Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This hotel is marketed really strangely with photos of an underwhelming Marstons pub, but the hotel is a stand-alone building next door. It's a bit like marketing a Premier Inn with a photo of a Beefeater. I don't know why they do it, but it has put me off using it previously. It's a small hotel (about 25 bedrooms) and the entire hotel has recently been repainted, so it feels fresh and new. A higher standard than a Premier Inn and much cheaper! The other factor that has put me off previously is the location, but the walk into town is probably less than 10 minutes. There is ample parking too. I just thought it was great. Some guests are probably put off by having to check-in at the pub bar and the car park really needs a litter pick, but it's great value. I'll be back.

Had the turkey off the new years eve menu and it was lovely. The festive menus altogether had a great variety and their house wines paired perfectly My sister who's vegetarian was originally worried as she didn't know whether there would be any thing that she would like, however she absolutely loved the spinach tart and the vegan chocolate brownie!

Truly awful, one member of staff refused to serve at table if you sat 5 feet outside the table service area, I'm disabled & blind impaired. Very poor attitude, could always find time to tell you how busy she was but not to clean a table, she'd rather leave you standing on crouches. Food was largely unavailable on the menu. When it did come it either microwaved or deep fat fried. Very, very poor.

I’ve had a great stay here in Aberystwyth for work. I stayed for 4 nights (tonight being my last night). The first evening I had food at the hotel as Wi-Fi is very good so I could get on with some work. Food is your standard pub grub but can’t complain. This morning I had breakfast, again knowing the wife is good I wanted to get some work finished. Breakfast again your usual pub/hotel breakfast but I enjoyed it very much pretty cheap and the staff were so lovely and left me to sit there for a few hours to complete my work. I am back for work again in 2 weeks and will be more than happy to stay here. It’s a great location, quick easy walk in to town, free parking and plenty of it, super fast Wi-Fi and lovely staff ☺️

Fully recommend the fish goujons as the better is homemade. Food was piping hot and plentiful. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Our Waitress Jess was very friendly and was able to tell us how the food is made from the starters to the dessert

I stayed the one night at the hotel and eat at the pub. Food was tasty typical pub grub. The rooms were extremely comfortable and quiet. Similar to a 'Premier Inn". You have to book in at reception with is in the adjacent Pub.

Good stay, cheap eats next door and just wanted really to call out the lady called Jess who did the drinks, the food and even checked us in for the one night stay next door. Other customer service folks are available on request :-)
