Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Came to Wrexham for the night, chose the Wynnstay Arms due to the location and being right in the town centre but unfortunately would not stay again, the staff were all lovely and polite but the room was filthy! Dust and muck all over skirting boards, only 1 bedside table, not even a spoon to stir a coffee after making a drink! This hotel needs a massive cash injection! The bathroom was vile! Mould all over, hair and mucky marks in bath. Tried to run a bath and the water was shooting out all over and making an awful noise.

Hard to up the stars as the hotel is very tired. Staff were nice and everything clean but if I said everything was excellent then others would expect en excellent experience. It’s a poor quality TI type accommodation. Whilst far better than guest house given excellent in past the expectations in this class is totally different. This could be a great place to stay. Parking great and WiFi was in late afternoon but died in evening.

This is the most dirtiest hotel ever, noise in the walls constant humming, probably from the extractor fans, either from the resturant or rooms, Bathrooms that are ever worse, mould all over the place... soap dispensers that dont work, human hairs still in the bath stuck on the walls , clearly havent had a clean up at all, cables out the walls, went down to reception to ask for soap , or new room no nothing available.receptionist seems to be also puzzled and said he would let house keeping know.. no use when i need to checkout in the morning....

We received a warm welcome and all the staff were friendly and helpful. All the things we requested we received with a smile The rooms are very tired looking and quite small. You just get the feeling that the hotel generally needs updating The bathroom was also very dated and the rooms are dark The shower had very little power This hotel could be much nicer with an update but we would stay again as the staff were brilliant.

Arrived to check in, was greeted with numerous reasons as to what we couldn’t do. There literally wasn’t a single positive to our greeting. Asked if we could put balloons in our Mums room as a surprise…I’ve never know something to be such an issue. We’d paid for the room in advance yet they didn’t believe this. Would’ve left straight away if it wasn’t for our Mums birthday surprise. The bathroom was absolutely filthy. Yellow stains everywhere. Wouldn’t recommend this place to stay at all.

Booked a table for evening meal for 7.30. Arrived appx 7.15pm but bar was so busy and nobody around to advise we had arrived. Eventually got served at 7.30 and told where our table was. There were no menus on the tables and after 10 minutes a 'waiter' arrived to say we'd have to get our order in immediately as the kitchen closed for orders in 5 minutes (7.45pm), but still no menus arrived. We asked to see the manager but they didn't arrive so we went back to the bar where they issued us with menus. The waiter didn't seem to know what he was doing - delivering us food we hadn't ordered and he didn't even know what dish he was serving - it was like a scene from Fawlty Towers ... but not as funny! Eventually our food arrived and surprisingly it was ok, but we will not be going there again. Think they need to decide if they're a town centre pub or a restaurant as tbh they can't cope with both. .
