Stayed for three nights with my young daughter at the start of August, only booked the stay the day before and got a "cheaper" deal, it still cost about £300 which didn't feel particularly great especially with the caravan we stayed in. It was clearly an old model, loads of cigarette butts on the floor just outside the door, bathroom smelt a bit too. That said it was a good location in the park as it was a short walk from the beach and to the club where there's entertainment and food. The beach had lots of pebbles but there was some sand nearer the sea, weather wasn't good when we were there but it was nice to have a walk and mess around on the beach. There's an area facing the beach where there's a smallish amusement arcade (wasn't particularly good, the 2p machines had no "prizes" so not as appealing for my daughter to play), a restaurant, ice cream parlour, trampolines (got to pay for them). There were a couple of small play areas within the park (as in one small piece of climbing/slide equipment in each) and a slightly bigger play area as you enter the park (this was better and spent a bit of time here). We ate at the club once, not particularly cheap and a bit weird to me where you order at a take-away counter which is straight ahead as you go through the main door (you have to tell them which room you're in and where you're sitting), turn left and then there's rooms either side, one is for kids entertainment and has a stage (really busy in there, no room for us to sit down), the other a bar/lounge area and some adult entertainment (bingo, singers), food was nice though, I had a curry and my daughter had sausage and chips. There's a small indoor swimming pool, had a look at it but it wasn't particularly appealing, I was glad that my daughter didn't want to go in. There's also another building which houses an indoor soft play but we didn't venture in there either. The park was fairly clean but at the play areas there tended to be rubbish (sweet/crisp wrappers, cans, bottles) left lying around on the floor despite bins being there. The park location is good as it's only about a 10 min drive to go to the centre of Aberystwyth where there's a castle (with a good playground), beach, a pier, constitution hill with cliff railway and obviously shops, pubs and restaurants.

Firstly please go with an open mind. After reading reviews on here before I left I was very nervous about visiting here and what was awaiting us.
That soon disappeared. Firstly we booked a bronze caravan and if you have too, please be mindful as they are a bronze standard, very basic, rooms are not spacious at all and the shower wasn't the best, however on arrival they was very clean with fresh bedding in sealed packaging. It has everything you need for your trip. We literally just slept in our caravan as we was up and out most days.

We did not go in the showboat as there was no entertainment due to covid.

Swimming pool was very clean however you have to book this on the day at reception and you only get a 45 min slot including getting changed. If you have booked privately you cannot use the swimming pools.

Campsite is good for small children but not for teens, arcade is basic and most machines were broken. Little funfair for kids costing only £1 a ride again nothing for kids over 11ish.

Has an amazing fish and chip shop. Food is gorgeous.

Has a waffle/crepe and ice cream stall which was amazing. The only thing was the queuing but worth it.

There is no cash machine onsite but everywhere took card.

The beach is full of pebbles with limited sand however we spent 4 nights down there watching the sunset with beers music when even a little beach fire. We had a great time down there. The views were simply stunning

The views in Aberystwyth were absolutely stunning and the water is so clear and clean. Venture out if you can because its worth it.

Overall we had a fabulous holiday and throughly enjoyed it. We would definitely book again but book a better caravan but like I said above it did the job for us and had everything we needed.

Aberystwyth you was amazing and we were very gutted to be leaving such a beautiful place.

Can I start by saying, the site is in an absolutely stunning location, the staff that we encountered were really pleasant and helpful, but the caravan we were assigned was far from pleasant. It was advertised as a silver plus,We were in GM41. The location was excellent, 2mins to clubhouse, 2 mins the other way to reception, beach, restaurants, shops, arcade etc. The caravan itself had been meticulously cleaned, but the carpet was terribly stained, the main settee in front of the window used to sink down due to the storage area below being broken, the hot water came out in little more than a trickle. The toaster was broken, which to be fair was replaced the day after we reported it. The drawers in the bedroom needed the dowels re glueing to the drawer fronts. But our main issue was the oven. When we tried to use it for the first time on the evening of our arrival, we found it kept going out. Reported it first thing Tuesday morning, they repaired it Thursday afternoon. Would of worked out quite expensive for a family having to buy takeaway food because they couldn't cook, luckily there was only two of us, so only ended up about £40 out of pocket. But to recap if you get good accommodation this park has all the attributes to give you a fabulous holiday.

Well where do I begin! First visit to this campsite and probably the last. First of all at time of booking we werent told all food places and other amenities on site were all closed till april! On entering our chalet I wanted to cry. The bin was full of rubbish, the tv was broke, the glass shower curtain was broke and I've never seen something so dusty and dirty. The taps in the bathroom didn't work so you can only wash your hands in the kitchen area. The hot water was not hot so cold showers for us! We complained to a lady she said someone would call us but still no phone call five days later!! Upset and very disappointed!!!!

We stayed in a Platinum grade caravan for 7 nights, I chose Clarach Bay due to its location and the amount of facilities on the park. I had always loved my Haven holidays as a child but the quote I had from Haven was over £2000 for a week, so Clarach Bay seemed like a good alternative. I wasn’t disappointed!
The caravan was spotless and well equipped, we had a lovely welcome pack including a bottle of Prosecco which was great.
Everything was reasonably priced so we didn’t mind eating out often and spoiling the children. The quality of the food is really good, having fish and chips right on the beach is amazing!
The on-site shop is well stocked, the rides are all clean and well maintained. A highlight for us was the swimming pool, it was warm, clean and the lifeguards were lovely, especially Ffion.
The surroundings are beautiful and there is plenty to do in the area. The staff are all helpful and friendly. I couldn’t have asked for a better holiday. Thank you Clarach Bay staff.

A nice base to visit the surrounding area from. Carravan was more chalet like than normal static caravans visited. View from verranda was amazing.
Only negatives:
Our location (no 7), needed larger hot water boiler. The one in there is too small for two adults wanting showers, shave etc.
No wi-fi. Not a bad thing now and then but nice to be able to check in with outside world now and then.
A bar where couples without kids could have a drink and relax. We went to the recreation centre on Friday evening with intention of having a few drinks and food. We walked into the nice quiet bar only to be corraled into the family/guests area. Loud music, kids, lots of people.... my hell. Ended up one beer and food to go. Perhaps the "owners" could use an area off the main rooms??
Apart from that, as already stated, a nice base to come back to after exploring the local area.

Location was great with the beach right on your doorstep. Plenty of facilities open despite covid situation. Staff were friendly enough, although only 1 that came to caravan adhered to social distancing.
Caravan itself was meant to be a silver however it was dirty on arrival, found previous guests belongings behind cushions, under beds etc. Cooker was missing a dial for the hob so could only use three rings (something they said they would sort, but never did), gas trigger also didn't work (although maintenance did provide us with a lighter half way through the holiday). Everytime we used the toaster it caused a power cut, which they also said they would fix on day 2 but never did, so had 4 occasions of no power. Tap in kitchen constantly dripped and sink in main bathroom had a leak so floor was always wet.
Would not like to see what a bronze caravan would be like but silver upgrade was definitely not of the standard expected for the money they charged.

Second time in 3 years. Have got family local so using it more as a base to sleep than anything. Camp has improved since last time, not looking so tired. Club is currently only open for takeaway and beer garden, pool is closed (all due to lockdown regulations). Pizza and Fish n Chips on the beach are open (again takeaway only) and also the ice cream and hotdog van. This is all nicely socially distanced and good service as usual. Amusements also currently closed. Playgrounds are open, but no sanitizer points so make sure to take some. The caravan we’ve rented privately is wonderful. Will say though as usual it’s some of the guests that let it down leaving their rubbish lying around and not keeping an eye on kids. Had a lovely time despite the coronavirus, great caravan, great price.

After pointing out my list of disapointintments on arriving in my accomadation it is pointed out that because I booked Bronze style accomadation you cannot expect Gold style standards and at your level you must accept that it will be an older more used mobile home ,But we do like feed back..
A sample of what my accomadation gave me. Stained scruffy curtains, torn seating, barely fitting worn stretched seating coverings will foam turning to piles of dust. One wine glass and four shorts glasses. Extremely limited cooking items, four knives, forks, teaspoons, four serving spoons, no desert spoons,no openers, half a pyrex bowl. Television that cannot be angled for all seating to see. Overgrown outside area full of weeds and an unsightly mess of rusting discarded junk and rotting chalets from our scenic front view. Dripping taps and the fridge has never been defrosted leaving the ice box unusable etc etc. This is very sad and over used worn out accomadation. Complaint sent to Hoseasons and will await their response. £400 for this level of accomadation is appalling.
I had assumed Hi De Hi , Mapilins was fantasy but may have been filmed here...
Unfortunately I can only post a few photos but they give you an idea as what to expect.

We had travelled 4hrs to get to the site and arrived early, reception said we were lucky as our caravan was ready; we'd booked a week with our 2 dogs and first impressions of the site we're favorable. Reception gave us a map and and envelope with our key and we went to find the caravan, after driving aimlessly around for 20 minutes we found the van. On entry the smell of stale tobacco smoke hit us , all the caravan windows were open as I suspect the smell was obvious to the cleaner, so the windows were left open in an effort to minimise the smell . On inspection the cooker was filthy, the grill door was difficult to open and when we looked inside the grill grid was hanging off, which made us think it wasn't safe to use. The seating in the caravan was filthy and gritty, and the padding was so thin you could feel the wood underneath. The fridge was dirty and we found dog hairs in there, this caravan had seen better days , it was awful and we both felt mucky just being in there. The double bed was bevelled and we didn't get any sleep that night.
We went down to get something to eat but everything closed at 8pm.
We took a trip into Aberystwyth and what a treacherous journey that was, it was dangerous as there's no street lights and a hair pin bend that nearly took us out. We returned to the site hungry and disheartened.
We went to reception the following morning and explained some of the issues only to be told we could have a re-clean, we were not offered any alternative accommodation or a refund, we drove home that day.
Please don't go to this site; me and my husband have read some terrible reviews and some quite shocking, we booked with our regular travel agent and will be feeding back to them about our ordeal. We have never been to Wales before and unfortunately this experience has put us off ever going back.
