Three of us stayed on the 5th of July for one night with breakfast, our room was very comfortable, clean and spacious (Room 5) with enough towels, TV, hot shower and refreshments. It is a great location with rear off road private parking and just a two minute walk into town. Priced really well, and the breakfast options were excellent,...

4 of us stayed at this lovely, cosy B&B last night and we're very happy with everything there. All the staff were friendly and the rooms clean, comfortable and well equipped. The Beacons is well situated for a walk to the Cathedral, shops and restraunts, the added bonus of the car park at the rear of the B&B was great!...

The Beacons is centrally situated in Brecon and a two minute walk from everything in the town centre. I thought parking would be a problem but far from it - a large and free private car-park at the rear of the B& B was a very welcome bonus. All the staff were friendly and helpful on arrival and throughout the...

My partner and I stayed at the Beacons for a long weekend. The Beacons was the ideal place to stay, not just for its location, but just simply a great place to stay. All of the staff were a pleasure to stay with. Next time we venture into Brecon we shall certainly give the Breacons a vist. Lin and Glenn...

Although a pretty and comfortable guest house with adequate food and drink and a very good shower the spoiler for this place is the woman who owns it (Melanie) we were a group of 20 and basically gave her a business boost in the off peak season .We were taking part in a long distance cycle ride for charity and...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Unfortunately it is not one shared by ourselves. The group of 24 were very pleasant and all seemed to enjoy their stay. As you will be aware you arrived 2 hours before our check in time starts (as the organiser of the group had previously given us estimated times) You...

The Beacons GH is certainly somewhere we will be hoping to return to. It is ideally located on the edge of town, barely a 10 minute walk from the centre of Brecon. Our bedroom was well appointed with all the comforts we wanted for our two night stay. A great choice of locally sourced produce is available for breakfast and...

Guesthouses are always a bit of a gamble and walking to The Beacons over the swollen River Honddu in the pouring rain made me wonder if I should have stayed at home. But I found a lovely old building, a friendly welcome, an immaculate, pleasantly decorated bedroom with a comfortable bed and beautifully ironed white bed linen. The shower room...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Beacons was once a riverside farm and the 17th Century barns and cottages still remain. The front part of the building was added in the early 1700's and the house has changed little - apart from modern comforts and decor. The original spiral staircase, moulded ceilings and even the meat cellar (now a cosy bar) all add to the character and atmosphere of this lovely home. ... more   less
