Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Very good location and views to the front. The house is quite old, which adds to its charm but it’s poorly maintained and not very clean. There was no welcome and the interchange we did have at breakfast felt hostile. We had breakfast the first morning and didn’t enjoy it as it was poorly cooked so we left it. The bakery close by in the spar is fabulous. All of the staff are lovely, you get service with a smile and delicious food with it. All of the Welsh people we met in Betws-y-Coed are so friendly helpful and happy to have a chat

We used to come to Betws y Coed regularly pre covid and always stayed at the Fairhaven. It was so nice to come back after a few years, like coming home!! The owners Simon and Sharon are so welcoming without being intrusive or all over you but you know if you need anything, you just have to ask. The room we choose, room 6, has a big king size bed and a sofa, loads of room to spread out. It’s at the front of the house but you don’t really notice any traffic noise, good windows! Breakfast if you want it is freshly cooked to order (order night before) and is delicious. Lovely herb sausage and thick bacon well cooked, perfect poached or scrambled eggs, beans, mushrooms, hash browns and toast! Plus choice of cereals and tea/coffee and fresh orange juice!Smaller options of eggs Benedict etc if you don’t want the full Welsh 😃 you won’t need to eat for a while after all that! Thank you so much again for putting us up this weekend! X

After a busy week and long journey up to Betws y coed our stay at Fairhaven was just what we needed. Would highly recommend basing yourself here if like us, you visit Snowdon without a car yet still want to explore and have easy access to everything you may need. There were no complications with checking in, the room had such a lovely touch to it, and the hosts served us up two very yummy breakfasts during our stay ( you could just tell it was all quality produce). The access to a fridge came in handy for packing a lunch box for climbing Snowdon and for chilling some celebratory bubbles for a post hike treat. The bnb is also right next door to various good food places. We went to Abassi’s one night for an Indian and Y Stablau on our last night for some pub grub and a drink - both on the doorstep and serve up tasty food. We also loved making use of the vast selection of DVDs available in the bnb! Hopefully we will stay here again

A nice find - very slick & well organised (we didn’t meet the host until we were leaving) with web booking, emailed info and key boxes. The rooms are nice with lots of character & there is a fridge in each floor with real milk. The location is fabulous- directly on the high street, next to a convenience store with a bakery. You can access the whole of the small town from here. The host was very helpful with something we asked for - done with humour & empathy. Thanks.

We had a wonderful stay in Room 12, it is beautifully decorated and immaculately clean, the temperature of the room was just right and the bed was very comfortable. We really appreciated the little extras like fresh milk for tea and the plentiful refills of tea/coffee available. Having wine glasses and a corkscrew avaiable also was a thoughtful touch. We liked being able to let ourselves in with the key safe with no fuss. The location was perfect with beautiful views from the window but right in town. Communication was really good. Thank you very much!

I enjoyed my stay. The B&B is centrally located, very clean and provides for every need. The bed was really comfortable and I slept very well. It was great to be able to help yourself to tea, coffee, milk and biscuits. The cooked breakfast was very tasty too. My one and only very slight criticism is that the curtains are quite thin and did little to keep out the early daylight, however I always pack a sleep mask so this wasn't a problem for me. There is a small garden to the rear which would be a pleasant spot to sit and chill.

Really nice place to stay when visiting one of the most popular villages in Snowdonia. Placed in the very heart of the village, close to bus stops, railway station, restaurants, with a tiny supermarket and a delicious local bakery round the corner. Led by a fantastic couple who prepare great home made breakfasts using regional Welsh produce, therefore allowing to gain strength for the whole day. The hosts were helpful with an early check in and they also offered storing luggage safely. The room and bathroom were absolutely clean. The selection of refreshments provided was positively surprising while the backyard garden seemed a calm place to relax after daily excursions. Highly recommended!

Fab location in the heart of Betws-Y-Coed. Liked the contactless check-in and key arrangements and also the table and chairs in the room to allow for breakfast in the room. Good facilities for making tea and coffee, comfortable room, handy fridge on landing for own supplies. Books in the room and on landing, plenty of sanitiser and wipes and guidelines for Covid clear Good selection for breakfast and well cooked. Hot shower. Would definitely come again. Good wi-fi. Owners very friendly and helpful when I left my lunch there too and had to come back later! Parking close by can be a bit of challenge when the village is busy if you can't get up the street by the church, the hotel carpark next door is cheap overnight and you can pay by app.

A nice find in the centre of town, clean fresh and very well equipped room. Very comfortable sleep. Trying times staying away during this pandemic however the Fairhaven have it sorted from checking in to departure. Will visit again soon once times are better. No parking however we found free parking close by in a very busy holiday period so not an issue to us. Would highly recommend this Guest house.

Stayed here as we were visiting Zip World. The location right in the centre of Betws y Coed was excellent for the shops, eateries & walking localities. There was a non contact system in place due to the pandemic & this worked perfectly. Key safes were on the wall just outside the front door & entry codes were sent to us the evening before our arrival, the instructions were simple & clear. Our room was number 7, which was on the first floor, overlooking the road & river. There was a large tilt & turn window, considering it was half term week, it was busy but the traffic noise at night was minimal & didn’t disturb our sleep with the window open. The room was very spacious, with a comfy double bed & table & chairs to have a meal at should you choose to bring something back, also a good size en-suite & lovely large shower. Tea & coffee making facilities were in the room but an added bonus of a fridge on the landing with fresh milk should you not like UHT milk, also more tea, coffee & biscuits! The room was mostly clean (slight attention to some areas required), there were a few cobwebs & a spider in the bathroom & the spare duvet had a yellow stain on it, also the duvet protector under the cover had some noticeable hairs on (spotted these as I was making the bed through the side slits). There was also a slight issue that the room above had a leak, which came through the ceiling in our room, there was a kind note of apology left on our bed, nothing of our personal effects were damaged. None of these things would not stop us returning to the Fairhaven, so thank you for our lovely stay.
