 12v and takes power from the lights. If you use both, you quickly drain the battery (electric is battery powered). We stayed 2 days and by day 2, the cooler stopped working because we had used the lights the night before. All the other accommodations have proper cold storage so I would definitely stay in one of those next time I visit as that makes self catering more doable which is very important for us. We were probably the only people using the toilets which was good as they would be hard to keep clean with only 2 toilets for all the units. All the other accommodations except the traditional huts, have a toilet anyway, Other people were using the showers though and there were 2 of them. They were clean and very efficient. Most of the site is taken up with static caravans which at first I was put off by, but hardly anyone was staying in them when we visited, perhaps only 3 of the around 20 there. Regardless of which hut or caravan you stay in, you do need to be willing to be a bit hands on to collect water from the tap in a storage container and to empty your waste grey water. If you don't want to do these things, then this isn't the place for you, or choose a lodge instead. The inside of the hut is comfortable but very tight, even for two. The bed when made into a double is not long enough and the only way for anyone over 5ft 7 to sleep, is to lie diagonal. I ended up sleeping on the camp bed as it just could not work for me (I am 5ft 10). However, with the camp bed, no one can get by you as you will take up all the usable space. Please note there is no tv in this hut and there is no internet on the site. The site is definitely more appropriate for adults and older children. I think it would be boring for little children and because its so quiet, their shouts might annoy the other residents to be honest. There is however, a small play area at the pub. This site is great for dog owners as there is a walking path behind the static caravan across from the traditional hut which will bring you to open fields. Overall, we loved our stay but would only recommend the traditional hut for one night stays, stays where you are eating every meal out, and for a maximum of 2 people. If you want to stay longer or self cater, go for the luxury hut or a caravan, as we plan to do next time.
