We stayed at the Hilltops Longhouse from 22nd to 26th May 2021. As soon as we arrived it looked amazing with stunning views all around. We were welcomed by Neil who was so friendly and told us everything we needed to know about our stay.
The Longhouse didn't disappoint it was exactly as described, it definitely had the wow factor. It was immaculately clean with everything you could imagine there. To get into the Longhouse you went up a set of outside steps which led you into the living, dining and kitchen area. The views were stunning. The kitchen was amazing with fridge, freezer, dishwasher, toaster, huge cooker and all the cutlery and crockery you could think of. I took cleaning products etc with me and there was no need, everything was provided. There was also a welcome pack waiting for us which we thought was a wonderful touch.
The bedrooms were downstairs and again immaculately clean. I stayed in the king size bedroom (which was so spacious) with en-suite and walk in wardrobe. The family bathroom had everything you needed including a washing machine. The other bedroom we used had the twin beds and again immaculately clean and spacious.
We climbed Pen Y Fan on the morning we arrived and it was lovely to sit outside on the decking looking at Pen Y Fan and feeling a sense of achievement, also saying never again lol.
We walked into Brecon town a couple of times but always had a taxi back as it is quite a steep incline especially after a few light refreshments. We used Keith's Taxi and he was very reliable, always on time and very knowledgeable of the area .
We ate out most of the time and every place Rob and Neil had recommended was lovely. Everywhere we went in Brecon was so friendly it was unbelievable. We are already planning our next trip.
The photos on the Hilltops website look amazing but in person they are breath-taking. Would highly recommend Hilltops.
Fiarplay Rob and Neil you thought of everything and thank you for leaving us stay at your wonderful place.
See you soon Kath and Glen x

Hi Kath, Thank you for your lovely review, it's fantastic to hear how much you enjoyed the new cottage and all the things that there are to do in the area. It's all still a bit new to us so it's great to hear that we're on the right track. Totally agree - Keith Taxi is a real gem. It was lovely to meet yourself and Glen and we look forward to welcoming you back to Brecon at Christmas. Best Wishes, Rob x

The Granary provided a perfect base to explore Brecon and surrounding areas.
The accommodation is immaculate, warm and welcoming with some local produce to sample; no list of do’s and dont’s - evidence of the experienced hosts who know how to help you relax into the place quickly. Clever design of outside space meant we had total privacy indoors and in our outside terrace.

You could escape from technology if you wanted to -great selection of books all in excellent condition. But - WiFi and TV are good (With Netflix and Amazon).

We had a lovely stay at hilltops over the weekend, the owners were welcoming and had some great information about the area and what to do. The cottage was clean and had all the kitchen supplies you could need, they even had a basket of treats on our arrival which was a lovely touch.
The cottage was in a great location with just a short drive to everything you need or would want to see. With great views out the window I cant wait to go back already and would highly recommend staying here. Thanks for a great weekend

We stayed in The Farmhouse and we couldn't recommend it enough. Spectacular location with views to the mountains and the accommodation has been superbly fitted out by the owners with everything you could ask for. We enjoyed treks up in the mountains, walks by waterfalls and in nature reserves and a long mountain bike ride. The owners were so helpful giving us great recommendations for routes. Brilliant 4 days and will be back.100% recommend Hilltops Brecon.

It doesn't get better than this. Feels as much like a luxury hotel as a self catering cottage. The superb extras in the bathroom and kitchen point to hosts that care about your stay being special. Rob and his partner stay subtly attentive if you need anything. The decor and furnishing have been very carefully thought about. Can not recommend highly enough for families or couples.

Once again 5/5. Cottage was the cleanest holiday home we've ever stayed in and hosts are very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely welcome pack and fresh flowers on arrival which was a beautiful touch. Bed is super comfy as is the sofa. Wi-Fi we found to be excellent and enjoyed Netflix on the TV. It was quiet with outstanding views of the mountains, you couldn't ask for more. We have stayed here twice and will come back again. There is a delicious ice cream shop in Brecon called the dairy.... a must if you enjoy ice cream.

HI Angela and Gordon, Thank you both very much for your kind review, it was lovely to see you both for your return visit. It's great to hear that you enjoyed your stay again with us - we replaced the old DVD player with a Netflix account in each cottage which seems much simpler now we have the Fibre Broadband connected. Hope you had a good journey home and hope to see you again next time you are in the Brecon Beacons. Best Wishes, Rob

We had a lovely 3 night stay in The Farmhouse cottage here. Everywhere was very clean and even though the weather outside was a bit chilly we had the log burner on so it was toasty warm inside. Great location - not too far from the hills and waterfalls. Hope to be back.

Hilltops was the perfect setting and location providing a stunning backdrop for this delightfully converted farmhouse and buildings. The accommodation has been thoughtfully refurbished to provide very comfortable and high quality standard. Rob and Neil are absolutely wonderful hosts with a fine eye for detail to make their guests feel very welcome. It is a perfect location for exploring the Brecon Beacons or as a retreat away from a busy world.

A fantastic cottage ideally located, close to the town of Brecon so easily walkable.
Host Rob very welcoming, greeted us on arrival and gave us lots of useful information about local walks within the area.
The guest information pack within the cottage contained everything you needed to know for your stay.
There was a lovely welcome package when we arrived and the cottage was very clean, quality of products within the cottage was very high.
Would definitely recommend staying in the Granary if you would like a relaxing get away.

We have stayed with Rob and Neil on a number of occasions over the past few years and also when they ran The Grange guest house in the centre of Brecon. Our stays are always faultless.

We stayed in The Granary cottage at Hilltops again this June/July for four nights. Once again the accommodation and the setting were fabulous and both of the owners are just lovely guys. We even received a welcome pack containing various food and drink items, which was a lovely touch. We fully intend to stay for a whole week next time (possibly this September) and we highly recommend it to anyone else.

The setting of the three cottages overlooking the Brecon Beacons is absolutely stunning and this time we experienced warm and sunny weather. The cottages have also been arranged so that they provide maximum privacy for their occupants.

I really want Rob and Neil to adopt me so I never have to leave again!

Thanks guys!

Peter and Mike xx

Thank you both for your really kind review. It was lovely to see you again and so pleased that you were able to return this year having had to stay at home last Summer due to all the restrictions. It’s great to hear that you had a nice time again here in Brecon and we would love to see you next time you are in the area. Looking forward to seeing you again for your next visit when (fingers crossed) everything will be back to normal, Best Wishes,
