Coach houses were traditionally warm and welcoming places. This particular example is one of a new breed. Offering 5 star Highly commended contemporary townhouse accommodation. The welcome is as big as ever. The hosts are full of local knowledge on the best places to visit, walk, cycle or ride. It's part of the Coach House's strong 'Sense of Place', which runs from photographs and maps of the Brecon Beacons on the walls to the Welsh breakfasts.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely location and warm welcome. We stayed in Llywelyn Room 7. I picked this room for its super king size bed. The room was so well thought out. So many delightful personal touches. The breakfast was fabulous and so tasty. The choices available were plenty with something for everyone and all dietary requirements were considered. Nothing was too much trouble. 100% recommend this superior guest house/hotel. Location was brilliant, the local town was within walking distance. Parking was free and safe with no trouble finding a space extremely close to the hotel. Petrol station 30 seconds from the hotel, cheapest fuel prices I’ve ever seen. Local town, Brecon, has everything anyone could want or need.

From the minute we arrived to when we checked out it was fantastic. The rooms are lovely. Lovely touches. Nice chocolate biscuits toffees. It was great the milk was nice a fresh and in a flask. Loved the lavender spray to help you sleep. Toiletries were lovely. The place is spotless. Breakfasts were amazing and loved the wee touches on the plates of the dragon. Katya and Hugh were very friendly but gave you uour space. Because we were leaving early on check out day we got a breakfast to take away which was a lovely touch and tasted fab. The outside gardens were lovely too. I would definitely stay in this bed and breakfast again. Are room was on the main road but you didn't hear any noise. Lots of parking. More than a 5 star.

Oh, goodness! The Coach House is well into my Top Five All-Time Greatest B&B’s in the UK. And I’ve been coming here for 53 years. Kayt & Hugh pay meticulous attention to detail in every respect——the furnishings, the colour scheme, the breakfasts (oh!, those breakfasts!——especially the paprika Welsh dragon image on the plate that Hugh prepares), the toiletries in the bathrooms, the bed linens & towels, and everything else. The other guests always seem very happy & are quite engaging at breakfast. The Coach House is a short, easy walk into Brecon & all the shops, St. Mary’s Church, & the Cathedral. This was my third stay at The Coach House. I’ll most assuredly stay when I’m there next. It’s marvelous!

Nothing was too much too much trouble. The breakfast was amazing!! We will definitely be booking again soon. Thank you for a perfect few days.

Kayt is a very warm, welcoming and helpful host. Our room was very well appointed and spotlessly clean. However the breakfasts are possibly the real standout feature of the Coach House. Superb quality, a huge choice and enough to fill the hungriest guest. Next time we’re in Brecon we’ll certainly be paying a repeat visit.

Very good service, amazing breakfast made with love. The room was very well organized and clean. Some cakes and tea waiting for us. The only thing that I struggled a bit was the shower, I am quite tall and this shower head is very close to the wall. Apart from that, highly recommended.

Excellent stay at the Coach house, nothing was a problem for Kayt and Hugh. Comfortable room, amazing tasty and huge breakfasts kept us going all day, great tips from Kayt on places to go and some good conversations. We felt like we’d stayed with an old friend. We’ll definitely stay at the Coach house again on future trip to the area.

From check in until check out we had a fantastic experience at The Coach house. Kayt welcomed us and gave us all the info we needed . Our room was a standard double and spotlessly clean . The finishing touches are just lovely - banana bread which was very tasty , pillow mist which I will now be purchasing and lots of other little chocolate treats and plenty of teas and coffee . The room was beautifully decorated with a very comfy bed and pillows . The bathroom had lovely toiletries including shower gel, shampoo, conditioner . Plenty of towels and large too. Another great touch was having some on demand tv including Netflix. Nothing was too much trouble if we needed anything. The breakfast was amazing with such a great choice and tasted fantastic. Again some lovely touches with this including cold water and pure orange waiting at our table . The outside space is also lovely with table and chairs to sit and relax in the sun. I would most definitely return here again as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay .

Kayt is a superb hostess taking care of very detail. The room was perfectly appointed, very comfortable and everything you could possibly need provided. Lovely toiletries, fluffy towels, shower robes, fresh banana bread, chocolate snacks, ground coffee - you name it - it was there. Even lavender pillow spray. And the breakfast menu was amazing and utterly delicious. Can't recommend this accommodation highly enough. Thank you Kayt.
