Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We only went for one night unfortunately. So friendly, we had afternoon tea on arrival in the conservatory. Delicious scones. Later we had booked a massage and time in the spa which was fantastic. Room was lovely. Evening meal wasn’t run of the mill. Exciting menu and cooked to perfection. So relaxing. Had a drink in the bar before settling down in the big bed. My only negative was not having feather pillows. It’s a personal preference so can’t mark it down for that. Breakfast next morning was continental choice and a breakfast cooked to order which is rare these days. They do an offer to add another night on for a discount if rooms are available. We would have stayed if they hadn’t have been fully booked. Llangollen itself was lovely too. Highly recommend

Very poor standard accommodation for the money. No heating in the room during the night. No one available to receive complaint and resolve it until the next day. Still the same the next night. Bar closed earlier than the stated time. Would not recommend and will never stay there again. We paid £150 per night which was a rip off

I stayed here with my partner recently The hotel was lovely room was nice as was the bathroom. Short 10 min walk along river to centre of Llangollen which is stunning Breakfast was amazing one of the best I've ever had good choices food piping hot . My only negative was choices at dinner. Being a vegetarian would have liked more choices Would definitely recommend the hotel

We thoroughly enjoyed our 1 nt winter dbb experience. Lovely staff Comfortable dog friendly room Enjoyed our welcome tea/scones Spa pool/hot tub seems small only available times didn’t suit us which was the only negative aspect. Enjoyed our breakfast and dinner. The cheese board was fab , worth the extra charge. ( 2 courses only on the dbb rate)

Thank you for taking the time to leave us with your feedback, our spa is cosy and holds 12 people at any one time, for this reason we allocate an hour to each guest, there is always the possibility of adding extra time. The Wild Pheasant Team.

Went to the spa today and high tea Unfortunately the pedicure I thought I was getting never came to fruition, I only got a nail trim, even then you don't cut a person's nails with out soaking the feet or wearing gloves, when ever you book with the spa be sure to check you are being charged for what you want, I unfortunately did not receive what I had asked for which is a shame as my friend was treating me as I'm on holiday from Canada and my friend was treating me and has raved how great this place is My friend had to speak to the Manageress. The afternoon tea was delicious the warm scones were the best ever!!!! on a rainy afternoon it was nice to relax in the spa pools and have a delicious afternoon tea, what happened in the spa I hope never happens to anyone else.

Second time in this hotel, the last being many years ago. The room was spacious, warm, and clean and the bed was wonderful. The evening meal was very nice, good menu selection. What impressed us the most was the staff, they are all immaculately presented, well-mannered and friendly. They turn a very good hotel into an excellent hotel, we will be going back.

5* service, amazing staff and management!! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, I bought my partner here for a little surprise birthday treat and what a fabulous stay it’s been. The hotel is fantastic, great facilities, lovely setting and very clean and tidy. But what definitely makes the stay is the wonderful staff. Thank you to everyone that made this stay so extra special, the lovely room you gave us, the birthday card for jo and the wonderful evening meal where we were looked after amazingly, a big thank to the chef for Jo’s special birthday cake 😊. It’s the little touches that make things special and you really made Jo’s day very special. Please pass on my thanks to Mel, all the staff in the restaurant last night and the Chef for a lovely stay. Kind regards. Greg & Jo

We stayed here as we had a canoe trip booked just up the road. The hotel room was massive and lovely, but for such a big room shame it wasn't a larger bed/bathroom etc.. seems a waste of space. Water in plastic bottles not glass. Staff friendly and helpful. We did use the spa in the morning and apart from robes not being free the pool was lovely, clean, warm etc. We ordered room service as by the time we arrived was tired. The food arrived in good time and warm. Lacking on sauces and chicken burger bit dry but was ok. Bar area is very small and uninviting, was a large group of guys in there so loud another reason for us doing room service. The restaurant was empty.. I don't know why they don't offer the bar menu in the restaurant it would allow customers to have more room to eat and spread out enjoy the hotel more. That night the loud group of guys then made so much noise walking past, banging doors chatting at 3am!!! No phone in bedrooms to ring reception to complain. Breakfast was in the restaurant , coffee not the best, hot food is ordered but beans came out cold and looked like was sat in the pot for a while under light etc.. staff friendly.
