Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Please pay Attention!!! I have used HOTELS.COM four months ago to book an accommodation and payed via HOTELS.COM. When I arrived at hotel the owner had no idea and refused HOTELS.COM's booking and I have to pay again to stay at the hotel. Owner had NO idea about HOTELS.COM. I requested a refund but they NEVER did. So, I realised that the hotels.com is like online pirate website and does NOT have any contract with hotels. They use excuse that they can't get in touch with the hotel I stayed and put the blame on you to KEEP YOUR money. STAY AWAY from HOTELS.COM and just call hotel directly to book you accommodation. The owner of the Hotel Cymyran is great person, we had good chat together.

If I could give it -5 stars I would. Driving through the gates with the whole empty out of season look , should have had us running for the hills. Main hotel doors locked with a sign telling you to telephone a number . The lady /owner answered and told us she didn't have us on the list. We were told to wait 15 minutes and she would drive from Holyhead to see us to our room. When she arrived ,she complained that we had booked through Hotels.com . She said she didn't understand why people did that ? She was grateful that we didn't have children or dogs because she didn't like that type of guest. Alarm bells were clanging but there wasn't another hotel room on Anglesey for that night. She then told us that there were no restaurant/ bar facilities. She said she couldn't get staff because they were lazy and preferred to be on furlough! She then took my money and told me to go downstairs to the room. The key would be in the door . The room looked OK on peeking through the door and unfortunately we had to leave almost immediately as we had arranged to be somewhere. When we got back to the room later on , the full horror of the place showed itself. It was FILTHY. I mean absolutely disgustingly filthy. It hadn't been vacuumed, cleaned ,dusted, lights didn't work. The shower was just horrible , with an absolutely disgusting shower curtain. The cobwebs everywhere were months thick. We didn't dare sleep in the bed and after an hour trying to find alternative accommodation, we went to the local supermarket and bought cleaning supplies. On cleaning a drawer handle , I opened the drawer and there was paperwork from a previous occupant ( who I think had been living there , as there was an offer of a job at the local mental health hospital and a housing application form with the hotel stated as the address) so obviously nothing at all had been cleaned . The cups had rings of dried coffee/tea in them where they hadn't been washed . We slept in the chairs. On leaving , I wanted to complain about the filthy conditions but again the entire building was deserted. Avoid this place like the plague, on hindsight ,we should have just slept in the car . Should the owner dispute any of this , there is dated photographic evidence and I couldn't bring it up at the time as there wasn't a soul to speak to. Lights out everywhere. Please avoid

Appalling attitude from staff. Booked a room only to be told on arrival at 5:30pm that they are fully booked. Staff member was rude and very unhelpful and just said 'nothing we can do'. From the reviews on here im glad we didnt get past the front door!

Unbelievably horrendous. No food or bar. No staff. Filthy mouldy room with a view of a brick wall. £110 paid .. it’s in the middle of nowhere so you have to abstain from drinking due to driving. I can’t believe they’re allowed to advertise on Expedia !!!! Absolute nightmare with crap staff. No breakfast served even though it was booked !!!

This place is awful. We have stayed here before and it was ok . Now the hotel is dirty shabby and not worth the money. We had booked a disabled room with a lovely view of a derelict conservatory and a overgrown terrace, there was a dreadful smell of fuel that upset my husbands chest. the shower was rusty and the floors are in desperate need of grouting. We paid £220 for a shabby room no breakfast or bar. It is not going to last long at the rate . Bates motel would have been better.

Should have read the other reviews on here before booking. If anything this hotel is worse than the impression given. If you book chances are you won't get a room when you arrive. Seriously over priced. You will get better accommodation and service at a youth hostel. Basically do not entertain the concept of staying here.

After booking through Hotel.com and paying £110 for one night, we then on the day of arrival received a phone call stating our card had been declined, which is impossible as we had already paid and had not provided card details, to which then she asked if we were arriving tomorrow, even though our booking was for that day. When we arrived, the receptionist (old lady) was the only member of staff on the premises, and seemed completely lost when we mentioned our booking. She told us to go to room 9, which in turn was without the scenic view we had paid for. We went back down to reception to which we noticed the massive amount of dirt all over the stairs/hallway, this dirt consisted of what we can only describe as years of dust and dead flies. As we explained the room we had been given looked out over a building instead of the mountains, she responded with “that’s OUR building, what is wrong with that?!” We suggested an alternative room which did look out onto the mountains, she responded “oh, what’s that like?” As though she had 0 idea, even though it is her hotel??? She agreed for us to stay in room 10, which when we entered we found yellow stains on the carpet, fingerprints on the BROKEN window which did not close, hairs in the bath with scum lines around it, thick dirt on the towel rail. I couldn’t bring myself to touch anything it was that disgusting! The bar/restaurant did not appear to be open, which was not mentioned to us when booking for our bed and breakfast package. We quickly left the hotel to go to find somewhere for food/drinks, and when returning to the hotel, we make a decision not to even stay there it was that bad. All in all, I would recommend that NOBODY stay here, the attitude of the member of staff was awful and the cleanliness was probably around a 0.5/100. Unfortunately we did not read the reviews before booking, which was a huge mistake, please do not make the same mistake as us!

This hotel was the worst I’ve ever spent in my entire life. Myself and my partner didnt finish cleaning the room for about four hours after arrival. The cleaners are taking the michael with the lady that runs it. DO NOT GO THERE AT ANY COST. You will be better off sleeping in your car. £198 wasted. Also it looks like there is a detention centre on site as the site security were there a few times in the night so no sleep was had. Black tide marks around the bath and thick black dust on the window sills. What a pigsty

Awful dirty place with a very bad mannered management. First we almost charged as an extra for the stay already paid by the manager and then placed in a very dirty basement. As the old lady said pick a room. What kind of a place does that?! All rooms were dirty as hell, never seen something like that before. Won't tell more as the previous reviews before me give a very clear insight of the place. Hardly can call it a hotel. If you can book somewhere else you will be fine.
