On another return visit to this amazing place 😊 Gwar is always welcoming and attention to detail is second to none. Nothing is ever too much trouble.... Absolutely had the best time the weather was kind to us can't wait to head back at a later date.
Located a few ks outside betwys coed pengwern is a well run b and b. Good breakfast and hospitality from gwar. If the weather is good the area gets very busy. Lovely view from room and good facilities. Need to get used to hand held shower in bath so go for the bath.
My daughter and I stayed at this lovely B&B for 3 nights. Our twin room was lovely and confortable. The only slight drawback was that the bathroom, which was located down a few stairs from the entrance area, had a bath only, no shower. The owner was very accommodating. On learning that my daughter is vegan, she offered veggie burger for breakfast and procured soya milk, which we really appreciated. The location on the outskirts of Betws-y-coed is convenient for accessing various mountains/routes. I have previously stayed at the self service accommodation, which is a wonderful and romantic little cottage for a couple. Highly recommended
A return visit to a fabulous family run bed and breakfast, food locally sourced and beautifully cooked and presented, I had something different every day,a lovely comfy room with a beautiful view from our window, we were welcomed with a tray of tea and traditional Welsh cakes which is a lovely touch. Ideally situated for lots of local attractions which the family recommended.
We were very pleased with all aspects of our stay at Pengwern Country House, The location is a short drive to the castle towns (Conwy, Caernarfon) and Snowdonia National Park. The room was clean and average size with a very comfortable bed and an en-suite bathroom. Breakfasts were terrific with at least 5 choices on the menu each day. Best of all, our hostess, Gwarw, was very helpful and informative, particularly relating to Welsh culture, customs, and language. Individual attention is always better with a smaller property like Pengwern. Our guide book said proximity to the road was a negative. We heard no traffic noise in our room at the back of the house, I suspect that front rooms were not noisy as well because the house is elevated from the road and is shielded by extensive vegetation.…
