A family run bed and breakfast which was opened by Graham Henry Welsh Rugby Coach in 1999. Bridgend is an industrial and market town. The house has a very friendly and homely atmosphere. Our guests come back time and time again. Being in Bridgend it is very convenient for most of South Wales as it is situated between Swansea and Cardiff, on the main London railway line, just off the M4 motorway, near to the coast, within 40 miles of the Brecon Beacons mountain range, 18 miles from Cardiff, and with such various facilities such as cycle tracks and others too numerous to name.

Detailed Reviews
A good stay and lovely welcome from Huw. Felt very at home and the location is good for the town where we were attending a concert at Luna lounge. Plenty of safe parking at the rear car park. The beds in room 3 were unfortunately uncomfortable as they were very soft giving little back support.
We didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment.

A warm welcome from the owner and he clearly loves what he does and has made a good job of making the place just right.
Close to the town, an appealing house, lovely, spacious and stylish.
Wonderful home cooked breakfast with direct contact with the host, couldn’t fault it, would definitely stay again, thank you

Beautifully appointed room in very nice and clean house. Comfy & quiet. Breakfast cooked to perfection by very welcoming host. Good amenities - nice large car park.
Glad I have found this for any future visits to the area.

I booked here for sat 23rd back in August over the phone and via text message. I was told I didn't need to pay a deposit for 2 rooms and I could pay on morning . I called the week before to double check everything was OK and I was told yes I asked if he wanted to double check with my name and I was told all is fine phone on sat to see what time we could check in. I rang sat morning to be told I hadn't confirmed the booking and he had no record of me and as it was a rugby day he was now fully booked. We had planned the trip as Christmas get together with family from bridgend that we don't see very often due to busy lives. They were not very helpful I was just told he was sorry and it was a miscommunication .

We cycled from North to South Wales staying in 4 b&b's. They were all fantastic but Mair's was the pick of the bunch. Why? The rooms and breakfast were spot on but when we were there for 3 nights it was run by Huw who is an amazing, interesting, funny and helpful guy. He couldn't have done more for my fellow cyclist Ste, my family who came down by train and myself. For the first time ever I paid extra in a b&b. We will be back (probably without the bikes) to see our friends from Bridgend and stay at Mair's

Stayed here this weekend for a family wedding, Very good b&b and the welcome from the host Huw was very warming and welcoming. The full breakfast was all local produce which was nice to see. When I visit Bridgend again will stay there again.

We needed somewhere to stay to surprise my sister at a special birthday party in Coychurch. We booked in for the one night and had a lovely welcome from Huw. Room was very comfortable and breakfast was excellent. If we didn't have family locally we would normally stay with (my sister), we would certainly use Mair's more often.

My room was clean and comfortable, though I did find the mattress to be a bit on the thin side. I think I was the only guest at the time, but was trusted alone in the place, as the owners live elsewhere I think. Your invited to the use of the kitchen. The location is ideal for a short walk into the charming town and High street, I was very impressed with my 24 hour stay, and there are some great restaurants...
