Detailed Reviews
B & B in great location on seafront, around 5 mins walk to town centre, with its bars and restaurants.
Our room had a lovely seaview.
Steep winding stairs (and no lift) may make this hotel unsuitable for people of limited mobility.
Bedroom and ensuite both tired and dated.
Great breakfast.
Car parking is a real bonus in an area with restricted parking
Would definitely consider staying her again if visiting Aberystwyth.

Stayed here for 4 nights over Easter weekend, and was very pleansantly surprised. Seafront rooms have great views, and the first room we were given was on the ground floor. Nice huge room, but we felt a bit sitting in the bay window made us feel a bit lacking privacy with people walking by being able to see right into the room - not quite so good for early morning coffee in dresing gown! We were moved to a smaller but adequate room on second floor by the very helpful receptionist, and this was great. Room was well stocked with tea/coffee, everwhere was spotlessly clean and the evening meal we had on the first night was high quality at reasonable price. All the staff are a credit to the hotel. Would stay here again for sure.

First visit here after family have stayed here before, wow what a fabulous hotel, the staff were the friendliest we have come across and all of them couldnt do enough for you, they were all absolutely wonderful and we cant wait to come back. The rooms are clean, the bed and pillows were so comfy, being right on the sea front is great hearing the waves from your sea view room. The breakfast was so tasty and everything was so efficient and with lots of care, thought and attention. I cant say enough good things about this hotel and we will definitely be back. We booked a long weekend to settle our daughter into university and then have some time to ourselves.
This was my second stay and sadly the last.
The room had the most amazing view however that's where is sadly ends. The room was on a slant, the bed was really uncomfortable and all night we were kept awake by the sound of someone snoring. So, we cut our stay short by one day . When I checked out and said we were leaving a day early the receptionist didn't offer a refund or even a change of room. Sadly we won't be returning 😪

We stayed for two nights on a midweek mini break. The price for a double room was competitive, the room directly overlooked the sea and the promenade. The hotel staff were most friendly and engaging, and made us feel welcome. Tea, coffee and biscuits in the room. Free parking at the rear of the hotel, which few of the other promenade hotels can boast of. We has dinner at the hotel one evening, the food was Welsh inspired and well cooked and served. Certainly a hotel we would come back to.

Booked to return having enjoyed our stay last year. Most things were as good as they were and the dinner we had was excellent.
Unfortunately, we visited during a heat wave. The hotel did not provide fans and the windows only open to the extent of a couple of sheets of A4 paper (for safety reasons). See photo. The room was, therefore, unpleasantly hot almost all of the time.
The responses we had when we expressed out dissatisfaction were poor, ‘We were not expecting a heat wave, the fans have gone off for PAT testing and have not come back, this is one of the things on our backlog that needs doing’ and ‘It’s been over 40 degrees in the kitchen’. When we pointed out that they could have bought a desk fan in Argos for £15, £12 with VAT refunded and that didn’t seem too much to ask as we were paying £520.00 for a 4-night stay there was no response other than a vague apology.

Lovely hotel with friendly pleasant staff, the room was very clean and bright. We had a meal in the evening which was very good, freshly cooked and delicious. The room rate included breakfast which was one of the best breakfasts we've eaten. We would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again.

Very well-run small independent hotel in a great location. Best to book direct for the best price and because it may have rooms available altho booking.com does not. We eventually moved to a seaside view room. Lovely. Staff was very helpful about touring and other options (as was the tourist information office around the corner). It has a dinner restaurant and a bar (with a view). Staff will take your luggage, but be sure, however, you are comfortable walking stairs--no elevator.

My partner and I stayed at the Richmond Hotel for 2 nights in late July. We stayed in Room 17 on the top floor, a Suite with separate Bedroom, Lounge and large Bathroom.
I believe this Suite can be booked along with Room 18 for an extra £20/night, this would turn the Suite into a 2 Bedroom (1 Double and 1 Twin) self-contained Suite, perfect for a family of four.
The view from the Bedroom was amazing, only a road's width from the Promenade and Beach.
The breakfast was a highlight of our stay, the sausages and bacon were both very tasty.
In the past we have stayed in Hotels in New Quay, Llangrannog, and Barmouth, but after finding the Richmond, we will use this as a base to explore the whole of the Ceredigion Coast, its only 15 miles South to New Quay and about 45 mins drive North to Barmouth.
The Staff at the Richmond deserve a special mention, each and every one of them was like a breathe of fresh air, nothing was too much trouble.
We hope to return in 2023 for a longer stay!

During our little road trip staycation we chose Aberystwyth as one location and looking for a hotel we came across the Richmond Hotel.
So glad we did! After our very disappointing last few stops we were hoping for anything more than adequate but we were extremely happy with our stay.
Very warm welcome from the lady at the front desk explained everything to detail and helped us with choosing a restaurant for that evening.
The place it self is good, rooms nicely decorated and en-suite perfect for our needs.
Tea coffee and biscuits in the room were a welcome end to our night out.
The breakfast served on the ground floor was well laid out and your room number dictated your breakfast table.
The choice was good and the cooked breakfast was scrummy!!
Service again was spot on and they couldn’t help enough.
All in all a great stay and can’t recommended this place enough if your stopping over in Aberystwyth.
