I stayed for one night at the Hilton in a King guest room at a cost of £86. Having never stayed at a mainline Hilton before I was interested to see what it was like. Excellent check in experience, very informative, good safety precautions taken, plenty of hand sanitisers places around. I liked the elevators with a view down to the atrium. My room was large and very clean with plenty of storage and work space and a separate seating area to enjoy your tea or coffee. Bed was extremely comfortable. Was quite cold in the room but the heating system was adequate enough to warm it up nicely. The TV was big but the free view system was old and channels were very limited, some didn’t even have a signal. The bathroom was large with separate shower cubicle and bath which I guess it could really do with some upgrading in the near future as it showed a bit of wear and tear and general age. The staff that I saw during my stay were all polite and smartly dressed. I didn’t use the pool unfortunately but I was told at check in to simply call the leisure dept and you could book a slot to go and have a swim. I would consider a Hilton hotel in the future if some good offers come up.…
Have stayed many times over the years, and as a gold member, have never failed to be treated well and upgraded each time. The hotel is in a great location for Cardiff, and I’ve always found to be great value for myself and family whenever we’ve stayed. This review is for last week, staying under the strict covid rules in place, and that curtailed a lot of normal services. Hence I was a little Anxious to see how safe the hotel would be in such times, but I was reassured completely by the segregation throughout, adherence to masks and hand sanitisation throughout public areas, and the cleaning regime in each room, including the seal on a fresh room. The usual help yourself breakfast buffet replaced with a served breakfast, naturally to minimise contact by guests. I’d have no hesitation recommending a stay during such troublesome times, the compliance is excellent in trying to prevent any spread of Covid, or other such nasties! Have to close with a note. Just read a comical review from someone who stayed also recently and apparently rang switchboard for 4 hours. Assuming this to be correct (they’ve answered within minutes anytime I’ve called from the room!) I cannot fathom what level of awkward customer you have to be to wait 4 hours to speak on the phone to reception, when it’s just a minutes elevator ride away? …
We book here every year for a day of Christmas shopping and a stay in the lovely Hilton Cardiff. We were weary at first but decided to go ahead as it’s been a long year!! The service was fantastic, the level of cleanliness was above and beyond what we expected. There are gel stations everywhere, sealed stickers on the doors to prove that the room has been deep cleaned and the room itself was spotless. It was an absolutely wonderful weekend away and it was very reassuring to see all the infection control measures in place to protect guests. Thank you for a lovely weekend :)
The friendly staff have gone above and beyond to ensure that the guests are safe. Strict measures in place and hand sanitizer points everywhere make for a comfortable stay. Clear instructions at breakfast were helpful and all in all a very pleasant stay that gave a welcome break from the covid carnage. Thank you so much.
Issues at check in with no breakfast on our 2 night stay. Room 317 is ok but very cold & has a limited TV channel choice of 5. The TV is so old that not only is the picture quality terrible but your mobile phone causes interference on the screen. First night (Thursday 4th December) was so noisy from drunk loud girls & males in the next room slamming doors & banging walls until 11.45pm that I had to call reception because they had woken my daughter who was then scared. Reception did send someone up to chuck the boys out of the hotel room as they were not guests. Booked in for dinner Friday night to be faced with a very limited menu of mostly egg or fish rather than what is still being advertised on the website for The Grey restaurant so we walked out and had to order in a pizza. For the pleasure of this experience it cost £256. No apology no offer of a refund. AVOID this Hilton…
