Stayed three nights when working in the area, the room was an "executive suit" so I discovered and it was very nice with a large comfy bed and all facilities supplied, situated in a separate block behind the actual pub the room was up on the first floor, easy access for me but I did not spot a lift, although... .....cos if they don't could be a bumpy ride. Fortunately they did and it wasn't. As a one nighter it was a lovely stay. The pub was a lovely old building but I like old things, just ask the wife. Whilst being very busy (Welsh fans) the service was good as was the food. The rooms were quirky being what... More

We had a lovely time here, great friendly staff, good value for money and the nicest food! Only thing that would of made it more perfect would if been wifi in the room. We would love to come again one day.

We visited here for the first time on Sunday evening. The building is lovely, inside is very comfy and the staff are helpful and welcoming. We were meeting close friends for a meal (on their recommendation) and we weren't disappointed! The food was beautiful. Really good value for money. There was an issue with my meal and it was rectified... More

Room 17 at this place is probably the worst room I have ever had the misfortune to stay in in my 50 plus years of travelling around the UK and elsewhere. The room was cold and uninviting. Heating was provided by a plug in convector heater which I had to leave on all night in order to stay warm. The... More

Slightly disappointed to be honest. First impressions were good with our room be clean and quite large. Apart from that things were a little disappointing, No guidance at breakfast apart from a fellow guest telling what to do. Hosts of the Trevor Arms never made temselves known and never asked if everything was ok during our stay

My apologies for failing to greet you personally on your arrival at my establishment, I am relatively new to the game of hospitality and did not realise that the owners of establishments were expected to greet guest individually. I do try to engage with as many of our guests as I can during their stay with us, unfortunately I have... More

My husband and I booked for 1 night in an executive double room. On arrival we were greeted by a very attentive young lady from behind the bar. We were allocated room 21. The room was fantastic and had more storage than I've ever had in a hotel room. It was clean and the bed very comfortable . We booked... More

My wife and I are relocating to this area and were fortunate to be able to book for two nights while we moved in and unpacked hundreds of boxes at our new home! The staff at the Trevor Arms made us so welcome and looked after us superbly while we worked through our exhaustion of 14 hour days. The room... More

By the look of the photo you think u actually stay in the pub, but u dont l felt like it was hostel style accomodation, very minimal, the pictures make it look better than it is , the bed was uncomfortable and lumpy, wifi was extremely poor. They decided to burn some rubbish while we were there so our room... More

I had a 40Th birthday party at the Trevor arms and it was a fantastic venue with excellent food, drink and service. The staff and management couldn't do enough for us and even sourced a live band. Accommodation was also onsite for guests which was also really convenient. The pub has had a complete refurbishment since I had last been... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Refurbished in the summer of 2014, the Trevor Arms is a delightful 16th-century pub, a focal point within the village of Marford on the North Welsh Borders equidistant between Chester and Wrexham. Marford is a very attractive area in a picturesque and peaceful setting, covering some 750 acres, where the hills of North Wales meet the vast plains of Cheshire. Distant landmarks that can be seen clearly from Marford include Eaton Hall, Chester Town Hall and Cathedral. Beyond that on the low broad plain, the Peckforton hills form the skyline with the outcrop of rock at Beeston crowned with its castle. The hotel backs on to a site of special scientific interest, Marford Quarry, and is an ideal start point for outdoor activities. ... more   less
