Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There is nothing flash or showy about this inn, it just uses good traditional customer service. The food and drink are varied and I found the portions to be just right. I stayed a week here, climbing mountains during the day after a filling cooked breakfast. I would return home to a hot shower, a comfortable and clean room and a friendly atmosphere in the bar for a pint, whisky and evening meal .... will definitely book another week again.

I have been coming to the Tanronnen for a number of years. I absolutely love it for its comfortable rooms, great food, very friendly managers and staff and general value for money.

My latest visit was a few days after it had reopened following lockdown. Hats off to managers Jill and Alun - it was really well organised for social distancing etc and, as usual, everything was going like clockwork.

For dinner during this visit I particularly enjoyed the Welsh lamb shank, the roast beef and Yorkshire pudding and the red berries crumble. As always, Alun's breakfast was a fantastic start to the day.

I’m staying at the Tanronnen Inn for three nights. I’m blown away by the charm of this place and the warm, friendly staff. The bed was really comfy and I had a great sleep. The whole place is spotlessly clean and well maintained.

The pub is a delightful place to sit, relax, and enjoy a drink. The beer is superb. The whole place is incredibly charming and rejuvenating. My room has a view over the bridge and river, and of course, Beddgelert is a beautiful place.

There is parking on the main road outside of summer season, otherwise there are two car parks in the village - and the pub has its own small car park at the rear.

I couldn’t wish for more and I will definitely be coming back to this wonderful place. Next time, I will bring my family.

(I have added the same review to Google maps because I’m so charmed by this place and would like others to know about how good this inn is.)

There were some positives! The lamb was clearly the smaller from the hill, but tasty and he demanded a price and must be respected for it. Salmon, generous and skinless. But fear not, there was plenty of skin on the hollandaise to compensate, this with two new potatoes and a baton de carrot was nowhere near worth the £14.50 demanded.

What we will really remember is the service. With the exception of the older lady behind the bar, staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. We were found a corner table by another patron, made to feel like an inconvenience throughout and when a proper table came available, it was given to other, welsh speaking, drinkers.

We rounded off our visit by ordering some garlic bread, to be told the chef stopped working - at 20.15 - and so attempted to pay but were left waiting by the supervisor who looked, then sat at the back of the bar.

Could be convinced to return, by apocalyptic shortage of food in all of Wales.

We arrived around seven o'clock for a couple of drinks only to see on the door that 'no dogs allowed'. This really surprised us as every man and his wife has a dog around here. Luckily we had left our dog at home. Beddgelert means Gelert's grave, Gelert was a dog! The town wouldn't exist without dogs :-) Luckily we had left our dog at home. On entering the inn, we had to wait to be seated. The gentlemen who greeted us seemed to have the attitude that he was doing us as customers a favour. The main bar was half full so he sat us in the foyer due to covid restriction which this establishment seem to have take to a level of paranoia. The drinks were not cheap either. We stayed for one, bought a bottle of wine from the very nice barman and decided to have a drink back at our accommodation. I will not return.

We booked this hotel at 10.15pm for the next day because the place we had intended to stay sent an email at 10pm to say our booking was cancelled because of Covid. So a frantic ring around because we were meeting all our family in Beddgelert for a big birthday celebration for our middle son. Jill and Alan at Tanronnen could not have been more helpfu. They even managed a birthday dinner for 13 on our second night. The rooms are spotless and the food is good and plentiful. Would absolutely recommend this Inn and would use again if we were in the area. Centre of town location

Fourth visit to Beddgellert and the Tanronnen remains an enigma, it’s barely ever open and when it is they want food trade and not to serve a drink to people g small family) even though food isn’t actually being served yet but the bar is open. With limited food hours across the village some of this is understandable but it’s never been a friendly welcome. If anything you feel bad for darkening their door. And this hasn’t changed for many years so We made it in once and the food was average.

I booked this hotel online after a search and liked the look of it. When I arrived I was very surprised and the hotel. It looked plain but the room was completely opposite. Vert clean very bright and one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in. I had dinner which was excellent. Alan who seemed to be the proprietor or manager was excellent and informative and helpful. I had dinner too which was very good. I would definitely stay there again. Thank you Tanonnen Inn.

On each visit to Beddgelert, this is the go to place for an evening meal. The place is just fantastic, comfortable, clean, great choice of food and beer. The staff are friendly and the locals too. I have not seen any organised music nights but they could well be done just not seen by us.

A friendly family-run hotel offering good value. Very conveneint for local walks and attractions. Car necessary unless you are happy with the limited local bus service. Excellent bar-food menu - welcomimg service. Highly recomended.
