Perfect base for activities and exploring around LLangollen. Our room (no 6) was a lovely big attic room. The bed was really comfy, shower was good, fridge for beers and a lovely view of the mountains. Jaime was also really helpful, letting us know early on arrival day that our room was ready so we could get there earlier than planned and fully enjoy our weekend. Also really convenient having the car park right behind us through a code locked door. Will definitely return.

I cannot recommend Llangollen Hostel enough. It is outstanding value for money, centrally located, with high quality, well thought out facilities. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a large communal kitchen, dining room and also sitting room.

We had the "suite" on the top floor. Two spacious and clean rooms in the attic, one of which had a lovely view towards Castle Bran above the town. A private bathroom and toilet which was great and plenty of tea and coffee making gubbins. We didn't use the kitchen or lounge but both looked well equipped and clean. Location is smashing in the centre of town. Very good spot and we will definitely be back!

We are a small fell running club from South Lakeland and used the Hostel for an overnight stay as we ran a loop around the Llangollen hills. The hostel is immaculate- think premier Inn and a bit more!! Great comfy beds, a very well sorted kitchen and dinng room , free tea and coffee and a great lounge in which to enjoy it. We were a bit cheeky and asked for some cold beer to be left in the fridge ......and it was. Jamie made everything simple and our stay was an absolute delight. Thank you.

Second time we've stayed here on a 'bike-packing' trip. We're a bit old for wild camping (or even 'camping') so the hostel is a well-priced alternative so we can get a decent night's rest for the return journey. As previously the room (same as last time!) was absolutely spotless. The bunks beds are extremely comfortable, mattresses just right for me as was the pillow and the duvet. Tea (Twinings!) and coffee was provided as were cups & glasses on a small table. Bathroom again was spotless, decent pressure on the shower too. The toilet was a bit loose and seemed to shift when you sat down on it - not just the seat but it seemed to be loose where it met the floor. I'd forgotten about the loud closing doors so I was awake from 6am-ish and it was pretty regular for the next couple of hours. Next time I'll pack some earplugs and this would definitely help - the beds are so comfortable that if you wake in the night you'll go straight back to sleep. The owner Jamie is a really friendly, helpful chap, he was doing chores when we bumped into him and he was keen to find out if we were enjoying our stay, which of course we were. Hopefully it won't be too long before we can arrange another trip and the Llangollen hostel is our 'go-to' destination.

Great place to stay. Stayed here with friends in a walking group of 20 people. Warm, comfortable, clean, well equipped and a great location for all amenities. I shared a 5-bed room on the top floor with en-suite shower, tea and coffee making facilities and a mini fridge - plus a great view of the castle! Great value for money.

Stayed with a couple of friends on a two-day bike-packing expedition. We're of an age where a bit of comfort is welcome, especially after a hard-day's ride. We were all pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the Langollen Hostel. Entry instructions were clear and there was even secure bike storage. The Hostel is located in the heart of town, we were in a room at the rear overlooking a car park (and some nearby hills) but it was relatively quiet. The room itself was spotlessly clean, no unpleasant odours and not a trace of dirt or dust. The bed linen was also clean & fresh, the pillows and mattress were of excellent quality - far from basic. A kettle, tea & coffee were provided - a nice little extra. Although we didn't use it, the shared kitchen downstairs has a fridge and plenty of cupboards. The bathroom was also very clean, every surface sparkling. The shower was powerful and easy to operate. There was even a jar of hand-soap. The only negative comment would be that from 7:30am I could hear slamming doors. They're the self-closing type that unfortunately close with a click and a thud - nobody had the courtesy to turn the handle when closing the door and as a result very few minutes there'd be another 'thud'. I began to wonder how many doors were in the hostel. All in all a really enjoyable stay. It's really close to the middle of town so plenty of pubs and restaurants for meals & drinks and also for breakfast. As others have said - hostel doesn't seem the right word - I've stayed in hotels & B&Bs and not had as pleasant an experience. We'd definitely stay again!

Central with huge car park behind. Ask at the hostel for a pass @£2 a day. Right in the middle of town. Clean, warm, wifi, full kitchen. Organized fridge space, freezer and washing machines downstairs. What more could you ask for ? Really comfy bed, I was in a private room with en-suite. This would be a great place to stay with a family. Friendly manager and staff. HIghly recommend.
