Excellent service at front desk Bar staff really good extremely friendly service was excellent We didn’t use the spa This was booked as a Birthday present for the Saturday Night Our Room was really Quite (321) We were slightly disappointed with the dirty glasses left by house keeping And these was marks on the bed. The glasses in fairness were replaced once we took them to the restaurant as these was a large que at the front desk They did apologise and say it wasn’t acceptable

Why is this only 3 out of 5 rating, poor client care. Arrived at my room which was very nicely done a Superior King which was large and comfortable. The problem was the room was very cold and when reception called to see how I had settled in, I told them that the room was cold and suggested that it might have been good if housekeeping had checked before the room was occupied. The heating was activated by the room key so it only came on when I got into the room. After about an hour the room was still very cold and I rang reception to say that it was still ridiculously cold. The person I spoke to tried to fob me off saying it can take time for the room to warm up. I said after an hour it should be warm and that it was unacceptable that I was sitting in a freezing room with my coat and scarf on in a quality hotel. He eventually agreed to come and check the room ( why not just send maintenance) ( actually why not just change my room the hotel was not busy) A young man arrived and agreed that the room was cold but still tried to say that it can take a while for the room to heat up. I again had to say that it was unacceptable to be left in a very cold room and didn't reflect well on customer care. At this point he suggested he would get a maintenance person to come a check what was going on. About 5 minutes later a maintenance person arrived and quiet quickly decided that there was a problem and that it was better to change rooms and he went away to check room availability and make sure the room had effective heating. When he came back he had a room ready for me and offered help with my bag which was unnecessary as I hadn't unpacked my small over night bag. He was very helpful and the first person to be focused on my wellbeing and reflected great customer care. So what went wrong with reception? Really I don't expect to have to go through hoops to change a room where there was obviously a problem, especially on a night when occupancy was obviously low. When I met my daughter in the reception lounge about an hour later the irony of blazing warm fires was difficult to miss. At no time was an apology offered

Dear LondonMagicDougal, We are of course very sorry to have disappointed you on this occasion. we will investigate further the lack of customer service you mentioned from our Reception Team, as this is most unusual. We are glad to know that our Maintenance staff has made up for this shortcoming and that you enjoyed the rest of your stay with us. We hope this small hiatus does not deter you from staying with us again. Kind regards
