Coach houses were traditionally warm and welcoming places. This particular example is one of a new breed. Offering 5 star Highly commended contemporary townhouse accommodation. The welcome is as big as ever. The hosts are full of local knowledge on the best places to visit, walk, cycle or ride. It's part of the Coach House's strong 'Sense of Place', which runs from photographs and maps of the Brecon Beacons on the walls to the Welsh breakfasts.

Detailed Reviews
Stayed for two nights at The Coach House in the Brychan Suite. The welcome and reception from the host Kayt was fantastic. We were offered tea, coffee and banana loaf upon arrival and nothing felt like too much trouble.
The B&B in itself was very warm, welcoming and clean with plenty of breakfast menu options to choose from. The breakfasts are delicious and very filling too for the day ahead of walking and sight seeing. I would highly recommend staying in the Brychan Suite, the room has everything needed for an unforgettable stay, with tea and coffee making facilities, a fully stocked mini fridge, a flat screen TV with lots of channel options and Now TV and a roll top bath. Bath robes, slippers and Elemis products were also provided for use. Complementary biscuits, sweets and a fruit basket were also provided which were a lovely little touch. It is obvious that the hosts take pride in the B&B and want you to enjoy your stay as much as possible.
I highly recommend a stay at The Coach House whilst visiting the Brecon Beacons. It is a 15 minute drive from Pen-Y-Fan and 30 minutes from the Four Waterwalls Walk. There are plenty of lovely cafes and restaurants within a 5 minute walking distance for lunch and evening meals too.
Perfect stay for a weekend trip away. I can't wait to return!

Kayt it a wonderful and welcoming host, she made us feel very safe following many precautions due to COVID. There were clear instructions on arrival and during our stay which ensured we all stayed safe and followed guidelines for COVID.
Our superior king suite (Llwellyn) was so beautiful, it had everything we needed, with lovely soaps, robes and and even gluten free snacks. There were so many lovely little touches too, I can’t mention them all!
The Breakfast at the Coachhouse was amazing. There was lots of choice for myself and my partner and everything was cooked so deliciously. Kayt and Hugh were very accommodating for my coeliac disease (And vegetarianism) and provided myself with lots of options at breakfast. I was never stuck for choice. In addition to this, myself and partner opted for the packed lunch, such great value for money and it was really a scrummy, we were full for our walks around Brecon Beacons! Nothing was too much for them, and they were very understanding about my dietary needs, which is often awkward at places we’ve stayed at before. The Coachhouse was a great location too, a few minutes walk into Brecon, ample parking around the back and we were also able to sit in the lovely garden With our ice creams.
If we return to Brecon we will definitely be staying here again and recommending it to others. Thank you.

+1
This B&B is a treasure. Our Islwyn room was great, the decor relaxing, I love the pieces of wood throughout the B&B and the maps and pictures of Brecon, the bed is fantastic, so comfy and the little things like fresh, cold water in a bottle on arrival, facecloths, lavender pillow spray, eco bin bags, fans in the room, an umbrella for our use (for the Typical Welsh weather...I live in Wales!)just made it for me. Lots of plugs for chargers, hairdryer etc. Requesting an iron and board was no problem, fresh milk is also available with your tea tray if you require it. Breakfast was stunning, good produce and so much choice, We stayed for 2 nights and it is only 10 minutes lovely walk into Town and restaurants, there is free parking to the rear of B&B. Entry and exit so secure, with the use of key fobs. Kayt is so helpful and has lots of local knowledge

The Coach House is a brilliant getaway in the Brecon Beacons. The room we had was brilliant and the location very good with just a 5 minute walk into town. The attention to detail is second to none - toiletries, towels, tea and coffee - all the basics are tackled with real thought and panache. And last but not least the breakfast was the best I've ever had!

I cannot fault this B&B at all. Everything about the room, the decor, the food and Covid precautions were so well thought through with so much attention to detail. Kayt was so welcoming and attentive. The breakfasts were sublime. The entire stay felt luxurious.
This place is ideal for exploring the Brecon Beacons - it's well situated for daily trips and with a warm bed and brilliant bath/shower facilities including shower gels and shampoo/conditioner to return to so your aching muscles and windswept bodies will be able to recover before your next outing

Our stay just 2weeks ago was my first venture out since early March but I knew I would feel comfortable and safe having been once before 2years ago. Yes, things were different, but the overall experience was as good, if not better. We had a wonderful relaxing two nights in a cool, ultra comfortable room when the daytime temperatures soared and the nights were stormy.
To add to the comforts, I love the registration form pre-visit, where I could choose bathroom necessities and tea/coffee needs in order to cut out waste. Also impressive is the lack of single use plastic. Special dietary needs are catered for and I could have lovely cool fresh plant milk served in a cool flask in my room. Another homely touch is Kayts homemade welcome cake in the room! 😋
The online guide (no magazines or leaflets currently provided) is excellent and so easy to navigate. It provides not only the accommodation facilities, the Covid 19 safety precautions being taken and and house rules for guests, but also links to many activities, local attractions, places to eat and drink.
I’m already looking forward to another visit soon knowing I will get a good nights sleep, the best freshly- served breakfast I could get anywhere .... and in a truly beautiful area of the UK. My favourite place to stay! 💖

We enjoyed a most excellent stay in the Coach House for a week in Brecon whilst on a walking holiday. Kayt was most attentive and made us feel no issue was too small, with any concerns immediately attended to with good communication back to us.
Our Room was spacious and very nicely appointed allowing us to enjoy time there post some very long walks in a most beautiful location. The Coach House is very well located for visiting the town only being a five minute walk away to the centre with parking space for three vehicles at the rear of the property and a spacious public free car park adjacent. Breakfast choice was excellent and Kayt was happy to adapt the menu as requested. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would be very happy to recommend the Coach House to anyone planning a visit to Brecon.

Kayt greeted us waemly on arrival and showed us to our luxuriously furnished bedroom for three nights. The king sized bed with extra thick mattress topper was super comfortable. Fresh milk was provided in a flask along with homemade banana bread. Every need was catered for including a fan to cool the room on sunny days, fast wifi, netflix, hairdryer, luxury Welsh toiletries and makeup removal cloth.
Homemade parfaits of yoghurt, granola and fruit compote kicked off an exceptional breakfast. The extensive menu included outstanding Welsh pancakes with bacon or fruit and honey and Welsh rarebit. The full cooked breakfast with high quality local produce was perfectly cooked.
The Coach House is a magnificant b&b with Kayt and Hugh paying incredible attention to every detail.

Much enjoyed my two night stay in the Coach House Brecon. It's a beautifully restored old building, and the room was very comfortable. The hotel is well located 5-10 minutes walk over the Usk bridge to the centre of the town. Traffic on the road in front of the hotel dwindles away in the evening, and I had two quiet and restful nights.
Service was excellent and friendly and the breakfast copious and delicious. Having longstanding connections with the area, I was Impressed by the use of local Welsh ingredients.
Brecon is a wonderful centre for walking both in the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains.

We so enjoyed our stay at the Coach House in Brecon! We were 2 couples traveling together for a family event. The rooms are stylishly decorated and very comfortable, lovely bathrooms (always important to me) and Kayt and Hugh could not be more welcoming and helpful hosts. They went the extra mile to make our stay easy and comfortable. They supply the rooms with coffee, tea, biscuits, fresh milk, etc. to your liking. The breakfasts are worth the visit alone, we only wish we could have done them better justice! This little hotel is very well situated for exploring the Brecon Beacons and surrounding area; it’s a short and easy walk into town, and there’s a large free parking area in back of the hotel as well as a couple of small spaces on the hotel property (which they kindly let us use for our rental car). COVID protocols were all perfectly observed as well. I recommend The Coach House extremely highly, and hope to be back for another visit one day!
