Travelodge Caerphilly garners commendation for its cleanliness, with guests frequently mentioning immaculate rooms and diligent staff, although a minority flag minor issues. The customer service is often highlighted as outstanding, creating a welcoming atmosphere, despite some remarks on dated decor. Its prime location is well-regarded for proximity to local attractions. While rooms are deemed comfortable, critiques of their dated style and occasional maintenance concerns surface. The hotel is considered to offer good value, although it's noted for a lack of certain amenities.

Me and my partner has stayed in this hotel for the last 2 months due to a flood in our house. But I couldn’t thank the staff enough who’ve made our stay memorable. Loraine, Sarah, Ffion, Irene and Lilly we’d like to thank you for looking after us from the very beginning, it feels more like family rather than people who just work here as we’ve been here so long haha, they’re always happy to help us out and very friendly towards us and our little dog Ralphie. The room is very clean and we get daily fresh towels too, the bath runs boiling hot water unlike some hotels and you can get a decent nights sleep on the beds too. the hotel is next to the red kite if you want a pub meal and a couple of drinks, and only a 5-10 mins walk to the centre of Caerphilly too, good location, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
Thank you guys
Leon, Nicola & Ralphie

Budget with a capital B.
The hotel has been reduced to the basics, a room with a bathroom and parking.
All other requirements have been pared down, cheap soap, extremely cheap toilet tissue, few towels, reduced room cleaning, just adequate hotel cleaning, little food.
But it is cheap.

Comfortable, friendly and hospitable and great location. We appreciate the environmental care that means your room is your own responsibility for the first 5 days but that you have the choice of asking for a 'top up' of tea bags etc. That is perfect for us.

To be honest the stay isn’t all that bad, it’s as good as you make it to be, it’s Travelodge. What does make the difference is the staff here and their quality to customer service. From reception to even the housekeepers, they are deferential and thoughtful who are willing to give their time to help. Being particular, Ayeleñ she’s different, she’ll go the extra mile, she’s certainly courteous, and wears such a beautiful smile to where I can’t help but walk away smiling. Now let’s talk surroundings, it’s situated greatly. Few grocery shops and places to eat on the doorstep (recommend? Everyone is different). There’s a bus stop, 2 minute walking distance that goes directly to Cardiff City Centre approximately a 45 minute journey or a 20 minute walk to a train station which will approximately get you to the same destination in 25 minutes - either way it’s easy. There’s also Caerphilly just a stone throw away too. Let’s get to grips, The Travelodge is an ideal stay which has everything on the doorstep.

Room was clean enough couple of stains on wall near tv, the room does look very dated compared to other Travelodge hotels I’ve stayed in and also the out side of the building looks a bit shabby and not as bright and fresh as in the picture used to advertise it.

Beds were comfy and we had a pretty decent sleep but only 2 plug sockets in the whole room and one of which was not working, so we could choose to melt in the extremely hot room and charge our devices or make a hot drink or go with out charge and drinks and use the fan to cool the room we chose the fan The room definitely needs more sockets preferably next to the bed.

Hotel staff we dealt with seemed ok and friendly enough . The hotel is conveniently located right next to a Lidl so you can grab snacks and a cheeky bottle of vino and there is a lovely pub next door called the red kite that does good food.

It’s such a shame no hot breakfast facilities at the hotel- the pack and go option was not appealing and expensive.

Short walk across the road there is a small retail area where you can grab some food morning & evening and there is another pub - we didn’t visit that pub though but looked busy.

Over all ok for a cheap over nighter.

At check-in I was met by a really friendly team of staff who made me feel like it was no trouble at all to ask them questions about the location and my stay. The hotel was spotless, warm and I had everything I needed including extra pillows should I need them. Although I didn't have it I noticed that breakfast was only a fiver, which lets face it, is amazingly cheap these days.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or stay there again myself.

we were greeted at reception by a lovely young lady called Ffion. She was welcoming and very pleasant to speak to. We checked into our room and there was no bath, we prefer to have a bath. When we asked Ffion if we could re locate to a room with a Bath, she went out of her way to identify rooms with a bath that had yet to be occupied and then even went to the room to double check it had a bath before returning with the new room number for us. Later she kindly found us two wine glasses, from behind reception. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay, nice rooms, clean tidy and well serviced, and two nice pubs with food nearby, with shops and takeaways to add to the choice. Diolch Ffion for the warm welcome and superb hospitality.

I recently stayed at the Travelodge in Caerphilly, and from start to finish, the experience was fantastic. The check-in process was seamless—quick, efficient, and handled by a friendly staff member who immediately made me feel welcome.

The room itself was spotless, with a super comfy bed that ensured a great night’s sleep. The location was ideal, right near Caerphilly Castle, making it perfect for exploring the area.

What really set this stay apart was the exceptional service. The staff were professional yet warm, always ready to help with a smile. A special mention to one team member in particular—she truly went above and beyond to make my stay extra special.

If you’re planning a trip to Caerphilly, this Travelodge is the ideal place to stay. I’ll definitely be booking here again!

We stayed in the Travelodgge in Caerphilly for 7 nights while visiting family in Wales for Christmas.
As i have an illness we were given a disabled room. It was spotless and the bed was comfortable and there was hot water all day and night.
The staff were wonderful they would open the doors when they saw me coming and anything we asked for was delivered within minutes. They were all smartly dressed in their uniform, polite at all times and always had a smile on their face.
Although we met most of the staff the ones that were particularly helpful were Lorraine Aylene, Sarah, Irene, Kat and Kyle.
They were very helpful if we wanted advice and very knowledgeable.
On our travels we have stayed in hotel and motels from 1 to 5 * but i don't think we had so much attention as we did at the Travellodge Caerphilly
We would definitely stay again.
Patricia, Fuerteventura.

The station you want is on the same valleys line as Aber. Aber rail station is 10-15 minutes walk from the Travelodge. Caerphilly station is 30 minutes walk from the Travelodge. Note. Aber does not have an all-day ticket office.

All the rooms doesn’t have black out curtains but the curtains are hanging are quite thick and light does not pass through them in the morning. Room turns dark even in daylight when you draw the curtains. Hope that helps.
