Fantastic budget hotel which is extremely dog friendly! ! Really old historical charming character hotel. If you expect premiere inn beds or fittings you will be disappointed, however it was warm/comfortable /clean with bags of charm. Food was great especially the cooked breakfast. Staff where lovely. Great family room ,with room for our boxer dog.

The hotel as noted by others, is not modern and in need of renovation. But the facilities available are excellent, staff are friendly and efficient, the food was plentyful, the room was large and clean. The hotel is in centre of town with free parking. An enjoyable visit.

The Hand hotel is an old rambling hotel with lots of character. We had a lovely en-suite room on the second floor with great views over the river Dee. The buffet breakfast was excellent and the bar is cozy with great bar food if you did not fancy the restaurant. Although it was only February we were pleasantly surprised to...

The Hand is an old Hotel in an old and slightly crumbling resort. There are too many empty shops, though there are plenty of adventure companies doing canoes, rafting scrambler bikes and gorge walking, and most of them seem to stay or drink in the Hand. The Wi-Fi is less than perfect, the hot water takes ages to come through,...

We stayed here 11/2/17 - 13/2/17, 2 nights, our reason for giving the hotel 4/5 is that it is a great base for a weekend, although the hotel its self is a bit tired and in need of a spruce up, we stayed in room 18 which over looked the lovely river Dee, the room was comfortable but again needs a...

The Hand is in the centre of town so it's a great location for exploring the surrounding attractions. The room was very clean, warm and comfortable. The bar was a friendly welcoming place which stocked a good selection of drinks. The best aspect the hotel was the staff, they couldn't do enough to help. They were helpful and polite in...

Stayed for one night. and it was ok, we have stayed before and possibly will again. the breakfast could be better, im not a lover of buffet style breakfast as they tend to be over cooked and not hot enough. The place is aged and tired but clean and friendly, and very close to the town centre. we stay in...
