This hotel was perfect for my needs, and I managed to get it at the last minute. I had stayed in another hotel on my first pass through Newport, which through no fault of their own was far too loud -- switching to the Night Lodge was a perfect solution. It's far away enough from the "night life" that I...

Stayed here for one night on December 10th, single room £35 good for the price, was clean and tidy and had everything in the room that you would need as a single room occupant. Friendly welcome to the lodge and no issues at all, would stay here again. Thanks!

The only real positive about this place is the location as it's pretty central to Newport and there is a free car park. Other than that nothing great to report. Quite shabby.. more like dated student accommodation. The tele didn't work and the firm alarm went off for 30 seconds around 4am. For roughly the same cost you can stay...

The only downfall is the rooms are far too small, it is situated in a great place which is only a couple of minutes walk from Newport town centre, with plenty of car parking space. The rooms are basic but are warm and clean. It has a decent TV, tea coffee facilities and a decent shower. On a business trip...

So..... My partner had thrown me out (again). Whilst infrequent, this has happened before and I have become something of an expert in local hotels. The first few times it happened I treated myself to double beds, quaint hotels and with some level of gay abandon I didn't worry too much about the price. However, each time it has happened...

I have to write this review as I do not want anyone to have to go through the uncomfortable night we had. First of all the positive: I will say that the owner and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming and I feel uncomfortable writing this review because of that, however, they really do need to learn from positive...

The picture on the web site is very old, the building outside looks very tired, much like the inside. No curtains in the room as the rail had fallen off the wall. Very small room in the attic. It was handy for the train station into Cardiff which is about the only good thing I can say about it.

Stayed in the basement, rather strongly smelt musky. Wasn't a pleasent experience. Shower was ok. Shower gel and hand wash supplied, as well as towels. Bed was very soft. Linen, towels etc were clean.

A night in Newport on business, looked alright on the net, the truth is it's a couple of old houses cobbled together to produce shoe box rooms that might have been better when it was first done about twenty years ago, I've stayed in a few of varying conditions but this was the worst. I couldn't wait to get up...

The man in charge was very cheerful and went out of his way to welcome us. We booked fairly last minute for a busy weekend (hordes of Rugby fans all over area!) so took this as the most economic choice given outrageous price hikes all round. Does what you might expect from the name: it’s a bed for the night...
