Fabulous, good wholesome quality food, one pub not to miss. We stopped here a couple of times during our stay at the campsite nearby. Staff attentive and courteous, they don't scrimp on food portions, fresh food cooked at it's best. Pity we could stay longer, really enjoyed our meals

Our stay at the Bell was the last stop on a road trip to the south west and the hotel was by far the best hotel we stayed in on that trip. (see our previous Taunton review to see how to get it wrong!) The room has been refurbished to a high standard, was large and immaculately clean. As the weather was very warm a fan had already been provided in the room, which we had to use at night, but it was very quiet so didn’t disturb our sleep at all. The staff were very helpful and pleasant throughout, quick and easy check in, great service both at the bar. at dinner, and at breakfast. The food was exceptional, even something as simple as a Ploughman’s which had local produce, cheese, honey roast ham, bread and lovely house pickle. Much better than the mass produced stuff you get from the big chains. Breakfast was also lovely, again local produce, cooked perfectly with pleasant efficient service. All in all a great stay which restored our faith in using smaller hotels, which we find have staff who genuinely want to provide a great service, rather than some larger hotels who don’t have such high standards and staff who aren’t interested in customer feedback. I would highly recommend a stay at The Bell, in fact we have already booked for a return visit in May when we go to the Malvern Show.
